Attack by Limbaugh Awakens a ‘Stop Rush’ Campaign

Actually, they are remobilizing. A Twitter account, “Stop Rush,” which has been dormant since late 2010, woke up on Wednesday, when Mr. Limbaugh first called the student, Sandra Fluke, a “slut.”

On Friday, as complaints from “Stop Rush” and others about Mr. Limbaugh’s comments mounted, a handful of companies said that they had halted their advertising on “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” at least temporarily.

One of the companies, Quicken Loans, wrote on Twitter, “Due to continued inflammatory comments — along with valuable feedback from clients and team members — QL has suspended ads on Rush Limbaugh program.”

Two mattress companies, Sleep Train and Sleep Number, made similar statements on Friday. A representative of Sleep Number wrote on Twitter, “Recent comments by Rush Limbaugh do not align w/ our values, so we made decision to immediately suspend all advertising on that program.”

Mr. Limbaugh’s comments on Wednesday about Ms. Fluke, who had testified in support of the Obama administration’s requirement that health insurance plans cover contraceptives for women, were immediately noticed by Media Matters, a liberal media monitoring group that has been raising red flags about Mr. Limbaugh’s language for years.

Remember, if soldiers of wars past decided they “just couldn’t go any further, that maybe they will lose the battle,” etc., we would’ve lost wars. This IS war, and there are wins and losses until you WIN the war. Dig deep within yourself for the courage and fire in your belly to move forward and fight. Warriors stand together and protect each other..they do not abandon each other. Look to the example of our brave men and women today...they fight.

Is this country, warts and all, worth saving? Damn right, it is. The enemy does not quit, and they will have to be taken out. Learn from this and do not be a quitter...fight for this country, our Constitution, our FREEDOM and liberty.
Do not allow setbacks to discourage you from staying the course...think of all the soldiers before you in the same, similar situation.

Better to fight the left on our feet, than on bended knee. There’s a saying about fair weather friends...they’re around you when all is going well, but when things get rough, they disappear. This is OUR country...soldiers past have lost their lives for THIS country so that WE may be free. Don’t be a fair weather friend to this country. Step up and be counted, and help WIN this war.

I heard the Rush program while on my lunch break, and yes, slut was one of the words used to describe Fluke. Prostitute and pimp were also considered.

I definitely agree with everything you’ve said. The reason I have a bad feeling about Rush is that I’ve heard him say a few times now that nothing interests him and when he gets bored, that may be the end.

I also know that he meant what he said about Fluke, and that he’s right, and that he knows he’s right.

I agree, very disturbing. I’m not happy about Rush’s apology, even sent him an email about it, but I would never throw him under the bus like some here have. I still support Rush. We need him more than ever especially when we just lost Andrew Breitbart. Speaking of Andrew, I was disgusted to hear from Hannity, when he was interviewing Ann Coulter about him, that she is friends with Bill Maher. I had forgotten about that, rightly so. Makes me realize there are few true conservative voices around these days and more and more Coulters.

Like I said to Rush in my email, I will wait to hear what he has to say on Monday.

Well, there was some point in time not too long ago when I would have totally agreed with you, and I still want to...but...what are we fighting for? Mitt Romney? What’s the point of that.

You can’t out-maneuver them. You can’t destroy them. If you damage them, the essence of what they are remains — they reorganize and keep coming... eventually you will weaken — your resolve will be gone... they are relentless!

There are ways. The first thing to recognize is the extent to which they operate off other people's money. They is their vulnerability.

In Wisconsin, a good first blow was landed by the Republicans in prohibiting mandatory dues withholding for public employee unions. Given a choice, public employees don't like the idea of sending in union dues. This cripples the union's activism.

A second thing would be to figure out how to eliminate the network of "non profit" organizations that the left uses to get their activism done. One way would be to just simply eliminate tax deductions for giving to non-profits.

Rush got the half hearted, commercially drive “apology” out of the way. We all know she’s a slut and he knows it too, now so do lots of others. Now it’s time to start listing and reminding over and over, the childish namecalling the left has engaged in, especially Sarah Palin. Hypocrites hypocrites hypocrites. Keeping calling the bastards out, turn the attention to PC and its immature adherents. Everyone I know, including liberals, publicly or privately hate PC. Maybe I’m dimmer than most, but this seems like a boon to Rush. This type of publicity cannot be purchased, and in my travels this weekend, I have come away with the notion that most folks either do not care or see this for what it is; a silly liberal cultural play.
As for the apology, I am of two minds, one is that he did it as part of a bigger deal (I’ll bet Monday’s show will the best ever and lauches a line of T-Shirts like Gitmo),or sometimes it is better to lose a battle than the war..
