NewsBusters reported Friday that Oscars host Billy Crystal intended to mock GOP "idiots" during Sunday's awards presentation.
Roughly forty-five minutes in, Crystal was true to his word taking a cheap shot at the Republican presidential candidates

“Mr. Saturday Night”, the fart of all movie farts.
While on the subject, IMHO Christian Bale gave a stunning performance in American Psycho. If you consider yourself an avid movie watcher, you should see it. The guy is friggin intense.
The “business card” scene is just plain surreal.
That is one of the best and funniest movies ever made IMO.

It was once said that all you need are 10 million people who like you and you are a star. I guess there are that many libs.
Hollywood is so successful they do not need or want sell movie tickets to Red state residences, that was apparent after crystal kissed a man
part of the problem is that the oscar crowd takes the ceremony itself too seriously and acts like they have poles in certain places. It’s like they’re afraid that the entertainment will take away from their awards. I quit watching because I’ve been to more entertaining funerals.
There was a great moment at the Emmy’s this year. The nominees for best actress in a comedy series got the idea to go on stage as their names were announced and stand like pageant finalists. It was unexpected, very funny and didn’t take anything away from the actual award. It’s the only thing I can remember from any awards show in recent memory. If that kind of schtick was inserted regularly, I might be seduced into watching these self-congratulatory infomercials.

I don’t think it was meant to be positive but it end up being true at least with two.
My take on it is that I think they believe that liberalism will preserve the only two "rights" they have any use for ... abortion and sodomy.

to be sure, Hollywood is full of intellectually very, very confused types. This shows up in so many ways, the point should be obvious. Unfortunately, Hollywood has played a major role in undermining respect for traditional American values, ever since 1950, at least. The use of images to misrepresent reality can be very effective. (See Persuasive Use Of Images.) Of course, that assumes you are dealing with intelligent Leftists. Billy Crystal may be a Leftist, but he lacks that other quality.
It will be interesting to see if he is back next year.

I bet there’s not much agreement on which candidate is the Dark Knight, which is an American Psycho, and which is a Charismatic Crack Addict, according to Crystal and those who share his ideology.
Bringing to mind the old saying, “If you have to explain a joke, it’s not funny.”
He was introducing someone, who must have been in those movies. It was the only anti pubbie comment all night so I did not take offense.
