He is also using Palin’s name, and Palin has made it clear she supports Gingrich, she even had Todd endorse him.

It’s not all bad nor all good. The truth is somewhere in between the extremes you hear on FR.

Wow.

Great title -- "A Pious Man's Impious Acts." I really hope Santorum supporters read the whole thing and think about the values their "values" candidate exhibits, including parsing praise to make it look like endorsement. The great and wise Thomas Sowell, on the other hand, says straight out: Gingrich is the best one running. Sowell is right because he is informed. The uninformed are playing with fire.

The right choice is clear.

Godspeed Newt Gingrich.

I have a "nurturing" Theory about Rush's "slut" remarks ...

First, of course, he's correct ... any Woman in any office, bar, church, etc ... who said that she needs $ 3,000 annually to supoort her (unmarried) sexual addiction ...

is accurately called a "slut" ...

However ... there's a chance that Rush deliberately brought the "gasoline AND the matches" and escalated this to a Nuclear DefCon-1 level ...

WHY ?

Perhaps to take the National attention from the Super Tuesday primaries ... Newt's possible strategic gains ... Santorum's lost status ... and Romney's embarrassment ...

After all ... Super Tuesday is already "page six" news for the next week ...

"Just a theory ... that happens to fit the facts ..."

Spock, Star Trek VI, "The Undiscovered Country" ...

Yes ... Santorum and Willard ...

Rush's "closet" endorsements ...

Need proof ?

I've just read tonight (2012-02-03) at Free Republic that "Little Ricky" is running advertisements that say that:

"Rush Limbaugh supports Rick Santorum" ...

Will Rush DEMAND an IMMEDIATE retraction ?

Never ...

The only thing that is an endorsement is a statement saying “I endorse”. Anybody who is stupid enough to read simply statements of praise as “endorsements” deserves to be “fooled” by their own stupidity.

Cain wanted Romney to be President, and now he wants Newt to be President.

LOL, who cares about Cain, I don’t.

Always pushing the Romney angle, you love to mention Cain having endorsed Romney.

Romney is a loser buddy.

Cain is campaigning in Tennessee for Newt Gingrich. He also has been helping the campaign in Georgia.

I know this because other Gingrich supporters have posted the information, because it is important to them.

I can’t help what you think is important. Although you really seem to think it is important that ROmney had Rick Santorum’s endorsement in 2008.

I don’t know why you pester me about Cain, I have never had anything to do with him, I don’t care about Cain and never have, your obsession with the guy is baffling, week after week about Cain.

Yes, Rick Santorum was pro-abortion, and first ran as a "Progressive Conservative", and that is what he had printed into his campaign materials.

Santorum supported Arlen Specter for President

Here is who Santorum wanted for President, (and years later saved him in a Senate race).
"For Specter, who later became a Democrat, his pro-abortion-rights position was a centerpiece of his campaign. Specter believed that anti-abortion activists were a “fringe” group hijacking the Republican party.
“There are clearly more Republicans who are pro-choice,” Specter told Newsday’s Susan Page. “Up until now, I am the only person willing to take on the fringe.” After Specter dropped out of the race, he led an ill-fated movement to change the anti-abortion provision in the Republican party platform."

I’m sorry you have problems with simple debate points.

You should realize that not everything is about you.

If you make a statement in a public forum, others are going to point out the logical fallacies of your argument. Sometimes they might use a comparative argument. That comparison may not be something you care about.

Like, if you think it’s a big deal that Santorum endorsed Romney, and hope that others think “Santorum couldn’t be a conservative, he endorsed Romney”, then someone else, who thinks your argument is unpersuasive, will point out the illogic of that argument by noting some other person, who many KNOW to be conservative, who did exactly the same thing.

So you say “Santorum endorsed Romney, and now Santorum endorsed himself”. I respond with “Cain endorsed Romney, and now Cain endorsed Gingrich”.

Now, you may not think Cain was a conservative, and therefore the argument is unpersuasive to you. But others here DO think Cain was and is a conservative, and for them, the juxtaposition of the two statements should reveal the logical fallacy of your argument.

I didn’t think I was overusing the Cain endorsement. I used to use the DeMint endorsement — another person most people believe is conservative, who also in 2008 endorsed Mitt Romney. And again, the purpose of pointing that out is to show the logical fallacy of your implied argument, that Santorum can’t be a good conservative because he endorsed Romney in 2008.

After this election is over, most conservatives will find a way to get over the endorsements of this cycle that they didn’t like. Some will dwell on them more than others.

I do see endorsements as a political tool, so I do mention them for political purposes. Personally, I find endorsements relatively useless, too often given for purpose of payback or favor. But I also don’t generally penalize politicians I like for endorsing the wrong candidates. Others do. I think if all of us claimed that luxury, we’d never elect a conservative again, because all of them have made bad endorsements.

But in fact, most people who claim to be upset about bad endorsements really just use those as political tools.

I will say that, as bad endorsements go, Santorum has a bad record. Not for the Romney endorsement, but for the Arlen Specter endorsement. Sometimes, I’ll point out the GIngrich endorsement of DeDe scozafossa, making the argument “every candidate makes bad endorsements”, rather than my argument of “you can’t judge a candidate by their endorsements”.

I didn’t explain all this for you; I doubt you read past the first sentence or two. But as I said, it’s not just you and me.

Geez. Are you pro choice like Newt is?

He seems to have a wavering view on this.

Want to play this game some further? I have some other clips of Newts sloppiness that you accuse Rick of.

This stuff about Santorum is shocking, evidently no one has bothered to look at the guy.

We should have asked why he broke records when he lost in a landslide for reelection.

The media and the left have gone after Gingrich for 35 years because he is a historical figure among American conservative heroes, there is nothing that we don’t know about the man that is negative, and most of it untrue, but Santorum, no one has dug into since he was just a weak, moderate Senator, but man, he has a heck of a dark history hiding back there.

This is much worse than I thought it was.
