Santorum wins in Tennessee

Rick Santorum won the primary in Tennessee while Mitt Romney rolled to primary victories in Virginia, Vermont and home-state Massachusetts on Super Tuesday, reaching for a decisive advantage over his persistent rivals in the most turbulent race for the Republican presidential nomination in a generation.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich countered with a home-field win in Georgia as the GOP contenders vied for the chance to take on Democratic President Barack Obama in November.

OK, I see how the reporting is going now. Still I'm surprised that each article doesn't provide a more comprehensive headline.

Still getting used to this internet stuff.

Unfortunately a poor showing in Tennessee for Newt. I’m disappointed. I don’t know what the hell is going on down here, but first we elect a freakin’ Rino Gov. Haslem [actually, his daddy bought the election for him], then more people here vote for Mittens than for Newt. Pretty sad.

Not bad, a PA Yankee winning a solid Southern state.

Go Rick!

Sorry, I lost my ability to comprehend.

I was thinking of Rick Perry when I posted my original post.

"Not bad, a PA Yankee winning a solid Southern state."

Not really, we've been infested with northerners especially from Michigan and westerners from California as many companies are relocating here (Nissan corporate, many GM folks from the Saturn days, numerous healthcare companies, Dell manufacturing). Hell, no one in my subdivision is even from here any more. We are no longer a conservative state with the exception of Knoxville. Memphis was lost. Nashville is now lost (last 10 years). We have a Rino Governor whose daddy owns Pilot Gas, daddy bought the election.

Not sure how they’re calling the election for Santorum. Polls closed at 8 p.m., but if you’re still in line at 8 you are still allowed to vote. Knox County was still voting past 8 p.m. Santorum had no delegates. Most he can win is the popular vote. I’m at a loss as to explain why the MSM is calling it for Santorum here. Newt had delegates, as did Romney and Paul, but Santorum has NO DELEGATES. Not sure what will happen next. I believe the delegates must vote for whoever they committed to regardless, i.e., Gingrich, Romney, and Paul. No committed delegate from TN has ever voted for another candidate other than the one they were committed to. There were 3 on the ballot that were uncommitted.

Then why didn’t Romney win it?

As of 8:34 p.m. only 1% of the vote in TN has been counted. How can they project a winner from that sampling?

Tn has been trending More conservative for years now. In 08 it was the only state almost to add senate and house seats at the state level. In 10 it elected a slew of conservative us house candidates.

The red states are pretty angry with the Republican party. People are upset about the mortgage fraud crashing the real estate market and they are pissed off about the loss of constitutional rights and American dignity in the aftermath of 911. They are not happy about how the US is doing in the elitists’ “global marketplace.” The GOP has no agenda of reform to offer. They are a bunch of barking moonbats.

They trust the Dems even less now that they got a belly full of Obama.

"Gov. Bill Haslam's plan to free local schools from a state-mandated teacher pay schedule that currently rewards seniority and training is drawing fire from the state's largest teachers' group."

"Last year, Haslam dramatically changed teacher tenure laws, tying the process of obtaining and maintaining tenure to student achievement. Republican lawmakers abolished collective bargaining."

"Union hits Haslam plan to abolish teacher pay"
"Haslam says pay plan isn't attack on teachers"

"Haslam spokesman David Smith said the decision to dismiss the charges against 55 protesters was made in light of a federal judge’s ruling that the state couldn’t enforce the new curfew on the grounds around the state Capitol."
Haslam drops charges on protestors

"Governor Bill Haslam signs bill to halt camping by Occupy Nashville"

Let's review: He has crippled the power of the unions, totally emasculated them, and yet to AdamBomb, he is just a wimp because he respects our judicial system enough that he won't override a federal judge on stupid protesters whose antics no one in TN cares about.
