Obama refused, until two months ago, to impose tough sanctions on Iran, increasing the likelihood of an Israeli attack. Already, speculation that such a strike might be in the offing is driving up oil prices. His anti-Israeli policies have diminished that nations confidence that it can rely on the United States to handle Iranian nuclear ambitions.
The presidents veto of the Keystone pipeline and his refusal to drill in Alaskas Arctic National Wildlife Refuge makes it crystal-clear to voters that there will be no relief coming from the north.
His stubborn refusal to issue deep-water drilling permits despite having officially lifted the moratorium he imposed after the BP spill is costing us hundreds of thousands of daily barrels in domestic production.
His relentless crusade against oil company tax privileges undermines our ability to explore, drill and produce oil.
As gas prices rise, Obama owns them. His public stands against oil drilling are coming back to haunt him. After his approval ratings peaked at 50 percent, Rasmussen and Gallup both have him back in the mid-40s.
Obama proudly points to the fact that we are producing more oil domestically than we have for some years. True. But thats because Bush issued permits for a massive expansion in offshore drilling and exploration on federal lands. And its because private and state land is being used for horizontal drilling and fracking despite the increasing objections of Obamas EPA.
Globally, a 3 million-barrel increase in oil production would be huge about a 4 percent increase in global supply. Those 3 million new North American barrels will make it possible for the United States to cut off all imports from the nations that hate us: Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Russia, Algeria.

I sincerely hope it costs him and the Mrs. 4 more years.
The Unions OWN Santo and Willard...
A Santo-Willardian Presidency would be too little too late..
ONLY Newt has a prayer of fixing things..
NO Newt and the republicans would get the blame for all or most of Negrodamus’s massive destruction of America.. YES... that means a Santo or Romney presidency..
Santo and Willard are Used Jesus Salesmen...
Newt’s Jesus looks more like G. Gordon Liddy...
I don’t know about the rest of you freepers but I’m willing to sacrifice disposable income if gas prices rise up to 4 - 5 bucks a gallon if it dooms an Obama presidency. Right now with the prospect of Mitt Romney being his challenger, we need all the help we can get.
Hopefully, even Mittens would put policies in place after becoming president that would lower the price of gas at the pumps. More motorcycle riding....
*No Gulf of Mexico Drilling
*No Alaska Drilling
*Opposing fraking
*Figuring out how to oppose RF heating of Oil Sands
Higher prices at the pump is part of his strategy. He's actively encouraging this, not fixing it. This is really a sad commentary about the collective awareness of our citizenry.
All that printing is coming home to roost..
That's why a 13,000 dow is not really a 13,000 dow
should be at least 16,000 to be the same

whatever Dick.
This guy some how acquired a teflon coating by the press and all those who voted for him.
Sure, I have heard rumblings about his performance and have yet to hear a cogent and measurable defense of his performance. Wait, “he got Bin Laden”.....
Sure, and that is what anyone should have done but what has he done to your kitchen table issues?
Gas prices? Through the frickin roof. But have no fear, around August he will release some of the strategic reserve in the hopes it will have an effect on the market.
It will only lead to his followers saying “well he tried” or “He had good intentions”.
Screw actual performance.
Hey, but not let’s totally distracted. How is everyone’s electric bill these days?
By what measure has Barrack or any, ANY, of his policies demonstrably and measurably improved the quality of life, chances for a job or security?
Anyone?
A big republican win in November will add a couple of years to the death spiral we’re in, perhaps 5 years at the outside.
Don’t forget
“we strongly approve of his skin color”
as well.
I’d like to believe this; but I have a problem believing anything Dick Morris says because he don’t know dick.

Obama Administration's Secretary of Energy
He said this as the director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory BEFORE Obama named him to be the Secretary of Energy.
Now, Gingrich can capitalize on that outright admission that the Administration is totally callous as to what the Obama policy is doing to force working Americans into poverty.
It shows no empathy for American citizens who often, in their desire to work, drive 40+ miles each way, sometimes at jobs which do not pay high wages, and that they are being sacrificed on the altar of "environmentalism" and lust for power by its worshippers.
Here in America, we should be paying about $1.00/Gallon before all local, state and federal taxes. I think the number was average $1.50 after all the taxes.
I don’t remember where I got that info as it was in 2010. But it included the potential supply and refinement we could muster regulation didn’t impede the free market. It also noted, as I recall, that much of the price reduction would come from an added 4% to 5% to the world market supply. Another element would come from Opec competition and the lowering of their prices. There was some speculation that America’s mass production and export would also drive futures down. Finally, they say the cost to local refineries and shipping would relieve some of the pressure.
I wish I could find the article. It was complicated and speculative but did well to try and explain the “American cost structure” behind the cost of gasoline. It has a lot of components for a simple crude commodity.
The point is, every component of the market that affects what we pay at the pump is under constant attack from regulation, taxes and restrictions. Our government has worked to artificially inflate the price we pay at the pump by stifling production, stifling refinement, stifling shipping, stifling exploration, stifling extraction, stifling supply, and stifling the formulas.
Much of the Middle East pays less than $1.00 but is heavily subsidized and not taxed.
And, he still stands in contempt of court (an impeachable offense, BTW) for retaining his moratorium on DW exploration in the Gulf.
Your post is not helpful to the conservative cause
MrB,
You optimism is showing and I fear it is misplaced.
I have NO confidence the American electorate will cast aside the poser in chief come November. Mostly as a result of piss poor GOP candidates.
As for the congress? American voters are REAL stupid there too.
