Boehner calls Limbaugh remarks "inappropriate"

House Speaker John Boehner distanced himself on Friday from Rush Limbaugh, calling the conservative radio host's words toward a women's rights advocate "inappropriate."

Amid a growing media firestorm over comments Wednesday by Limbaugh toward Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown Law student who testified before a Democratic panel on the use of contraception, Washington's top Republicans said through a spokesman that Limbaugh was wrong.

"The speaker obviously believes the use of those words was inappropriate, as is trying to raise money off the situation," Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said in a statement.

Today’s Lesson:

It’s not OK to call an activist who goes before Congress asking that the American people pay for her recreational sex a “slut”.

But it is OK to call Americans whose activism has absolutely nothing to do with sex, “tea-baggers”

I heard the program.

I was not offended.

I am, however, offended by Boehner.

And I am a WOMAN.

Rush said that women who get paid to have sex are sluts/prostitutes.

Is that not true this week?

Haven't y'all figured this out by now?

The guy should have said, we have a free country and I don't say such things, but Rush is free to say what he things..We have free speech in this country...

The guy could have made a good point on free speech and caved and then went back to his office and shed a few tears.....

Where are the Tea Party congressmen? They need to start putting serious pressure on the GOP leadership - reform or get the hell out.

That is true but they are too junior to go up against the senior guys. I know that is ridiculous but I swear that government is run like the military where “rank has it’s privileges”. They are probably told everyday where they are on the ladder and stay in your “pay grade”. I guarantee that is how it works. Otherwise you would have more freshmen speaking out. They know that they are not allowed to yet. One guy who sorta spoke out was Representative West who in his first term caused a bunch of drama (per GOP) and now he is being threatened with losing his seat.....I don’t doubt that the senior Republicans were part of this.

Spineless - this would have been a perfectly good opportunity to address the real issue, whether the Federal Government has the right to tell private businesses and their insurance companies what procedures they have to cover. Instead he buys the obfuscation of the issue that the left has concocted here - the left loves this, they have everyone talking about Rush’s comments instead of the actual issue, and Boenher plays along....

I'd cut taxes every hour,
Slash regulatory powers
And make Obama whine.
And I never would be chicken,
'Cause his thin ass I'd be kickin'
If I only had a spine.

Boehner has a Primary Challenger named David Lewis. Perhaps it is time to send Lewis some cash prior to Tuesday? Would be nice to get Boehner out of there and get Rep. Gohmert nominated as Speaker

Really? This is interesting. Let's keep this front & center.

Why do the House Republicans keep re-electing this loser?

Because most of them are Dem lites like he is. We don’t need more GOP congressmen, we need more conservatives.

Democrats urge Boehner to "repudiate" comments by Limbaugh on contraception testimony
CBS News ^ | 03/01/2012 | By Leigh Ann Caldwell

A group of Democratic members of Congress are continuing the political war over contraception and the latest move puts House Speaker John Boehner on the spot. Seventy-five lawmakers are urging the speaker to "repudiate" comments made by conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

The Democrats signed a letter to the speaker over comments Limbaugh made on his show on Wednesday calling a Georgetown University law student and women's health advocate a "prostitute" and a "slut" after her testimony before a mock Congressional hearing on birth control coverage.

Using the airwaves to launch a "direct attack on a private citizen is unacceptable," New York Rep. Louise Slaughter wrote to Speaker Boehner. "Mr. Limbaugh repeatedly used sexually charged, patently offensive, and obscene language to malign the character of this courageous young woman who has chosen to be the voice for many of her peers," the letter said.

Boehner's spokesperson declined to comment on on the letter.

The establishment Republicans always....ALWAYS.... allow the Democrats to frame the debate. That is the main reason most are such losers.
