I went to college after serving in the Active Army. Yes, I even stayed in the Residence Hall. My female RA hated me because I never let her pull this crapola....then I really made her mad when I became an RA the next year!

BTW, my floor loved me and they 99 of the 100 got along great. In fact, many were friends for their entire college career and only 1 rushed a sorority!

The great irony in all of this is the fact that a large number of these folks blogging away putting pressure on these companies to dump Rush were just OWS type agitators who never used these products.

So while they responded to their “customers” complaints the folks who actually purchased their goods and services are voting with their checkbooks...

You don't want to do that publicly in Georgia, Louisiana, Illinois, or a bunch of other states. "Slut" is still per se defamation in prevailing case law. The Georgia Court of Appeals held it to be the case as recently as 2008. Damages are presumed and don't have to be proved, and because it's per se defamation, you lose your 'reasonable belief' defense.

I know virtually nobody sues over it any longer, but somebody did in Georgia in 2008, and are you going to trust Sandra Fluke, a plaintiff's attorney, and a jury with your wallet?

I’ve been having a pretty good day …. reading threads, posting here and there, listening to Rush. The only fly in the ointment has been that for the last hour, I haven’t been feeling all that great. Probably something I ate ….. but I digress. Along comes the 3:00 news and they play a clip of Obummer at his press conference, trying to be funny & clever about today’s elections. You know the picture that floats around on the threads of the (black) cat with his head deep in the toilet bowl? Yup, that one. Well, that would be a descriptive picture of what pretty instantaneously occurred upon hearing Obummer’s voice. I never ever thought I would say this, but I have finally discovered something that Obummer is good for – use as an emetic.

Speaking of food...Has anyone else heard these so-call public service announcements by an organization called FeedingAmerica.com? I have heard two of them repeated constantly on my local Rush station. The first has a woman saying she is our next door neighbor but we don't know she works two jobs and her husband works one job and they suffer from hunger. The other one has a little girl saying she is one of four children in America that goes to bed hungry every night. They then tell us to donate to food banks.

I think donating to a food bank is an okay thing to do, but does anyone believe that 25% of Amnerica's children go to bed hungry? Or that a family with three jobs suffers from hunger? I think these ads are designed to show America is a bad place where people suffer from hunger no matter what they do.

Remember the Travel Channel show I watch that was going to the Livingston Area? They featured one Metcalf Ranch that had to sell off small parcels of land and be a dude ranch kind of vacation spot to get by. Yeah that’s the one you linked. They only had 250 head and were struggling back in 2009 when they shot the episode, glad they are OK.

The part of that particular commercial that I find laughable, is the grocery market cashier who states that she goes to bed hungry. She must be thinking she is in a different commercial. May be a commercial for eating disorders.

A supermarket cashier works quite hard and with a five to seven percent employee discount as well as the first dibs on any produce or canned goods or packaged goods as well as blemished, ripe produce, dented cans or partly crushed packages are deemed as seconds, I know for a fact first hand from family members, that grocery staff have discounted and inexpensive groceries available to them.

I agree that the commercial is meant to make America as a whole look bad.
