An engineer has come up with macabre rollercoaster concept where passengers are thrilled and then killed.
The chilling Euthanasia Coaster is a theoretical machine engineered to humanely, with elegance and euphoria, take the life of a human being.
It is designed to subject the rider to a series of unique experiences from euphoria to thrill and from tunnel vision to loss of consciousness.
When travelling at 100m/s, the passenger would then pass away following a lack of oxygen reaching the brain.
The surreal structure is the brainchild of Lithuanian engineer Julijonas Urbonas.

Okay, this nonsense has got to stop.
I’m at a loss for words.
Soylent green is people!
You first, Julijonas. Do let us know how it goes.
That’s just creepy.
...the brainchild of Lithuanian engineer Julijonas Urbonas.Obviously this is the humane way to balance the budget without raising taxes. You do want that, right? /s
Because gas chambers are so....you know.....boring.
Nothing but trouble - Mr Bonestripper.
Nope, a huge incline and corresponding drop to get up to speed, followed by a series of loops in decreasing radius, akin to a corkscrew but it actually looks like concertina wire, appropriately. Death would be due to hypoxia.
“You have expired. Report to ‘carousel’ immediately.”
This is reminiscent of the invention of the most humane way to put people to death of its time, the guillotine.
“Carousel” Logans’ Run That scifi with FF wherein no one can live past their 30th bday. It was a ride that zotted the birthday boys and girls.
My immediate thought, too.
Someone needs to remake that movie.
They'd only screw it up.
lol! That was funny. Either Jello shots, or they are about to have a big Jello Wrestling free for all.
That is MASSIVELY f*cked up. Ugh.
I remember one of those WTBS late night movies at least 40 years ago where some local boss in some such place/time had constructed the “Iron Mane”. It was basically like the back of a horses neck about 20-30 feet tall. They would escort you up to the top via stairs, but you had to ride down by yourself. Of course it was a shiny, razor sharp blade the whole way down so you wound up being sliced in half as you “rode the iron mane”. Anybody else see that one? I have no idea what it was about, but the Iron Mane made an impression!
The Wife walked down the ranks of the Soldiers, stopped and whispered to the man standing in front of her if he trusted in God. He told her he did and he became the “volunteer”.
For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of that Movie though.

The strange thing is that death (of the physical body) is already assured for every man. Why are these sick insane fiends so enamored of killing - other people! Of course some kill themselves too. I can only assume deep seated hatred towards other human beings, rooted in their hatred of God, the source of all Life.
I remember a particularly scary episode of Tarzan Matinee Theatre
where two trees were pulled together,
a person tied to the trees,
then the rope cut, ripping the person in two!
I also remember the Iron Mane, horrifying...
The Long Ships - it was about a bunch of Vikings who somehow got into the Mediterranean searching for some legendary bell in northern Africa. They are captured by a Moslem Grandee who was played by Sidney Poitier. Richardmark and Russ Tamblyn were two of the Vikings.
And then there is the infamous “Flying Guillotine” movie from Shaw Brothers...
THIS is why I love Free Republic.
Somebody here always knows something the rest of us don't.
Who needs Google? LOL
That's why people faint when Pharaoh Obama makes a speech.
What was once a science fiction warning of a future that seemed outlandish is now reality.
The worst nightmares we’ve had we’re now reading about on FR and elsehwere. Scary.
I know. It’s surreal.
Guess not looking for any repeat business....
This almost has to be a parody of some kind.
My idea of a last ride involves a good looking redhead woman.
If I was head of the CIA, KGB, Mossad, etc., that would be one more name I’d add to my target list. These people are nothing short of being vile.
If not, we have turned it into one.
These vile, evil people have to be stopped. We need to restore love and the dignity of holding onto life for every possible second without betraying God, then moving on to our maker with the knowledge that we fought hard.
That looks like a church potluck jello mold in the middle there -- from the days before the special-effects departments had computer graphics. LOL!!
Ooops! Threw up his soma!
So you're saying these folks are the Lutherans of the future? ;)
Many of these people are in a great deal of pain and humiliation (losing control of body functions) and no longer want to endure it. Others have become a huge financial burden to their families and don’t want destroy their livlihoods. I can’t imagine how awful things are for them, so I don’t feel fit to judge them. This doesn’t mean that euthanasia is a good thing. We also need to realize that end-of-life care leaves much to be desired and that also needs to be addressed. Stopping assisted suicide is only part of the solution.
I Can't either, although I *do* recall it starred Richard Widmark, as a Viking. Something about a giant golden bell...
Think I’ll get a DVD of “The Sound of Music” to clear my head.
