Yes, the whole Llano Estacado, which does ectend into Eastern New Mexico, is flat as a fritter (witht he exception of a few spots). Ever driven the road to Vaughn, NM? Talk about bleak.

40 runs east to 84 to 25 and takes you to Las Vegas, NM. And that's an interesting ride.

Very interesting people. I'll not stop ever again on 84. My accent is incorrect.

Dearly love Texas and New Mexico, and my heart is torn. But NM nearly gutted and killed me, so I spend more time in Texas these days.

Closest I've come to Vaughn is Santa Rosa.

Which, at least, has the distinction of being home to the Silver Moon Cafe.
