WooHoo, Sarah Palin voted for Newt!!!!
if Anthony Weiner had borrowed a few tutu’s to Kuchinich, Dennis would still be in this race
WooHoo, Sarah Palin voted for Newt!!!!
So called "boobs" in Ohio voting for Newt - 15%
Santorum's Ohio delegates ineligible - 25%
Santorum's problem in Ohio wasn't Newt.
I hope voters are listening!
Alabama and my state, Mississippi vote next Tuesday.
After tonight, I'm not so certain at all that Newt Gingrich will win either because of the one issue Evangelical voters.
I'm going to Jackson on Thursday to see Newt Gingrich and I'll be better able to judge the crowd. My prayers and hopes belong to Newt Gingrich.
My mail is full of Romney crap and sadly, one piece from Santorum. Nothing at all from Gingrich.
Actually it didn't happen that way in IA and CO. Rick finished strong.
I don't have a problem with the current system of staggered contests, some being primaries and some being caucuses — except that open primaries are a major mistake.
I was very unhappy when Santorum urged Democrats to cross over in my home state of Michigan. Even though it's perfectly legal in Michigan, it looks bad.
Republicans shouldn't be choosing Democratic candidates and vice versa. I said that in 2008 when Rush Limbaugh was advocating crossovers, I said it earlier in 2012 before Santorum and Daily Kos advocated crossovers, and I'm saying it now.
The only thing wrong with our current system is crossover votes. End that and many of our RINO problems will go away — and not just in the presidential races. We'll get real Republicans appealing to conservative voters to win the Republican primary for county, state, and congressional races, and the same for Democrats appealing to real Democrats in theirs.
GA delegates I got it
Newt 53 Delegates
Mittens 17 Delegates
Santorum Need roughly 4k votes to get a piece of the Proportional
Santorum 21 Delegates
Mittens 18 Delegates
Newt 16 Delegate. But in Danger of losing them all if he falls below 20% in one CD.
You are correct, but he might still fall just short of 20%.
Santorum at 19.6% with 95.8% reporting in Georgia.
Just kill me now......lol. Seriously, Santorum can certainly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I am seriously disgusted....I hope that phrase was correct and accurate for what I am feeling. :-)
Recheck Florida. Romney beat Newt+Rick by 19k votes in there. Do you thing you... or anyone... could have talked sense into the Paul voters to have gotten the needed extra votes there?
It should be interesting and right now, I’m looking for bland! I’m so annoyed at the outright lies and deception and yes, I know it’s ‘politics’ and it’s the way the game is played, but my beloved country is under attack and I just want ONE DAY to be ‘normal’ :)
A 7,071 vote difference, very interesting.
I think the fix is in!
Coincidentally the final votes are counted in areas strong for Romney? It’s just like Michigan! I’m not big a believer in conspiracy theories, but this definitely makes you wonder if someone up the food chain is pulling the strings and giving us the candidate THEY want!
I voted Gingrich in Florida- even worked on his campaign here in Tampa- but I’m also a Santorum fan! I wish we could smush both Newt and Rick together and get a super-candidate! Both are great...BOTH can beat nObama! I don’t think Mittsky has that ability. He’s also going to hurt our conservative gains in both the House and Senate in November!
I can’t believe I read that...Santorum has got to be the whiniest candidate I’ve seen in a long time. He’s just so insecure and he can’t possibly beat 0bama. Even Romney would have a better chance against 0. Santorum simply doesn’t have enough leadership qualities. We have that problem now with the current occupant. I don’t want the repeat the mistake with someone else just because they have conservative values. The fact that we’re in this positions is just scary to me.
Oh dear. reasonable, objective analysis. Prepare to get flamed.
I will say that when people look back at this time, the diarrhea of press verbiage about a "brokered convention" will be perceived as perhaps the dumbest non-story in political history.
Considering JimRob is for Newt, I’d say he probably is pleased...don’t tell me you don’t know who the owner of the site supports?
I have to agree with you.. it is very scary!!
I listened to all 3 speeches tonight and the only one that made me feel good about this country was Newt! The other 2 just gave pep rally speeches.. all hat no cattle :(
Agree that with the current mix of candidates, Romney appears headed for the nomination. But with the four becoming three or two...maybe that would change? Or not.
sadly, one piece from Santorum.
lol. You just tickle me. I think you are so neat. I loved how you put that.....even though I am supporting him, that was so funny. The only problem I have with tonight’s primary is the other two will not debate Newt in MS or AL. I especially can see Romney saying no way. Sometimes the debates are pretty entertaining and informative.
The 2 thousand “boobs” that voted for Perry and Huntsman sure didn’t help.
The proportional of delegates reported so far for Oklahoma:
Fox is reacting a scene in THE GODFATHER......O’Reilly is a pimp...it was Hume all along
Britt is and has been directin the Romney Fox campaign from day one.....
anyone watchin tonight can clearly see
P.S. - Romney will get 149 delegates in California (winner take all state) - his minions will flock across to vote there one way or t’other.
Add to it possible riots during the G8 summit(wish it would have stayed in Chicago...my supply of popcorn would have been plentiful)....and throw in $5/gal. gas this summer.
November is still a long ways off, a lot can happen between now and then.

