US Soldier 'Kills 16' Afghans In Their Homes
Sky News ^ | 12:14pm GMT, UK, Sunday March 11, 2012 | Sky News Staff

Posted on 03/11/2012 5:35:47 AM PDT by DCBryan1

A US soldier has killed 16 Afghan civilians, including nine children, after entering their homes in Kandahar. Sky sources said the Afghan victims also included women and elderly men.

Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs Asadullah Khalid, who is investigating the incident, said the soldier entered three homes, killing 11 people in the first one.

The Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) coalition confirmed the incident but did not release the number of killed or injured.

Sky defence reporter Mark Stone said: "Details are still sketchy and various death tolls have emerged.

"It appears to be an isolated incident and the soldier is believed to have been a staff sergeant."

Isaf Deputy Commander Lt Gen Adrian Bradshaw said: "I wish to convey my profound regrets and dismay at the actions apparently taken by one coalition member in Kandahar province.

"I cannot explain the motivation behind such callous acts, but they were in no way part of authorised ISAF military activity."

According to the Panjwai district governor office, seven people died and up to 17 injured were injured in the rampage.

The injured have been treated for their wounds at Nato medical facilities.

Protests were held over the Koran-burning incident

The US embassy in Kabul attempted to quell expected Afghan unrest by also issuing an apology.

Ah, yes. The strategy that worked so well in quelling the violence after the supposed trash burning incident.

What was it Einstein said? Something about the very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?

Besides, I thought Urkel was bringin' the troops home.

We never should have attempted nation building..it’s nonsense.

You mean that globalist sharia divorce we cannot get out of? This mean by which Catholic virgins must become prostitutes because that would mean US national sanctity from mingling and being fornicated by savages? You mean this kumbaya demoralizing thing pausing and moralizing for everybody so long the tax payer pay?

Ah, this nation building, yeah, the one natioin building at the hands of an army now accepting homosexuals, ie. soldiers pre-demoralized from having normal sexual relations. Ah, this army which now has soldiers committing murder suicide and giving the morale support to the homosexual death oriented Taleban... yep, this "new and improved" "army".

We are making Afghanistan safe for "Bacha Bazi", which the Taliban opposed, instead of just leaving after the training camps were wiped out. It makes me proud to be an American. I bet it makes you proud, too. The Afghan War is the longest war in US history and it has been a total failure and the entire mess has been utterly pointless, with the lives of good American men and women sacrificed for nothing. It sickens me. It's outrageous. The Founders are spinning in their graves. Our nation, governed by imbeciles and corrupt politicians, is trillions of dollars in debt-- strangling the future prosperity of our children and grandchildren-- all to boost the stock price of corporations that supply the DOD with supplies. Russia and China are laughing at us, watching us waste all this treasure and blood, as they prepare to put us in our place.

No, they are human beings and God’s children as much as you or I. Let’s not ascribe negative stereotypes across a religion that has nearly 2 billion members, most of whom are peaceful. We cannot come to any positive resolution by comparing our best to their worst. These countries are as backwards as they come. The Devil delights in these conflicts and he’s the only winner.

This is exactly what happens when your CIC constantly appologizes to the enemy, you get Americans confused and they no longer understand why they are fighting a losing battle. If the CIC has no guts to fight the war than the coward should bring our troops home now....

This is what happens when people deny reality and try to define WAR as something it is not. Changing a definition does not change reality. Innocent people die in war. Pretending otherwise only prolongs it.

Does anyone really think that we would have been attacked, with all we have in our arsenal, if our enemies believed that we defined war as war?

I wonder if the individual is a muslim.

As expected, I’ve read reports of purported eyewitnesses who say they saw a group of drunk and laughing Americans.

I heard Harry “The War Is Lost” Reid use the plural when referring to the alleged shooter. I tried to find his quote online, but the word (”soldiers,” I believe) has been replaced with an editorial singular “service member.”

Since World War II the United States has been fighting “wars” that are “police actions” to maintain order.

Phrases like the “New World Order” have been used by leaders like Bush 41 to describe it.

Rumsfeld himself said the “war” after September 11th is not like the ones fought in the past.

The war in Afghanistan is what conservatives I listened to as a child in the 1970’s called a “no-win war.”

Vietnam was such a war with “rules of engangement” to prevent a conventional military victory like World War II.

