In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.

We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.

Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.

Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:

I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.

Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.

Someone at work just made an interesting comment:
That he died the day of or the day before Sheriff Arpaio (sp) of AZ was supposed to have his "Obama Birth Investigation" presentation.

Might as well have the media chasing the Bretbart story in Los Angeles, CA rather than a Phoenix, AZ story.

I dunno...but men do drop dead at age 43 with unknown pre-existing conditions. Hope the autopsy isn't botched.

I wonder if he’s really dead or if he’s in witness protection? Something seems amiss here.

Better to have had Andrew and lost him than to not have had Andrew at all. Rest in Peace Andrew and although it was short it was powerful and world changing. That is a life well lived.

I exchanged “tweets” on occasion with AB. He consistently re-tweeted some of the nasty, vile things that leftists would say to him. My jaw dropped to the floor more than once about this and I don’t know how he put up with that garbage. Very thick-skinned individual and a great champion for Sarah Palin. I had huge respect for him.
RIP, Breitbart! ...but he was too young to die of “natural causes”...what the heck does that mean?

My heart is just broken and i am stunned at Breibart’s passing. The air feels like it left the room...he has a wife and young children—prayers and good thoughts for them all.

Relative to your post, My husband had a near 100% blockage of his LAD. I got him to the ER in time; he literally collapsed on the floor there; emergency cathetierization was done. First thing the surgeon said, after the fact, he “beat” the “widow maker.” DH was 51. His dad died at 54 of a massive coronary. So did his two uncles (youngest was 42; next one was also in early 50 also). It runs in families (I am scared to death for my boys). I am sure they family health history (is his dad still alive? Does he have brothers or uncles with cardio issues?)

I am sure more will come out, but I cannot let go the idea he was such a voice AGAINST Obama. He HAD info to “vet” him THIS election. I pray again for his family—but also for our Country. If this is natural, then it’s G-d’s plan...if not...may he help us all.

That is one chillingly accurate description. Now I’m totally creeped out.

There is NO ONE who replaces his FEARLESSNESS. In that style of utter FEARLESSNESS, he is distinctly IRREPLACEABLE!

Oh, that you and I should be so brave as Andy, the great patriot thunder foot willing to tread on serpents.

This is why he was brave. Either he knew he was risking a mysterious “early heart attack” or else the Almighty hinted to him he wouldn’t have much time.

A patriot and a hero.

Andy lived his life boldly, unafraid and guided by his strong convictions. This hard working patriot will be missed. He seemed to live a happy life, yet regrettably, way too short.

Thank you for all that you did Andy.

RIP Andrew Breitbart.

Thank you. I was just going to post this:

When He calls any of us to the office, who are we to argue? I'll always remember 9-12-09. The Palin-Beck-Breitbart axis, especially in my locale (Chicago).
Good times. Good times.
We'll carry on, bigger and better than ever. They ain't seen NOTHING yet.

Ventricular fibrillation is most often caused by sudden occlusion of the left anterior decending coronary artery by delamination of an atheromatous plaque or develelopement of a clot in that artery due to nonlaminar flow of blood. In other words,..a suddend occlusion of that artery. Also ischemic heart disease is probably one of the most common causes. Drug toxicities such as phenothiazine toxicity. Other causes might include mitral valve prolapse (more common in females). Profound hypothermia can also cause sudden ventricular fibrillation. Sudden rupture of a papillary muscle can cause this condition.

All result in this same ventricular dysrhythmia and sudden death.

I followed AB too...and just damn, my thoughts “went there” too. And I want to go back and reread a lot of that crap. It’s chilling to think like this.

Not the day before. The day OF.

He’s walking ALONE in LA at 12 midnight their time, 12 hours before Sheriff Joe’s report, AKA at high noon. What was the time of death? The public release of death is written up and released by 6 am. There are now ‘heart problems’ and ‘natural causes’ reports, but no confirmation.

When is the autopsy and toxicology report due? Is there an obit already out in Australia—in print?

"What causes that? High blood pressure?"

I am not sure of all causes. In my husbands case I think it was a combination of things. He had an artificial aortic valve so he had to be on blood thinners. He takes blood pressure meds so his blood pressure was stable, but he was quite a bit over weight. He had been doing some heavy lifting and I think the strain in lifting put pressure on his brain and caused the vein to break. The next morning I noticed him walking funny and grabbing onto the kitchen counter. He survived and was able to drive again but never the same as before.

A year ago that artificial valve had to be removed because scar tissue was growing around it and narrowing off the opening. This time they put in a pig valve and his Blood Pressure meds were cut back and he no longer has to be on blood thinners. But now he is diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease. He has had a lot of things going on in his life, but he takes it in stride.

Andrew loved the battle and he knew the stakes.

Chilling comment.

If you combined everyone in Congress, they wouldn’t have one-tenth of Breitbart’s guts and patriotism, in my opinion.

This smells very suspicious to everyone I talk to. Expect a major cover up.