That farce you played with my sister? You think that’d fool a Santorum?
So who was it? Barzini or Tattaglia?
Wow. Really Santorum gets one extra delegate for winning. Sheesh.
Michael to Carlos prior to having Carlos killed :)
It is beginning to look that way, and it may be too late to alter the trend. Had either Santorum or Gingrich dropped out and thrown their support to the other, the anti-Romney vote would have carried Ohio tonight.
A couple of observations that may be unpopular. :) I note that Santroum nearly won Michigan and will come in second in Ohio by a very slim margin; I believe his social conservatism is helping him, not hurting him, with GOP voters in the Midwest, and that he is much more appealing to blue collar GOP voters than Newt (but I'm not sure why, he just is). Also, I thought Santorum would win Ohio outright, and Romney's strength here was a bit surprising, given how close Michigan was last week. One more: I think Romney, if nominated, will have strong appeal to independent and Democrat voters (those that aren't bat-crap crazy libs) in November. People are looking for an excuse to ditch Obama, and even a weak conservative like Romney will benefit from that. Remember, McCain was leading the polls in Ohio until his disastrous response to the financial panic of September, 2008.
The unadulterated good news of the evening is that GOP turnout was significantly higher than in 2008, which has to be depressing to the Socialists.
Correct. Rick's problem in Ohio was... Rick.
Yes. It is disgusting. I turned it over to CNN and some FREEPERS were right they seem more fair.....I know scary.
How much did mittens spend to tie with the guy the media had in single digits a week before the Iowa caucuses?

For crying out loud! Damn Yankee.
I think it’s about over in OH.

Romney vs. Santorum
23 17 (delegates)
District 9 that includes the city of Memphis and part of Shelby county.
California is not winner-take-all this year.
There are **MAJOR** opportunities in some of the heavily Democratic congressional districts, where Republican voters are almost entirely Asian or Hispanic businessmen and evangelical or Roman Catholic church members, to have a major win for Santorum if he can get his organizational skills up where they need to be.
The agricultural Central Valley also presents possibilities for traditional white conservative voters.
Several weeks ago on Free Republic, I outlined a potential plan to reach Korean voters in the major urban areas. Very similar plans could be used to reach Hispanic evangelicals and Hispanic Catholics.
Gingrich probably could do something similar by organizing anti-Communist sentiments among Vietnamese and Korean voters, and among Hispanic businessmen.
If that doesn't happen, Romney's money will likely dominate the state due to the very expensive cost for media buys. But that does not need to happen.
It’s ORGANIZATION, GOTV, and MONEY that wins delegates, the way the GOP has this set up.
Santorum is lacking severely in two of three of these areas, and it’s showing up, huge, in the delegate counts.
Yep Lazy azz Republicans could not be bothered with going to the polls to vote.
I have to agree. CNN’s coverage was much more balanced tonight.
LOL. I’d love to attend a debate in my state, just to boo loudly at every answer of Romney’s! I wouldn’t care were I escorted out for ugly, unruly behavior! LOL.
Being professorial doesn't help him there, I'm sure.
Is someone going to call this thing? Tonight’s drinking game is red wine for a Santo win, bourbon for a Newt win, skim milk for Mitt, and methanol for Ron Paul. Needless to say, it’s been largely a buzz kill.
CNN calling Ohio for Romney. Look for the media to brag about the victory by the #1 ad buyer and fail to mention how much money Romney had to spend to tie with Santorum, who is giving up votes to Gingrich and Paul.
ORGANIZATION, GOTV, and MONEY that wins delegates.
Exactly 10k votes costed Newt almost 20 delegates in GA.
EITHER STAND UP AND BE COUNTED or BE COUNTED IN LINE.
And yes, I use my real name here, so feel free to call me Darrell. You guessed right on my gender, though Daryl Hannah has raised the profile of a different spelling of the name.
I firmly believe that our enemies want to promote a “divide and conquer” strategy, and given the fact that we as conservatives believe in absolute truth, it's hard for us to compromise and easy for us to fracture into a thousand pieces. Truth counts, and sometimes we forget to distinguish between primary and secondary issues.
Victory for conservatives in the American political system depends on reaching 51 percent of the vote in an election. We don't live in a European parliamentary system where we can have a half-dozen parties that all appeal to their narrow based of supporters in the election and then work out a coalition government once elected. Whatever merit there might be in proportional representation or multimember districts, that isn't the way the vast majority of elections in the United States work, and if we want even a seat at the table, we need to get to 51 percent.
That means I believe we conservatives need to work hard on finding ways we can work together to get to 51 percent. Being mean to each other helps nobody but the other side.

“As you know, I support Santorum, but your candidate is working hard and deserves credit for what he's done here”. As you know you and I disagree greatly on politics and potentially philosophy. However, I appreciate your insight and most of all...your civility. It's the foundation not only of this site in it's early years but of the great debates of yore. You sir (or madam?) have my most sincere thanks. Yeah, there used to be fist fights and armed duels in the olden days but tonight we all ought to turn a notch toward sincere statements of respect for our adversaries. We have great challenges ahead.”
