Had BO been born to a white Christian mother and a black father - descended from slaves - with deep American roots - he could have been a great healer and uniter.
Sadly, he has shown no desire to unite us - rather he is driving us apart - rich vs. poor, black vs. white, Christian vs. secular, etc.,
There are many great black Americans who have excelled in a wide variety of industry and academia. They are the true inspiration to Americans of all creeds & color.

Obamas legacy as an African American historical figure should be judged primarily by tangible evidence of his sacrifices and gifts to the black community, and not by his popularity among the white community
the descendants of our historical oppressors. plain english version - the racism never stops does it?

His path of destruction has been wide and deep... and if he had his way he would "eliminate" all of his "enemies"... so he is somewhat like Idi Amin... so with regards to demonic black despots... he is right up there with Mugabe and Idi.

Don't be silly. In a list that includes Aesop, Hannibal, Cleopatra, Zenobia, Askia the Great, the Mahdi, Robert Browning, Dom Pedro, Alexandre Dumas, Socrates, and many others, Obama rates very low indeed.

Clarance Thomas, Walter Williams, and Thomas Sewall would have to be dead for centuries in order for their IQ to sink to the Cretin-in-Chief’s level.
Obama is a vapid dork.
Repeat after me...
Obama is a vapid dork.
There, doesn’t the truth feel better?

To obtain a true ranking of his greatness among blacks - since he is half black / half white - you would have to:
1) quantify his “black” greatness
2) double it
3) position his greatness accurately among all black candidates
You could also do the same for his “white” greatness.

“...For many centuries, the epitome of African American achievement has been to become the first black president...”
For many centuries???? The country is less than two and a half centuries old so the opening of the article is weirdly worded.
Politicians are not as highly respected at military men so fighter pilots who went up the ranks to make general like Chappie James reached the epitome of “arriving” long before Obama. Boys dream about being fighter pilots and generals more often than president I would venture.
But the main thing is that Obama is a huge failure as president, lacks substance, and only delivers jive in a sterotypical manner that should be especially offensive to Blacks.

Many American Blacks do not consider Obama to be a real Black man at all, much less the ‘greatest’.
Many of the parade of ‘Revs’ who claim to be Black leaders have said so.
Obama has not lived what is called in America "the Black experience".

depends who's being asked...
If those who are savvy to the constitution and what this country is made of, no.
If you're of any other ethnic origin besides Caucasian and are a racist, dependent on government or think government should be controlling, if you believe deceit should win you status, the list is long but i’ll cut it short... if you're one of these kinda people, then yes, Obama is the greatest black man ever....

Wow, don’t even know where to begin.
I would say that if I had to choose the greatest black man ever, it would be between Mansa Musa, Frederick Douglas, WEB Du Bois, or Booker T Washington.
I don’t neccesarily agree with all of their views, but those 4 men alone are categories above Obama.
