Nancy Pelosi endorses tapping oil reserve (How about just more drilling and building a pipeline?)

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday endorsed tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to combat rising gas prices – breaking ranks with her top deputy in the House, who is wary of the idea.

Pelosi said that using the oil reserve was her “personal favorite” short-term fix to not only lower gas prices but also send a message to speculators in the oil markets, whom Pelosi blamed for the increasing costs. The oil reserve, Pelosi said, needs to be “prominently on the table.”

“Every time oil has been diverted or taken from the [Strategic Petroleum Reserve] — one or the other or both — the price at the pump has gone down,” she told reporters. “But even if you don’t subscribe to that, that at least puts a question mark to the speculators that you might do this.”

That’s the argument coming from three House Democrats who have urged President Barack Obama to open up the 700-million-barrel reserve, the oil of which is stored in the Gulf of Mexico. The lawmakers – Vermont Rep. Peter Welch, Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro and Massachusetts Rep. Ed Markey – believe releasing even a part of the oil reserve will affect market speculation and bring down gas prices.

Uh Ms Pelosi:

You haven’t even refilled the STRATEGIC reserve from the LAST time you used it for a political crutch.

It’s not there for a political tool. It’s a STRATEGIC reserve.

Drill here, drill now.

speculators in the oil markets = people with money to invest who believe that ObaMao's asinine energy policies will continue to push prices higher.

Not exactly a risky bet, is it?

So it’s not a supply issue?

One Rat Senator asks Saudi Arabia to pump more oil and now we want to tap our reserves? But it’s not a supply issue? Okay got it.

There’s a reason it’s called the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and it’s not to combat gas hikes at the pump. Could calls for the release of oil be related to upcoming elections?

They are going to let gas prices skyrocket to astronomical heights for a while, then closer to the election or this summer, they will save the day by tapping the reserves, causing the prices to steeply decrease. This is their strategy for winning in November. Pelosi will be a hero for demanding it and 0bamao will be an economic genius.

Every title from any source that poses a situation or asks a question that makes us scratch our head and suggest, "Hey ______ , why don't you ___ ?",

is nothing more than the expose' of the elite politician mobster thug murderer's attitude of, "Let them eat cake" towards ME ... and I take it personally offensive.

Don't you (all) ??

The Libs are getting nervous that Obummer will pay the price for high gas prices. Of course the president’s answer is to property inflate our tires and regular auto maintenance. Forget the pipeline, forget harvesting our own oil.

The way the former Shrieker of the House abused military air transports to fly her corrupt botox’d ass all over this country, I suspect the Strategic Petroleum Reserve had to be tapped a long time ago.

That stupid twat is the perfect representative for her district of whores, thieves, perverts and parasites.

"Sure, let the taxpayers pay higher prices later to refill the reserve. Good plan! /s/"

But it does give lower gas prices by election time without any messy drilling, etc that may be opposed by her base. All she cares about.

San Fran Nan is giving away a dirty little secret the Clinton’s would rather nobody know about.

Swap out the SPR for the Oil for Food program and you will recognize how Clinton used OFF to manipulate the world price of oil during his second term.

Can you say “cattle futures” X hundreds of billions?

Utterly mind boggling stupidity here, Nancy. How would tapping into our only emergence reserve, which would only supply our national needs for 34 days, “send a message” to anybody? Other than that we are complete idiots.
