I think Santorum is a fine, decent, religious & family man. I was for him until I learned more about his spending votes in congress for 20 years. Apparently Rick never met a spending bill he did not like. His excuse is “he had to do it”. The country can not survive another big spender.

Now I am back favoring Newt. Newt has some very major accomplishments in his record. The really major accomplishments are balancing budgets, welfare reform and 1994 contract with America. He has the guts to say no. He would be a phenomenally effective president.

“the little Republican primary voters prefer to follow the “lead” of past nominees McPain, Dole, and GHWB who can “instruct” them “clearly.” People need to know who’s turn it is!”

If this is the case, I don’t want to hear them complaining anymore.

Question: “Well, Doctor, what have we got — a Republic or a Monarchy?”

Benjamin Franklin: “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

Well, they are losing it.

Say what you will about Santorum, the simple fact is that people trusted him more over the other two candidates.

Santorum was the unknown, the voters of Pennsylvania knew him best and dumped him in a record breaking landslide rejection of him as a sitting Senator.

Newt, as a history making, effective, conservative, has been attacked by the media (and the gop-e) from the first time he started his lifelong fight to put conservatives in charge of America.

Google search Santorum, and tell me with a straight face if you believe the liberal media keeps it’s gloves off with Santorum.

There is a huge Morman population in Washington State and Romney has been running here for 6 years. No surprise at all. Good thing is it means nothing. No delegates go to straw poll winners. Willard wins democrat states and Washington State is a safe democrat state for Obama.

And the # 1 reason why Romney is not electable:

He is a LIAR on every major issue that is important to conservatives!

Liar, Liar, pants on fire.

2/3 voted against Romney. It’s just that they are split up 2.5 ways (with Newt being the 1/2).

this is crap.

Every major Republican was booted out in 2006. There was NO Republican voter enthusiasm, and in fact, MOST Republicans nationwide sat home to “teach” the Republicans a lesson.

Additionally, Santorum’s opponent was the son of a popular PA Gov who supposedly had the same socially conservative views as Santorum, eliminating that distinction. It was also a reelection year for Fast Eddie who was very popular (Swan got no traction). Even if Santorum had endorsed Toomey and had a spending record as clean as the white driven snow, he was still going down. And you know it.

Newt speaks conservative when it is beneficial to him:

TARP
Climate Change
Big Tent Republicanism “Scozzafava”
“Right-Wing” Social Engineering
Government’s Role in Health Care
“The Era of Reagan is over”

These don’t sound like conservative ideals which is why Newt isn’t trusted by many voters and is considered an opportunist. Newt is skilled in being able to talk two sides out of an issue so whichever side he wants to take, he can look back to the statement that supports that view and explain the other one away. With Mitt Romney, we call this “flip-flopping”, but with Newt, you call it “Churchillian”. Many conservatives aren’t buying it.

Search your memory of the last quarter century and tell me that Newt Gingrich is not one of the most attacked, smeared conservatives in all of American history.

Voters know almost nothing about Santorum and his Romney-like political “growth”, even his life as a pro-abortion Catholic is unknown.

With the exception of Arizona, as Romney won any state that McCain carried in the general election? Willard is a loser.
Conservatives will stay at home if he’s the nominee.

UH-OH,,,,,someone’s going to be in the $hits over at CNN and Yahoo...........they forgot to add the note at the bottom that says “Of course, if president obama were running in the caucuses with the Republicans, he would have won 97% of the votes”.
