Kathleen Sebelius: (new) Rule coming soon on contraception coverage
Politico ^ | February 28, 2012 | KATE NOCERA

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says the Obama administration plans to issue a rule "in the near future" on its compromise plan on contraception coverage and is meeting with insurers, clergy and health leaders to get feedback on how to make it work.

“We’ve begun outreach. I have talked to Catholic health leaders, I’m reaching out to priests. We’re also talking to union leaders, we’re talking to our partners at labor who run the self-insured plans to figure out a strategy,” Sebelius told reporters at a conference in D.C. on Tuesday.

“We intend to propose a rule in the near future on some implementation strategies that I think do exactly what the president says –- which is make sure women have preventive health services and respect religious freedom," Sebelius said.

A final rule on preventive services for women has already been issued, requiring employers to cover all FDA-approved contraception. The rule exempted only churches and grandfathered plans, but Obama announced earlier this month that faith-based employers will not need to provide the free contraceptive coverage to employees. Instead, insurance companies will have to pick up the cost.

“This will be an implementation rule, so we’ll propose it and have it in place in time,” Sebelius said. “For those religious employers who do not fall under the exemption, their implementation deadline is August of 2013. So we have 18 months, but we intend to move well ahead of that deadline."

It is the inner soul that gives the exterior its beauty or ugliness. Most physical features are fairly neutral in and of themselves, but are animated by our inner being, (proof of a higher power beyond our own selfness)... animated by self alone the outward features express a guarded clutchiness, absorbing into one’s self, creating tension on the exterior. The overall effect is unattractive.

But, animated by self under the influence of the Holy Spirit the outward features express a vulnerable giving up of self, relieving exterior tension, making the exterior peaceable and approachable. The overall effect is an attractiveness.

Baby killers are ugly on the outside because they are ugly on the inside, self-serving and hard, they claim it is their freedom, but it is their hell and they wish to extend their hell to the rest of us.

The choice facing the Church is clear.

Either the Bishops need to take to the pulpits loudly, firmly, and in one voice saying that “unless President Obama decides to reverse this policy, voting to re-elect him is tantamount to a sin”, or acquiesce and become irrelevant as the Church in Europe has done.

I frankly don’t think they have the stomach for what needs to be done.

LOL Her appearance has nothing to do with the thread, but it is amazing that a woman that skinny can have so much wrinkled skin.

As for the deal the Bishops better bend over and spread em, there is another hit coming.

No matter how hard you try you cannot polish a turd.

Reading the posts, let's be careful we don't make this a "Catholic" issue, thereby playing into the Left's hands (and the leftist media, as well).

It's a religion and conscience freedom issue which cuts across all theologies and ideologies equally.

It seems odd that commpanies can be ordered to provide anything “free” of charge. Interesting how the word FREE means something completely different to the left than it does to those who love freedom. It must ever be stressed that there is no such thing as a product or service that is free. Someone else pays for it.

The ever-alert, beady eyes in the rodent-like visage of Madame Siberius at the top of this thread reminds me of those African meercats who pop up out of their dirt burrows one after another, stand on their hind legs, crane their necks....constantly and nervously scanning the horizon for impending peril from dangerous liberty-loving conservatives and Tea Partiers.

What is more important is that contraception IS NOT HEALTH CARE! It is an interruption of the normal, HEALTHY consequences of sexual activity.

The reason why it is healthy is because it protects, mostly women, from diseases, out of wedlock pregnancy, and the social consequences of being less than cautious with sexuality.

“A final rule on preventive services for women has already been issued, requiring employers to cover all FDA-approved contraception.”

If the rule is to require that women cost more for an employer, it is only fair to reduce their pay accordingly...

right? crickets.....

They MUST state that a vote for Obama is a MORTAL SIN and puts ones immortal soul in jeopardy of eternal damnation.

“Grow some stones gentlemen”!

“For those religious employers who do not fall under the exemption, their implementation deadline is August of 2013. So we have 18 months, but we intend to move well ahead of that deadline."

And they will meet many obstructions along the way. Churches will not comply with this mandate and insurance companies will litigate this or stall as best they can until a Court decision can be reached. Americans are not going to comply, no matter how the media spins it.

Scrap the CCHD to start. And if the USCCB can’t be scrubbed and restarted from scratch...

These were started from motives that were not pure; There were ulterior motives, whether a lot of the participants knew it or not. It has been the fast track of infiltration.

Many will jump on me for this statement... It wouldn’t be the first time.

God’s will be done.

Fast and pray, we’ll need it. See Lk 3:17 and Is 33:11
