PHOENIX - Just when it seemed the Barack Obama citizenship flap had faded into the background, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has turned the spotlight back on.
On Thursday Arpaio charged the birth certificate Obama says proves he is a U.S. citizen is a fraud, contending a forensic examination of the electronic document posted last year by the White House proves that it was not simply scanned into a file but actually put together in several pieces.
Mike Zullo, head of the sheriff's Cold Case Posse who headed the investigation, said the inconsistencies in the document cannot be explained away by claims it was optimized or had been scanned with optical character-recognition software.
Zullo also said a separate examination proves Obama's 1980 Selective Service registration also is a fake.
The White House, which thought the issue had been put to sleep with the posting of the birth certificate, had no comment.
While saying the evidence proves that a crime was committed, Arpaio was careful not to implicate the president.
"I'm not accusing anyone of anything until we find out who may have committed these alleged crimes over this birth certificate and the Selective Service card," Arpaio said.
Arpaio brushed aside a question of why he was able to find such evidence when no one else in the country has. The sheriff said he probably was the only one who bothered to investigate in detail.
Zullo also said the fact the Honolulu newspaper had a birth announcement at the time proves nothing, saying the newspaper accepted such messages without requiring proof the person actually had been born in the state.
And Zullo insisted Arpaio has jurisdiction.

The candidate that takes the side of the sherriff wins this election. The only one capable of doing that and articulating correctly is Newt. I hope he takes up the cause. The only reason that this fraud was committed was to answer the Donald, a fraud himself. I can have my differences with Trump, but he made the White House respond like no one else. Newt needs to go after this. Can someone reach out to him.
Don’t get your hopes up just yet. Arpaio has committed to nothing that includes a criminal investigation of the actual birth doos from Hawaii. In fact, he avoided it like the plague.
Did Arpaio or Zullo address the phony SSN# from Connecticut?

Well, of course not. Obama doesn't have the skill to produce such a document. Of course he could find the person who could find the person to create the fake doc.
Can it be raised to the statewide level now, and Obama can be prevented from fielding electors for the Electoral College out of the state of Arizona, due to ineligibility under state Secretary of State laws? Can the statehouse now move to bar him from appearing on ballots in November?
There were no airline records. The airlines referred them to the INS documents of airline passengers at the National Archives. All of the records for the first week of August 1961 were missing.
That is what I suggest sheriff Joe to do - pressure the AZ SOS to reject obama’s forged bc and take obama’s name off the ballot unless he provides authentic document to prove he is eligible to be placed on the Az ballot!
(Note - not that obama or his thugs have provided the AZ SOS any bc, but he has personally claimed that the April 2010 online bc is real; and the DNC claims that he is constitutionally elig, implying they have vetted obama with the forged online bc... so the AZ SOS can legitimately reject the forged bc as proof of his elig and require authentic document to prove.......)
