Woman called 'slut' by Limbaugh is 'stunned, outraged'
MSNBC ^ | 3/2/2012 | Halimah Abdullah

Posted on 03/02/2012 10:07:46 AM PST by South40

The ongoing debate over birth control took a particularly nasty turn recently when conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh called Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and “prostitute” for speaking out about the issue.

Fluke, a birth control activist, spoke with TODAY’s Matt Lauer about Limbaugh’s comments and the failure of a GOP-sponsored amendment that would have allowed employers at religious institutions to opt out of providing contraception in health plans.

I will be stunned and outraged if Saturday Night Live doesn’t have a skit on this, this weekend!

I’ll probably be sleeping when it comes on, but I’ll STILL be STUNNED AND OUTRAGED!

"Outraged??? The taxpayers who would foot the bill for her excessive sex drive (her own admission) are the ones who should be outraged. ... She is a self-described slut who is pandering to the taxpayer to “pay” for her habits; thus fitting the label of prostitute.

What is your source for these statements? At Post 88 there is a link to a transcript of her prepared statement. If you read it carefully, NO WHERE does she say that she PERSONALLY uses birth control or has sex. If I missed something in my three readings, please point it out to me.

Was there subsequent testimony not included in her prepared statement where she self-describes herself as a "slut" or states she has an excessive sex drive? If so, I'd appreciate a link, so I can read up on it.

Now I don't think much of her logic skills ... she chose to attend a Jesuit University and the Catholic Church's teaching is not merely against birth control, it is against extra-marital sex. She wants to claim victim status because " ... we refuse to pick between a quality education and our health." So there is no other quality law school besides Georgetown? And Georgetown doesn't endanger your health - you endanger your health by having extra-marital sex. Georgetown simply refuses to be an enabler for this destructive behavior.

The only part of her testimony that has any resonance with me is regarding women who need to be treated with contraceptives for ovarian disease. The Catholic Church has made clear that such a use of these drugs is permissable within the Church's teachings, and insurance companies should be paying for medications to actually treat a disease.

But pregnancy is NOT a disease ...

wiki - In 2010, the “Plan A: Hoyas for Reproductive Justice” campaign led several protests against the school policy against the sale of birth control on campus,[152] and in 2007, Georgetown University Law Center students protested the University’s decision to cease funding for a student’s internship at Planned Parenthood’s litigation department despite funding it previous years.[153] Chains Effective for Georgetown Protesters
Students angry over having to leave campus to purchase birth control Monday, Mar 29, 2010 - The students are part of a group called Plan A: Hoyas for Reproductive Justice. They are upset having to leave campus to purchase condoms and other birth control. The students and staff also want the school’s health plan to cover birth control and other reproductive choices.

Other student protesters shouted their message through megaphones stating, “We are unofficial because Georgetown refuses to take care of the sexual health of its students.” Some students held banners. One read, “My body, my campus.”

Around 8:00 p.m., a university official sent letters stating they would hold a meeting with the protestors on Tuesday.

Two months ago, Plan A sent a letter to Georgetown University administrators asking for a meeting so they could address their complaints.

Since the group did not get the response they wanted, they decided to hold a public protest.

While their fight is far from over, Plan A members are thrilled at the progress of their push.

“It showed we are ready to stop at nothing to get justice”, said student Julia Shindel.

A Jesuit priest founded Georgetown University in 1789. School officials describe it as “rooted in the Catholic faith” while being “invigorated by religious and cultural pluralism”.

And while some firms might hire her on as an associate, just for laughs, I really don’t see her on a partnership track.

That's true. How does she expect to be taken seriously after this?

Unfortunately, she may have a future like Monica Lewinsky's. Which is not much, sadly.

You said....
“Again, she's a stupid liberal activist, but she said nothing of her own sex life.”

I haven't caught all of this woman's testimony but she is a symbol of what we face as a country...”you're all responsible for me.” We have too many stupid liberal activists and they're winning. The more welfare and handouts you create, the harder it's going to be for the people who will have to take them away someday.

My tagline sums it up best.

There might be a real stinker coming out in the evening dump again. They have done this before, several times - set the agenda for the weekend topics.

The bigger issue to me is we are raising more and more people that expect the state to provide what, in the past, individuals did for themselves.

What happens when, not if, the welfare state needs to be rolled back for our fiscal survival you now created a new victim class that will fight for what they believe they’re “entitled” to.

I fear for the future of this country and my wife and I have had serious discussions if we may have to leave the country after retirement.

Dave Ramsey once said that we have two big problems facing this country. An out of control government and envy

I was thinking more in terms of this entire fake hysteria being used as a distraction from something else entirely.

Though your point is well taken - everyone is talking about it and it is, according to a few sites and twitter feeds, being used to spin the anti-Santorum / anti-Catholic (Georgetown is a Catholic run institution, right?) meme.

He main ammunition re: the provision of BC was in reference to “someone she knew” whose unspecified life-threatening female problem “could have been helped by BC”.

In other words even she knew that just being a whoor isn’t good enough reason to provide BC to stop babies and that religious institutions should pay for it, she had to spin it as a medical necessity.

She’s a paid for whore, likely ideologically as well as sexually...and while we’re at it, she isn’t employed so she’s not a contributing working American - just a leech.

At the heart of the matter, egocentric people like her want the public to pay for their pleasures that result from their wanton behaviors.

In her case, the sausage-hole wants her recreational sex on our dime.

Lovely, that.

The next time she's called before Congress to testify her hedonism for public view, she might also wish to demand that we all pay for her booze and smokes as those two and her recreational sex are nothing but a behavioral means to an end, physical pleasure.

Selfish, smarmy, skanky slut she is.

Exactly.

Taking sex pills has NOTHING to do with “medical problems”, any more than smoking or alcohol does.

(Except the VERY few who take it for hormonal issues. But we all know that’s not the case here.)

It can lead to some medical problems, though - just like the other indulgences! LOL
