I beleive she will win if she sues. This slut can probably prove she’s not a public figure and did not put herself out for public approval. You and me can call her a slut. But we can’t do it on the radio.

Why does Palin and Coulter and all the conservative women not sue? Because they put themselves up for public approval.

Any lawyers out there to prove me wrong?

When did Newt criticize Rush?

He was asked about Rush apologizing and he agreed with it. He then ripped David Gregory a new one about how the Democrats, Obama and the Media manipulated the situation.

It is good to see that there is some sanity out there (i.e., Clear Channel). Rush has said that he single-handedly saved AM radio...and he’s right. I’m old enough to remember that the first FM-only car radios were just starting to hit the market when Rush took off - no one could make a case for AM anymore. One more decade and AM would have been gone from the public airwaves.

Clear Channel knows this will repeat once talk radio is shut down. They also know that if Rush bolts in this way, so will the others - and Clear Channel will be left with much, much, few stations to syndicate to.

Please consider this from the Christian Bible:

“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.” - Ephesians 5:22-24

How can the Libertarian party do any worse?

Sadly, we'll probably never know, since they're such a splinter party they'll never have the reigns of power.

I think a more practical approach is for you and like-minded people organizing to weed out the RHINOs at the local level and try to effect change from the ground up... that means The Tea Party to me.

Clear Channel KNOWS that ALL publicity is GOOD. Some is just better than others. Simply put: Controversy is good.

My point: Rush may be in the spotlight, at the moment, negatively. But for Clear Channel, his show just received a TON of FREE publicity/attention and Clear Channel can replace those sponsors because of that.

Remember, if they ain't talkin' about you and BOTH lovin' and hatin' ya... then you ain't happenin'.

Rush will survive and probably gain audience.

Oh, poo.

Rush always has more people wanting to sponsor than he has room for. I learned something today.

Rush used to have G.M. as a sponsor but he refused to continue with them out of principle after the bailout.

Rush was great today in his explanation.

Sue?? Oh, puleeze.

If Rush is sued by this person and the media continues to beat the anti Rush drum

Wouldn't Fluke have to prove, in court, that she ISN'T a slut?

From the little I've read that will be impossible to do. Otherwise he simply made an accurate description of her.

It's my understanding truth is an absolute defense in these situations.

Now when Republicans are hammered about Rush's comments, they can say he sincerely apologized, and it's time to move on...

...and nobody on the left or in the media will listen. That's the problem. He didn't defuse anything. He showed weakness and they will not let it go.

“If Rush goes off the radio, that will be the END of talk radio ...”

I agree. I try to listen to at least part of Rush every day and if he weren’t on the air, I wouldn’t bother with much talk radio because all the others get on my nerve one way or another.

Mark Levine seems to be a favorite around here but I can’t stand him. I like his opinions but he is a nasty, sarcastic host rude to all callers including his supporters.

Hannity—well, you know.

Can’t stand Laura Ingraham’s voice anymore and she is a weird lady also rude to her assistant which bugs me.

Local talk show host here in Dallas is not bad, but usually manages to annoy me after 20 minutes or so.

Rush is the quality guy. He’s funny, likeable and right on about most of the issues.

Hah. I ordered Two if by Tea today. Had meant to try it sometime but was motivated to go ahead and do it today just as a show of support.

That’s just silly. They may be trying to get some mileage out of this by beating the drum for a lawsuit, but she couldn’t possibly win.

And she would be horribly exposed for the slut she is if she tried to sue.

Newt:"I think it was appropriate for Rush to apologize, I'm glad he apologized. Do you think the president owes an apology to all of the men and women in uniform who he quite frankly abandoned when he apologized to religious fanatics in Afghanistan? What's your opinion David? Should the president apologize to the men and women in uniform that he abandoned?"

D.Gregory:"I'm going to get back to my questions...

Newt:"If you want to get into a discussion about apologies, I'm happy to discuss it"(delivered with a smile).

Sorry, I don't buy that simply agreeing as he did that the apology was appropriate is "criticizing" Rush. The poor guy is already getting it from all sides, and doesn't need to hear "You shouldn't have apologized you putz" from Newt. I saw it as merely "Fine, he apologized. HE thought it was appropriate, so it's appropriate, now let's talk about more important issues." I know you agreed he ripped David a new one, but I transcribed anyway because it was fun :-). I was wondering if there was a more pointed criticism in an interview that I may have missed.

That’s interesting. You really got your feelings hurt. I think you are in the minority though and I hope you get over it.

You’ll lose far more than Rush will if you cut him out of your life.

I'm glad we agree on this. That is the only video I saw of Newt commenting on the Rush situation.

I am a Newt supporter. He doesn't hesitate, he doesn't divert while thinking of his answer, he just nails it almost every time.

I have been paying attention to how both Romney and Santorum handle the same type of situation. I look at Romney and frankly, I just don't get it. I know the guy is smart, but he just comes off as winging it. Add that to his support of a Progressive Income Tax, Romneycare (the original Obamacare Stem Cell) and his comment that Obama, the most dangerous President I can think of, is just another Liberal who is in over his head, and all I think is epic Fail. I have seen Romney in person making speeches many times, and I never come away saying “wow”, it's more like, huh?

Santorum, while a nice fellow does not inspire confidence in me when I know he will face the Obama juggernaut. He also looks like a deer in headlights when trying to come up with an answer. Not anything compared to G.W. Bush, but it happens enough times that I would get a stomach ache watching him in a debate with Pharaoh Obama. The same goes for Romney.

There are enough Useful Idiots out there that in a close contest before the General Election, a hiccup during a Debate with Obama could seal the fate of the Country.

I would relish watching Newt versus Obama. With Mitt or Rick I would have a terminal stomach ache.

In any court action the burden of proof is on the accuser.
Fluk would have to provide a preponderance of evidence that Rush was aware Fluk is not a slut, and lied knowing that.

Rush would get his venue in Florida.
Under Fla law Fluk would have x number of days to comply with Rush’s discovery or be dismissed.

Continuations would stretch the case out for years.

This could only be a barratous suit intended to ruin a defendant with defense costs, and Rush could raise millions in donations for defense.

Big whoop.

There has always been a double standard and when your leadership are all cowardly, corrupt liars and co-conspirators with reid, pelosi and obama (Super Committee), the left will push to get away with anything that they can... and the double standard is a gift that their propaganda machine (the press) are happy to deliver.

One is presumed innocent until proved guilty. Why wouldn't she sue? It will not cost her a dime, she is a professional activist for the left and she will be the media darling for months... and Rush would probably lose the case. Time will tell. LLS
