ProFlowers Latest Rush Limbaugh Sponsor To Pull Its Business

By Michael A. Memoli March 4, 2012 The number of advertisers who have at least temporarily cut ties with Rush Limbaugh grew to seven on Sunday in the aftermath of the conservative radio host's self-described "insulting word choices" about a female law student.
ProFlowers, an online florist, is one of the latest companies to announce it would halt advertising on Limbaugh's show.
"Mr. Limbaugh’s recent comments went beyond political discourse to a personal attack and do not reflect our values as a company. As such, ProFlowers has suspended advertising on the Rush Limbaugh radio program," it announced on its Facebook page.
ProFlowers, like other Limbaugh sponsors, faced pressure from women's groups to end its relationship with his show after Limbaugh branded Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke, 30, a "slut" and "prostitute," equating Fluke’s advocacy of expanded coverage for contraceptives with her wanting to be "paid to have sex." Fluke has been a vocal supporter of a new Obama administration rule that mandates greatly expanded access to contraceptives through health insurance plans.
One activist group, UltraViolet, said 91,000 people had signed its petition urging ProFlowers to suspend advertising on Limbaugh's show.
"UltraViolet members are glad that ProFlowers decided to suspend their advertising from the Rush Limbaugh show. … Our members hope that ProFlowers will do the right thing and not only suspend their advertising but pull it permanently," it said in a statement.

Here is my message to the butt heads at Sleep Train:
Just a quick note two say that I support Rush Limbaugh in his opinion that it is immoral and wrong that a woman should appear before a congressional committee to demand that tax payers fund her having sex with his boy friends so often that she needed a $1,000 a month contraception budget.
The whole thing is a set up by Democrats as a campaign tactic.
All that said, we will NEVER ever consider purchasing a Sleep Train bed again.
Slate Magazine was caught slyly calling Palin the c-word in a headline. Slate’s editor apologized after being called out by Big Journalism.
It’s really not all that hard to be right when you’re talking about liberal progressives. Simply assume that they are as vile as possible, and then think, “If I were 95% cockroach, what would I do next?”
Lesbians, gay, bisexuals and transexuals cheered this as “fearless,” did they? So conservatives now have every right to be similarly “fearless” and apply the same sort of bigoted hatred in labeling toward them now? Why is it only “fearless” when a liberal displays this level of personal hatred toward a conservative? How does it not work the other way around?
If Glenn Beck did this, there is no question that he would be fired. And that is because conservatives are superior to liberals in every way morally possible.
These are ugly, ugly people. They have no shame. They have no decency. They have no integrity. And they have no honor.
The phrase "at least temporarily cut ties with Rush Limbaugh" is interesting. Are they testing the water to see if they can survivie without Rush's audience??
One thing is sure, I can survive quite nicely without their "service".

My guess is, they are most likely going to be regretting this decision come early this week. I really don’t think they thought this through before making this hasty decision. I’d hate to be in their IT & Customer Service Departments! ;-)

Don’t forget anything ProFlowers must include Sherri’s Berries and CherryMoon Farms. Sherri’s depends on Strawberry season and Mother’s day for a lot of their revenue.
Bissinger’s or the tribal chocolate factory in OK would be great alternatives, and send a copy of your order to Sherri’s.
When they come begging back to Rush, he doesn’t have to accept them.

What makes ProFlowers decision to halt advertising on Rush's show even more a kick in the teeth, is that they did AFTER he apologized (which I don't believe he even needed to do)! I guess Rush could welcome them back if they decide they want to once again advertise on his show, but I'm wondering if Rush would agree to it considering it was the ultimate Dis? We'll see.

The point of Carbonite and similar services is “offsite.” Offsite has a definite place in extreme disaster recovery. I wouldn’t want to count on it for the quickest restores, nor to have gotten complete copies of big files (e.g. video, CD images) with any kind of ADSL service.
A lot of folks are really bummed that Rush didn’t go asinine like these evil people have.
