The stress of debating Newt has taken a toll on Romney...

Lol. Well stated. If only William F. Buckley was still around. I would pay to see that debate.
Go Newt!

Haven’t they debated about a dozen times already?

I mean why let the MSM continue to play gotcha again and again?

Why would the first and second place candidates want to debate the guy in last place. They debated 20 times. That is enough. I hope they both say no. Debates are done until the General. Well I guess they have one more in Oregon but 21 is way more than enough.

Those are huge audiences, 4.5 to 7 million conservative primary voters are massive.

First off, where did you get that 7 million number? It didn't happen. Secondly it wasn't 5 million Conservative voters. There were Milt people watching, some moderates and leftist looking for a train wreck. I hear no one anywhere calling for anymore debates except for Newt and his cadre of supporters. It is all they have. 20 debates is plenty. Way more than any other cycle. If a candidate hasn't gotten his message and views out by now, they are done.

Little Ricky and Mittens are scared and neither one of them will debate him.

Are you on drugs? They already debated him 21 times. That is enough.

Not everyone is born pro-life...

..If YOU are pro-life ...when did you have your epiphany or watershed moment?....when did you say...'Aha....this is a baby!'

Mine wasn't until I was 36!---I hadn't given it much thought...although when a certain group in our town protested abortion or prayed in front of an abortion clinic & usually the local news picked it up or put their picture in the paper.....I paid attention.

But it wasn't till I was about the same age as Santorum when my conscience became aware.

....and I never looked back.

From that day forward I tried to help the pro-life cause.

So.....back to your question.....

Consider their 'fruits of the spirit'....

Santorum spoke out on the Senate floor against abortion and sponsored pro-life bills..

Romney, on the other hand....was for abortion until a few years ago....actively promoting it.

There's your difference.

Oh, 6.1 million, “30 rock” type numbers, massive numbers , larger than many commercial shows.

It was the Republican base, adults, the primary voters.

You are incredibly terrified of seeing your man Santorum debate, do you honestly not want anyone to see Obama debating for instance? You do not want to expose Santorum to Gingrich and Romney is the issue.

Not really. Rick mopped the floor with Milt and Newton a couple debates ago on mandates and big Govt' ideas that cost money. I just don't care about MSM lead debates anymore like most people.

Santorum was aware of abortion, he was a lifelong Catholic and was working in politics by the late 1970s, he went through the abortion wars and the Reagan years (”he shunned Youth for Reagan as being too “fringe right-wing”), yet he remained pro-abortion.

Just like Romney Santorum said “I was basically pro-choice all my life, until I ran for Congress”.

Santorum is described as being uninterested in issues as a political operative, but also for telling people that they had to lock on an issue, and hammer it to create an awareness of them to the electorate.

Santorum says he became (kind of) pro-life in 1990 to run for office, but in 1996 he was supporting Arlen Specter for President.

Here is Specter’s Presidential campaign description: “For Specter, who later became a Democrat, his pro-abortion-rights position was a centerpiece of his campaign. Specter believed that anti-abortion activists were a “fringe” group hijacking the Republican party.

“There are clearly more Republicans who are pro-choice,” Specter told Newsday’s Susan Page. “Up until now, I am the only person willing to take on the fringe.” After Specter dropped out of the race, he led an ill-fated movement to change the anti-abortion provision in the Republican party platform.”

In 2004, Santorum helped save Specter’s Senate race, in 2008, he supported the most aggressively pro-abortion guy to have ever reached his level in GOP politics, Mitt Romney.

In 1990 Santorum ran as a “Progressive Conservative” (his campaign literature used that description) who was against the pro-life amendment and many of us that have learned more about him do not see him as a true conservative warrior.

If you weren’t frantic, you would merely choose to watch something else.

You clearly do not want there to be anymore debates.

Sarah Palin to moderate.

That would be something to watch.

Considering that it’s been at least 10 years since his troubles, he’s probably learned about schlong control.

Have you learned to forgive in that time?

Rick might want to get off that caffeine, then maybe he could actually finish a sentence or thought. Gotta tell you, when he speaks or answers questions, I get the distinct impression that he might be wetting his pants. I can’t tell if he is excited or scared.

The debates drew huge audiences.

It depends on your definition of 'huge'.

They ranged between 3.5 and 7.5 million viewership.

And probably, much of the viewership was the same news junkies who watched multiple debates.

American Idol gets nearly 3 times that viewership -- every week.

That is why we should really be afraid for our country. These people vote. They care more about American Idol than the future of America.

Newt is the only one that I would trust to be the leader of our country.

It is us against those that control DC and the LSM.

I find it mind boggling that someone like that other poster would compare a republican primary audience to the mass of children and teens and families, and baby sitters watching American Idol, and think that the debate is competing with that audience for diversity, interest and size.

As it is, the debates have been matching the size of the Tina Fey/Alec Baldwin/Tracy Jordan, “30 Rock” audience.

It is really frightening to see that American idol is more important to some than a national election.

Have to hand it to the public education system. They have dumbed America down.

Karl Rove just said, “God bless Speaker Gingrich,” regarding his appearance on MTP, and how he “took David Gregory to the woodshed.”
Also said, “he tanned his hide.”

I could vote for Newt. But I know a lot of women who could not.

The saying may be trite, but it is true. Lack of schlong control is resume enhancement for a Democrat. But it is a career killer for a Republican.
