With a strong, successful push over the weekend to move conservatives, especially social conservatives, back to him, Rick Santorum has re-taken the lead in the latest Mitchell/Rosetta Stone Poll of Michigan conducted for MIRS (Michigan Information & Research Service) Sunday night. The two front runners are still in a statistical dead heat, although Romney (35%) has lost his lead to Rick Santorum (37%) while Newt Gingrich (9%) and Ron Paul (8%) are locked in a battle for third place. Eleven percent remains undecided.

The interesting thing about Michigan is that delegates are awarded two for each Congressional district winner plus two for the popular vote winner - Romney could conceivably win the popular vote but lose or tie the delegate vote.

Keep praying. The LDS Rombots will be out in masses here in Arizona tomorrow. It is frustrating to say the least!

If you have Republican friends here in Arizona please call or email them to vote for Rick Santorum.

Pray for a miracle!

I’m not sure about your assessment, which seems to be the consensus of most Freepers. I’m beginning to think it will be the best thing for Gingrich if Santorum LOSES, and loses big tomorrow. First, according to conventional wisdom, Romney is supposed to get big momentum from his wins going into Super Tuesday. But the majority of Super Tuesday delegates come from the South, where Romney is DETESTED. On the other hand, is Santorum squeaks out a win in Michigan, lots of Christian conservative voters in the South will see it as confirmation that Santorum is God’s choice. I am also fairly certain that, no matter what Santorum voters may say, they won’t return the favor and support Newt in the South. Look at what happened in Florida. Santorum had pulled out, right? But I heard NOTHING from his voters about all getting together and voting for Newt. As far as I’m concerned, Newt really owes Rick nothing.

Psycho (may I call you by your first name?) I’ve noticed you have a real hatred for people of faith who won’t vote for your candidate. You attack to the point of destroying someone. Your hatred is real and obvious. This is still a country where all citizens, including presidential candidates, can freely speak of their faith. If you think it turns people off, tell Newt to stop too.

I believe that faith and religion play a critical role in the political life of our nation Ronald Reagan.

And if you fall for this “Vote for Ricky to stop Romney” BS, you will be guaranteeing the outcome of a brokered convention. If Romney loses Michigan and Arizona, he will stay in regardless, all the way to the convention. Because all who stay in to that point, are in the running for a brokered convention. And Romney has the graces of those who will install him as the nominee.

A brokered convention might hail the beginning of a permanent 3rd party. And I think it will be a combined effort between Newt and Sarah Palin. We will see, but this insane party deserves what it is about to get. (Santorum morons included!)

I sympathize with the 11%. It will be interesting to see how they break but this cannot be helping Romney.

Thanks for posting that, cripplecreek. Santorum laid out definitive ideas to right the economy, focussing primarily on the American dream of home ownership for this editorial. Romney primarily laid out his qualifications as justification that he would reduce joblessness......but not with definite details.

Interesting comparison of the two candidate’s proposals.

You are being morally superior again, only you can't see that in yourself.

Save your sanctimonious judgment for your own life and self. I have mine covered just fine as it is.

You love the “hate” label and use it freely, yet nobody is more hypocritical or false in that belief than are those who always point fingers at all others whom they view to be morally inferior, based on their narrow doctrine or belief.

Nobody is more destructively biased or rigid in their opinion than you. You just illustrated that fact in how you passed judgement on me. So take your self righteous indignation elsewhere.

Thanks for that morally pluralistic sermon, but Reagan also firmly believed in the separation of Church and State.

There is no such thing and selling your soul to the devil because you dislike Santorum and Catholics at a discount seems kind of foolhardy.

There is an "establishment clause" and a "free exercise clause". To exercise means to do vigorously and the notion that religion is barred from influencing debate in government in the public square is a left wing secular nut philosophy.

In fact I just had to explain this to a liberal at Politico and the fact that I now have to explain it to a self identified conservative here at FR makes me throw up as well.

The separation of Church and State is NOT in the Constitution, although the Marxist left wants to put it in there like all good Marxist do. What Reagan believed was this country should not have a state church, like Britain did, and I agree with him on that. But it's obvious from his speeches, he thought speaking of faith can and should be part of the political discourse, or he would not have talked about it so much, AS PRESIDENT.

We Christians don't talk of our faith to upset you, we like talking about our faith to one other, you just happen to come into Santorum threads. Maybe your drawn to those who have faith, or maybe your here only to do a hit piece on Santorum, I don't know, but am praying for you, as I'm sure others here are.

Lord preserve us from two more days of the scorched earth Romney campaign. I have been threatening to use a sledge hammer on my phone to keep the barrage of calls away. "Hello, this is Ann Romney (or Mitt, or Dave Camp, or any number of others....guuuuh), did you know that Rick Santorum is a douche bag?"

I can't wait till his org leaves our fair state (and all the nice trees.....). His campaign is really sick.

Your past reputation and behavior on this forum precedes you, so put your wrath back in the bottle where it came from. I could care less what you think.

With a little luck, the weather will keep the George Romney voters home tomorrow.

My reputation is as a three legged stool conservative. My behavior mirrors the behavior of who I’m speaking with. If you mean I don’t take crap, you’re absolutely right. And I don’t care if you respond or not. If you post like a liberal and I see it, I’ll correct your left wing nonsense in writing and under my own name whether or not you whine about it.

Hey, they likely all did absentee ballots already, it's the fact that Romney is depressing turn out with his scorched earth tactic, and turning off conservatives to vote that bugs me. The man is ruining the race, and I'm thinking it will convince a lot of people who don't pay attention, who simply want to get rid of Obama with anyone.

It’s interesting that you only attacks and respond to attacks rather than having a rational conversation about the merits of the candidates. You keep saying that Santorum is liberal in fiscal policy, yet ignore this fact.

National Taxpayer Union career scorecard:

Santorum 76%
Gingrich 61%

Pray that your ignorance won't end up being the ruin of us all. You are so convinced that your agenda is all that exists. Go ahead, believe that all you like, just don't try to force that on me, or others. Keep it to yourself or in your private prayer group.

Looking at the moral condition of the current America, it seems that for some reason, “prayer” just ain't workin’ out so well. And that is not my fault.
