Andrew Breitbart for the Offense
AmericanThinker ^ | March, 2012 | R. Spencer

Posted on 03/05/2012 7:36:48 AM PST by Righting

Among the many things that made Andrew Breitbart a great man was that he played offense.  Most of the time warriors for freedom find themselves playing defense.  Instead, we should follow Breitbart's example.

So many, many times I have been speaking at anti-jihad events and heard other speakers saying, "We are not racists, we are not bigots, we are not Islamophobes..."  This is an understandable impulse: to counter the leftist/Islamic supremacist charges that smear and defame decent people who are trying to defend their freedoms and way of life.  But at the same, it is playing on their field, allowing the foes of freedom to set the terms of the debate.  Breitbart never did that.

We have allowed the jihadists and Islamic supremacists, and their leftist allies, to put us on the defensive.  We're always apologizing, tacitly accepting their narrative and responding to them in the parameters they set up.  Even worse, many even among the anti-jihadists eagerly throw their colleagues under the bus -- those colleagues whom the left and the Islamic supremacists have started to zero in on.  They're the ones we should be standing up for the most resolutely, for they are drawing fire because they are effective.

Instead of bowing and scraping to the Islamic supremacists and feebly protesting that we're not really racists and hatemongers and all the other calumnies and canards they throw at us, we should be taking the fight to them, and standing up and saying, "You are fronting for the most oppressive ideology on the face of the earth.  You are fronting for evil.  You are carrying water and running interference for the denial of free speech, the denial of the freedom of conscience, the institutionalized oppression of women, the subjugation of non-Muslims, and worse..

What was the name of the man, from maybe Georgia, who was a lot like Brietbart? He died several years ago. He was a thorn to the dems for sure.

I think he had a brain tumor.

Republican leaders are afraid - they live in Washington and want so badly to be part of the cool 'in' crowd... they accept the trade-off to 'wuss out' when faced with rejection by a liberal.

As the article states - they need to stand up and say the following - to their mirror in the morning - and later to liberal bullies they meet - every day - until they grow courage - conservative mantras. On the issue of radical Islam they must say:

"You are fronting for the most oppressive ideology on the face of the earth. You are fronting for evil. You are carrying water and running interference for the denial of free speech, the denial of the freedom of conscience, the institutionalized oppression of women, the subjugation of non-Muslims, and worse. You're fronting for stonings, amputations, the murder of apostates, the treatment of women as possessions of men, the madness and senseless violence that we see in this furor over the Quran-burnings, and more. You shout us down on campuses and do everything you can to make sure we are not heard in the public square. And you call us fascists? You are the quintessence of fascism.

This is the second time in two days I've seen Spartacus put forward on FR as a symbol of the conservative cause. I wonder if that's appropriate because for years that leader of Rome's slave revolt has been idolized by Communists as their own symbol. The ballet "Spartacus" was the Bolshoi's main Communist propaganda piece when it traveled abroad during the Soviet era.

The following was written in an Arizona newspaper prior to a local revival of the Kirk Douglas film:

"As a leader, Spartacus has been admired by revolutionaries seeking to overcome the power of an over-class. Karl Marx admired Spartacus as did Che Guevara, the revolutionary who played a key role with Fidel Castro in overthrowing the Cuban dictator, Batista. Spartacus was hailed by the German Communist movement during World War I and by the Austrian anti-Fascists during the 1970s.

"So, it was particularly shocking in 1960 when the film 'Spartacus' was released with Dalton Trumbo as the screenwriter. Trumbo was one of the Hollywood Ten who had refused to cooperate with the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947 as they attempted to uncover Communist influence in Hollywood. As a result, Trumbo was blacklisted from working in Hollywood and spent 11 months in prison.

Really ? You think Santorum is for the UN Millennium Goals?
Newt cannot win. He is just too weird. Romney is weird. Santorum is weird. But Gingrich acts like he is Bipolar:one minute he is an outsider, the next he couldn't be anymore Mclean Va. I live here, inside the Beltway,he is like a young coed who when she arrives at college and pledges KKG, and makes the cheer leading squad, and is soooo cool. They will destroy him.

Lee Atwater. He was the last operative that was any good: He understood that it is a war not a game.

This is the second time in two days I've seen Spartacus put forward on FR as a symbol of the conservative cause. Members of the left ARE the Establishment.

They pretend to be the party of the small person but they're NOT. They have no right to claim the mantle of the powerless - they are they oppressors. When ACORN does 'demonstrations' they HIRE protesters on Craig's list.

The left hasn't represented the little people in over forty years.

Here's how you can tell - they HIRE trolls to stop our side from speaking out. They HIRE goons to demonstrate (even at Occupy - ads are run on the net). Our groups aren't 'bussed in' with the help of union goons and paid flacks. We're the real deal - and you can know that for sure because IF ONE TIME we hired protesters the normally BLIND New York Times would open their crusted eyes and SEE IT. They can't see the ads written by liberals...( yeah right) but they would see them if written by us.

Members of the left ARE the Establishment.

Of course they are, and I understand your point. But America fought its own revolution against government tyranny. I'd much prefer to see one of America's Founders like George Washington used as our conservative symbol than a person widely adopted as a Communist figurehead.

I understand your criticism. However, I would be VERY interested to know what Santorum has said, if anything about UN Agenda 21 and any other UN program that takes away our sovereignty.

If you are able to do that, I WILL take another look.

I am not saying that Santorum is for the UN agendas, but so far, to my knowledge, he has not indicated that he would actively challenge them.

Newt is the ONLY one who has come out strongly and vocally against the power elite in an issue I care deeply about: the UN Agenda 21.

Well, I favor Rick Santorum, but that is a plus for Newt.

Most people in politics don't talk about things like Agenda 21, because the NWO backers try to keep it out of the spotlight, in order not to alert their intended victims.

So political people say things like "that's off the radar, only a nut would get worked up about it" and they won't touch it -- the LieStreamMedia's power of agenda-setting is thus respected even by conservative pols.

FWIW, I think Santorum will/would oppose Agenda 21, but I'm unaware of any position he's taken on that group of global-government issues.

It's the "off-the-radar" issue, q.v. my last.

I find that comment insulting.

And, the fact that you put an active hyperlink to your own blog in your post, as well as your own blog’s URL in your tagline is ridiculous.

Breitbart is quickly becoming a martyr. I have no problem with his martyrdom - I believe he died for our cause

We MUST carry on. Stay on the offense. Infiltrate their web sites. Demoralize them. Call them out.

I had never met Breitbart, but I miss him terribly. I shall follow his lead. I think it would make him happy.

So what!! They bought it all themselves, not the taxpayer.

None of this matters if Newt has vision and leadership ability. The other two a milk-toast by comparison.

Yes. I was listening to Larry O'Connor's 4-hour radio broadcast in Andrew's honor this weekend and a caller mentioned AB's "Jujitsu" moves. "Whenever your opponent is about to kick, you move into the kick, not away from it. Andrew knew that. He always moved towards them; threw them back on their heels." I liked that.

He also mentioned Andrew's recent confrontation with the OWS crowd. The "Stop raping people!" thing. Larry and some of the other guys were saying, "Oh man... I don't know about that AB. You looked pretty ridiculous..." But he made them post it to the web site. And O'Connor said, "And you know what? He was right. It turned out that he had a plan all along, and they fell right into it. He was always two steps ahead of them." I couldn't figure that part out... what plan? What became of that? Obviously something happened, because it totally fell off the MSM radar. Anyone know? All I know is that for the past week that he was tweeting, everything was about the MSM's coverup of the OWS rapes.
