A majority of New Mexico Democrats have a favorable opinion of Republican Gov. Susana Martinez, and President Barack Obama would easily defeat either of the current top two Republican candidates in a New Mexico contest, according to a new Rasmussen poll.
Fifty-four percent of New Mexico Democrats have a favorable opinion of the governor, while 94 percent of Republicans view her favorably. Sixty-six percent of all likely New Mexico voters viewed the governor favorably.
Seventy percent of New Mexico men and 66 percent of the states women approve of Martinez, according to the Rasmussen poll. Fifty-eight percent of New Mexico Hispanics approve of Martinez.

OK.. so NM voters are good with what benefits the state and will be pragmatic on that level, but when it comes to the rest of the country, they`re still chained to the floor of the Hope-N-Change Hotel?
She would be an excellent choice for VP.
An Hispanic female Republican conservative. If she is the VP nominee, it would drive the left crazy.
It is not quite that simple. New Mexico has gone for Republican candidates many times and when the Dim candidate does carry NM it is very close. We are a state the GOP can win, it takes the right candidate and that person has to campaign here- many don’t bother to because we sure don’t have many votes for them to gather. I actually will be surprised if Obama wins NM in spite of the polls, I haven’t heard a single person say they are happy with him at all. Of course if the GOP doesn’t have a decent candidate and turn out is low the liberals will turn out for him so he could win us that way. I think that is true of the whole country though- if the GOP candidate can’t get a turn out Obama will win again.
Sorry, not this election cycle. She has an agenda to improve education and stop illegals from getting driver’s licenses. Making small progress with these due to Democratic legislature.
Interesting... I don`t think McCain ever campaigned there, did he?
Palin had a rally down south, very well attended.
Agree. I think she will be the running mate.
Go on youtube and watch how she shoots. Bad ass mofo!
Romney’s VP candidate of choice... And it opens up the “Western Strategy” to him (CO, NM, NV, and a shot at WA and OR, and FL)
