Limbaugh deserters: 3 dozen national/local advertisers have pulled out of Rush

Rush Limbaugh has now lost a total of 36 advertisers, according to multiple sources, including national advertisers JC Penney and Capitol One. They join such high-profile companies as AOL, Sears, Carbonite, Geico, Netflix, Quicken Loan and ProFlowers. Watchdog group Media Matters is maintaining a list that says Limbaugh has lost 36 advertisers as of Tuesday, which was confirmed by USA Today.

The latter source points out, “Some companies buy time directly on Limbaugh's show. Others instruct their ad agencies to buy what's known in the industry as run of schedule time, meaning their commercials run at different times of the day for several days, so they could appear on a certain program one day and not the next.”

Here is the list of Limbaugh deserters, including sponsors, national and local advertisers, per Politico.com. It cites official announcements, Facebook and Twitter statements: AccuQuote Life Insurance, Allstate Insurance, AOL, Bare Escentuals, Bethesda Sedation Dentistry, Bonobos, Capital One, Carbonite, Cascades Dental, Citrix, Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, Constant Contact, Cunningham Security, Girl Scouts, Goodwill Industries, Hadeed Carpet, JCPenney, Legal Zoom, Matrix Direct, Netflix, Philadelphia Orchestra, PolyCom, ProFlowers, Quicken Loans, Reputation Rhino, RSVP Discount Beverage, Sears, Sensa, Service Magic, Sleep Train, Sleep Number, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Tax Resolution, Thompson Creek Windows and Vitacost.

Meanwhile, online dating website SeekingArrangement.com, whose mission is to match subscribers with wealthy “Sugar Daddies,” said Tuesday it intends to gobble up available ad time during Limbaugh’s program.

“St Vincent's Medical Center” is boycotting Rush?

Are they or were they a “Catholic” institution? Now over a crude joke (apologized for 3 times) they are walking away from Limbaugh to support a feminazi activist who is attending Georgetown for the purpose of challenging Church doctrine?

To “ST VINCENTS” MEDICAL CENTER” this incident eclipses Rushs 27 YEARS of spearheading EIB fund drives for leukemia and lymphoma research, and MILLIONS IN HIS PERSONAL DONATIONS????

You just have to say “WTF” is going on in the heads of these people?

That's already there -- Rush 24/7 .... no 3rd party commercials, BTW

Unless you mean exclusively; I doubt it would ever get that far.

This is a classic example of how the collectivists use PC to control the masses.

I have never heard a Girl Scout ad?!!
Local Council maybe- but we are a scratching nonprofit usually looking for free publicity, not paid ads.

I wonder how much of this stuff about advertisers is being exaggerated or made up by gleeful lefties.

Rush is a clever man, brilliant.

I look forward to seeing how he turns this back on the left.

Meanwhile I feel sorry for innocent employees of outfits like Sears and Carbonite and Pro Flowers who are going to be out of work when business drops. This economy sure cannot afford this cowardly crap decision from their CEOs.

I surely do not see Axelrod Inc and his flying monkeys taking up the customer slack when they succeed in this boiler room ad boycott.

Now, I am off to order some tea.

“The Left must have a very co-ordinated effort putting pressure on the advertisers.”

They do. Even going so far as putting pressure on other clients of the SAME advertiser. Before Carbonite caved, Kim Komando was pressured to pressure Carbonite, one of her sponsors, to drop Rush. I know that’s convoluted but that’s what we’re dealing with - people who are actually employed to do this kind of thing.

If you missed Kim’s response as posted on FR, here is a link:

Rush has taken so many companies I have never heard of before and made them household names I am guessing there will be many newer companies who seen this as an idea time to make a buy.

All of these companies will find out what it is like to pull out of advertising on Limbaugh. Carbonite is already finding out. Liberals don’t spend money. They just look for free deals. It is a great lesson to avoid doing business with liberals.

I currently am using my wii to get netflix, and have a roku box I bought from netflix years ago.
Thanks

" Meanwhile, online dating website SeekingArrangement.com, whose mission is to match subscribers with wealthy “Sugar Daddies,” said Tuesday it intends to gobble up available ad time during Limbaugh’s program.

Seems they might want to advertise in the Georgetown Law School Newspaper. Maybe there's some young elite liberal women who 'want' things but don't want to pay for them. Isn't that the classic 'gold digger' stance? "I want, I want, but I want someone else to pay"...

GEICO is one that I do business with. I sent the below a few moments ago to them - I will inform here at FR if I get a response. Maybe their actions was the result of an ad agency and not corporate policy.

Netflix is next on my contacts....

GEICO currently has all my auto insurance and home ins (via ASI).

I am 64 and wonder why you pulled your advertising from the Rush Limbaugh radio program? Were you pressured by the current administration’s people? Do you believe that the tax payer should pay for others personal practices? Do you actually believe the Fluke was NOT a plant by the Obama admin?? Please give me your Corporate reasoning for your cancellation..Also will GEICO be refusing to buy advertising with MSNBC, Bill Maher’s program and others who have used worse language (anaolgies)?

Thanks for your time..MHF

One of the many reasons I didn't listen to Rush was do to cheesy advertizers.

You can't be serious. That is actually one of your reasons?

Since their announcements, these sponsors’ stocks have dived. They’re losing business right and left from angry conservatives. Serves them right.

Look up information on Proflowers and its founder Jared Solis.

How these people enjoy our freedoms and capitalist society and then try to crush dissent is beyond me. I don’t know what they do with their minds.

The story on Snapple was that after Quaker Oats bought them they dropped Rush. After doing so Snapple was mismanaged and were then sold by Quaker Oats for about a $1 Billion loss to another company that I believe they did go back and advertise with Rush’s show for a period of time.

Hey folks .... we can’t stop the death threats Rush is now receiving, but we can fight back and help Rush out. I sent an e-mail to my local radio station yesterday to thank them for carrying the Rush show because I was certain they were coming under some pressure from the Left. The message I got back was:

“It hasn’t been easy. The opposition is very organized...but thanks.”

I guess I should not have been surprised …. but I was. This is a strong Rush market and I did not expect the station to be coming under such pressure.

If you are so inclined, PLEASE contact your local Rush radio station and let them know that you support them for carrying Rush. If you have state ‘ping’ lists, let them know this is going on. Enlist the aid of your friends and relatives living in the area …... whatever resources you have to get the message to these beleaguered radio stations, use them!

If you want some interesting if not ‘shocking’ reading on how organized these Leftists are, here’s an article worth reading (it’s a few pages long, please read it all):

http://spectator.org/archives/2012/03/05/rally-for-rush/

Another good website is Brent Bozell’s who says he’s fighting back ... he just can’t stand by and do nothing:

http://istandwithrush.org/

Regardless of what you may or may not think of Rush, we CANNOT let the Left win this war and make no mistake, it is a WAR.

We are living in the times described by George Orwell when he said “In an era of universal deceit, the truth is a revolutionary act”. I say: To cower in silence is no longer an option. I know the power of FReepers when they get together and ACT – this is the time to DO something!!!

(PS – if I’ve pinged you more than once, sorry …. trying not to do that.)

He’s saying right now that these are lies that are much like polling results; they are lies meant to influence public opinion.

He’s right, they lie, socialists always lie.
