I think Newt is basically finished at this point. It’s great that he’s got endorsements, but if he can’t bring home the bacon at the ballot box - aside from his home state, which is a given - then we shouldn’t pretend that he’s a viable candidate.

If the boobs in Ohio hadn’t thrown their votes away on Newt, we’d have crushed Willard Romney the open socialist.

Don't know if I prefer that Kucinich lose and go away or win and remain available for comedy and derision.

Turn to CNN. They are more dispassionate. You don’t get the feeling any of them will take out a gun and shoot holes in a candidate’s photo.

Always the last few votes for Mitt. Shouldn’t percentages be more consistent? If one candidate is pretty much cleaning up right through 80%, wouldn’t you think they’d at least survive the last 20%?

Doesn’t sound like it’s a big deal for the Presidential primary candidates

Or ... if the boobs in Ohio hadn't thrown their votes away on Ricky....we'd be one step closer to having a candidate who can crush Obama.

Just saying ....

Hey....take your rhetoric down a notch. No need to disrespect fellow freepers just to feel good. Thanks.

Didn't you post this previously? Perhaps taking your own advice is a good idea, FRiend.

Santorum is the Inquisition, Gingrich the Enlightenment. The Founders were men of Enlightenment. Men of ideas and vision. Romney said he would have fired a man who came in with ideas of space travel and colonies on the Moon. I would give him a corner office. Santorum would most likely take the ruler from under his habit and cracked him on the knuckles.

I think it’s the precincts that are reporting. The latest coming in are in Romney strongholds I guess.

Romney’s lead is growing for now:
423,680 417,821
38% 37%
91% Reporting

Put simply, either Gingrich or Santorum need to drop out and let the conservative tide wash Romney out to sea

The idea that if either one drops out the other simply gets all their votes is entirely fallacious.

First off, some of their voters simply would lose interest and not vote.

Second off, as hard as it may be to comprehend here, out there in the real world there are Santorum supporters that like Mitt more than Gingrich, and Gingrich supporters that like Mitt more than Santorum.

Blaming Newt for Ohio would ring more loudly if Santorum hadn’t wasted precious money and time in Georgia.

One more day and a few more dollasr in Ohio instead of hopeless GA, and Rick probably wins the Buckeye State.

Newt basically abandoned Ohio.

Still, Santorum had a good night. Very solid wins in Tennessee and Oklahoma, southern states where Newt should have been more competitive. Plus Santo continues to roll in the smaller midwestern states.

Newt really can't feel very good about tonight. Third place in his own backyard in Tennessee and winning only a single county? A weak second place in Oklahoma which should also be his territory? I really don't see how he can come back after tonight.

He may stay in until next week to pick up Alabama and Mississippi. If he doesn't, he is finished. Notwithstanding that he could surprise in Alaska still. Actually, any of the four could.

Most of the Newt votes in Ohio would have gone to Santorum and it wouldn't have even been a nail biter.
