Looking to the general election, the president leads Romney 48% to 42%. If Rick Santorum is the Republican nominee, the president leads 46% to 43%. Liberals have no principles other than socialism and vote in whatever's on the top of the ticket.
I’d like to know who these people are who Rasmussen keeps polling? Who in the world thinks Obama is better than any candidate we have on the republican side? This is nuts! Gas prices skyrocketing, unemployment skyrocketing, and a president and an energy secretary saying this is exactly what they want - and more people agree with them than disagree??
6 percentage points... 3 percentage points... in a sane world, these would be the skid mark’s approval ratings. Absolutely unbelievable.
That’s not an accurate analogy. Our principle is conservatism and we’re looking for it. I think most Gingrich and Santorum supporters will vote for the other guy. It’s Romney who is questionable. We want a candidate that represents our ideology and policies as much as liberals do. That’s why some of them voted for Nader. I’m sure if they nominated Joe Manchin, a lot of them would stay home or vote third party too. Difference is, the liberal base seems capable of nominating someone who represents their values, whereas we don’t. Which I have trouble understanding since supposedly twice as many Americans are conservative vs. liberal.
No Republican with principles supports Romney.
Ignore polls 6 months before election. 96.5% of people do not yet know where any candidates stand on issues.
Ronald Reagan was polling way behind Jimah Carter just a few months before election.
I sincerely hope you are wrong and that most republicans are intelligent adults who can tell the difference between 4 more years of 0Bama and his GOP opponent.
Simple answer, the poll is BS.
No conservative would even consider placing a vote for that Massachusetts socialist liberal.
When we get past the nomination, I will enroll in the campaign of whomever the candidate is to get 0bama out of the White House. (At 63 yrs this would be the first time I am willing to go all out.)
I may like some of them better than others, but I do know that whoever it is, they are much more likely to listen to me then 0bama and his minions.
I guess I have just come to be one of those ABO guys.
I guess I have a vested interest. I have two kids serving in the military, and I have become convinced that 0bama is much more likely to get them killed than just about anyone else. (I keep seeing this picture of Neville Chamberlain in 1938(?) waving that piece of paper around “Peace in our time”.
How did that work out?
Also keep in mind that they are doing these polls with as yet no decided nominee. Talk about a ridiculous poll.
Santorum is doing better than Romney with less money and the media attacks. I think once the nominee is chosen and the main campaign gets going, Obama will take a hit in the polls.
The Republicans are beating the crap out of each other not Obama.
All hypothetical polls matching any Republican presently vying for the nomination against Obama are meaningless.
“No Republican with principles supports Romney.”
AMEN and AMEN!!!!!!!!!
Santorum and Newt are the only acceptable candidates. Romney WILL NOT get my vote for any reason. I was bashed big time this morning from FREEPERS no doubt and I still am standing by my principles of NO ROMNEY!!!!
Romney is 100% un-electable. He will be EVISCERATED if the nominee.
What principles do these “principled” republicans (definitely not conservatives) show with their support for Romney?
I’ll support any conservative the republicans nominate. Conservatives have problems with liberals like Romney. I have already voted for Newt in the Florida Primary. I would have voted for Santorum if I lived in Michigan.
Republican Elites wish their party was filled with liberals since liberals have no problem with zombie voting. The liberals vote any way their party masters tell them to vote. The democrats don’t even have to be zombies, even the dead vote democrat without having to leave the grave.
And yet... The Rinos at Faux News constantly assure us that milt is infinitely more electable than anyone else...
Once this gets real against Obama with whoever, that + for Obama is going to go in to a deep negative terrirory, but it will never get reported and the Republican successes will be reported as a great surprise to the media.
I’m not buying any of these polls. Everywhere I go that I mention Zero’s name, profanity is filling the air. Absolutely no one I know or talk to will vote for him.
I agree 100%. I can support either Gingrich or Santorum, but I refuse to vote for Mitt Romney.
These lying polls are designed to depress conservatives, nothing more. Rasmussen is a lying son of a snake like the rest of them.
And yes, Rasmussen the rat puts out a poll that’s fairly accurate right before an election. He has to in order to cover his lies and cover his lying ass. But all the polling running up to an election is one lie after another.
Remember, none of these lying rat pollsters predicted that the republicans would take the US House in the numbers they did. And not a one of these Marxists published a poll showing that republicans would elect 700 patriots to state legislatures, effectively taking control of 26 states. Not-a-one!
So, everybody, cool your jets. All you’re seeing is the rat machine in propaganda mode. Send them a polite note, telling them to F’ off.
While it is true that the Republicans have been bashing one another, they have attacked Obama, too. What is true is that Obama hasn't really started his attacks on the ultimate nominee, yet. Given the mountain of campaign funds that Obama has assembled, the assistance of the MSM, and viciousness of Obama campaign people (which even Mitt Romney can't match), the Republican candidate starts at a significant disadvantage. What these polls seem to show is that all the potential Republican nominees are vulnerable to personal attacks in the general election. I'm not sure I can understand why but Obama definitely has the likability edge in the eyes of most of the electorate.
The Republican nominee's best chance is to accentuate the differences between himself and Obama. We're not going to beat Tweedledum with Tweedledee. Huge policy differences can insulate the Republican nominee from personal attacks to a large degree.
I've never seen the Freepers this divided and so much rancor amongst us. I don't hold out much hope.
It’s quite amazing that Obama beats anyone and has an approval in the mid to high 40s.
Any Repub, with this economic record, would be in the low 20s.
The media is so corrupt. Obama attacks religious freedom. It ends up being spun as the Republicans war on woman. Obama’s energy policies result in $4 gas. It ends up being the fault of Wall Street, Speculators, and Oil Companies. Anyone but Obama.
The guy is teflon.
Santorum supporters are grasping for a life line now that he's clearly seeing the downside of a peak.
America apparently wants socialism.