Afghanistan is a higher-tech, lower casualty version of Vietnam.

"...most of whom are peaceful."

Sharia law is peaceful? Most Muslim's desire this calling of an oppressive political/religious system. Does God want His children living in chains? Tell me, why do you support oppression? Islam is peaceful, LOL!!!

God's children hear His voice, not satan's and lucifer is in every ear of a devote Muslim.

Also what stereotypes? Pick up a history book, read their "abomination" of a so-called holy book, look at their prophet's deeds, go to "moderate along with peaceful" Saudi Arabia with Cross on and Bible in hand and see what happens, peaceful my behind.

I had an Iranian room-mate for a few months while in college in the 70s. He was one of the nicest guys you could meet. And he hated and feared BOTH the Ayatollah & the Shah. He said both only wanted personal power, and both were evil men. He wanted to stay in America, because America has religious freedom. He told me I didn’t know how good I had it, as a Baptist, to be free to worship the way I believed.

However, you wouldn’t find many of that opinion in rural Afghanistan. It is a place where men are willing to die for the right to kill their women - wives and daughters - if they feel like it. There are pockets of extreme evil. And having spent 6 months in Afghanistan, I can now understand those passages in the Bible where God commanded the Jews to kill everyone...

Opinion polls in Egypt and elsewhere has shown 80% support for stoning adulterous women and killing those who convert to Christianity.

That is the real face of islam. The vast majority of muslims are not peaceful in any real way. Thety just refrain from fighting now that they can’t win. Once that changes... Welll, just see how they treat non-muslims anywhere they rule.

The peaceful majority is nothing but fantasy.

There’s a lot of moralistic indocrination going on in schools about anything and everything from climate change to multiculturalism etc. etc.

When ONE American says something, Muslims kill each other and threaten to kill ALL Americans because of the action and WORDS of ONE American.

We are told we MUST try to understand the rage and how WE caused the bad wwords or actions.

When will someone tell MUSLIMS that THEIR words and actions cause this and that THEY must consider what their words or actions were that caused these events?

Wouldn't surprise me if this was orchestrated by our own government to give 0bama the excuse he's been CRAVING to get out of Afghanistan. Our government leaked the book burning on purpose, hoping that would be the catalyst. That wasn't enough so we stepped it up with 'a civilian slaughter'. Anyone who doesn't entertain this possibility doesn't understand that lengths the 'Saul Alinskyites' are willing to go to, to achieve their goals; Such as sabotaging a BP oil rig to implement moratoriums on domestic oil drilling, or flooding Mexico with assault weapons to impose harsher gun restrictions (gun control) on American firearms dealers; By the way how many Mexican civilians have died as a result of our regime's 'Fast & Furious' plot?

Don't be surprised if Leon Panetta sets into motion this soldier being tried by a World Court.. He already set the stage for it in his comments last week, right?

Sounds very hinky to me. American soldiers do not do things like this. What is the soldier’s name? Who was he with? Was he told to do this by some “contractor”—or was he a contractor?

Sounds as if it is a set up, to build on the “burning the Q’ran” hysteria. This sets up a battle cry and recruitment tool for all muslim soldiers to turn on Americans.

This is the way the muslims wage war. Propaganda and hysteria...terrorism.

Then again, ya have to understand, we have a government running this military, who refuses to even secure/protect our own borders/homeland during war time. Even after 911. This is one of the few things government is actually required/supposed to do, but refuse.

In fact, Bush allowed in more Muslims after 911, than in the previous two decades, all while leaving the doors to our home, wide open during war time.

Considering these facts, it totally impeaches and undermines the legitimacy and credibility of our government.

“Since World War II the United States has been fighting “wars” that are “police actions” to maintain order.”

Excellent point. These “police actions” create profits for some, the tragic loss of lives and loss of quality of life for many others. Rarely can they ever be actually won using said rules of engagement, or do they actually benefit the USA, and I question if they are about defending the USA and our freedoms. Why? Because while we are stretched all over the world frittering away the last gasp of our credit, we are being invaded and our borders breached regularly by those bring in drugs and crime and war to American citizens inside of our borders.

Another thing I find troubling is that many of the same politicians that historically wanted the USA to have full and open immigration, amnesties and open borders, are the same ones promoting secure borders for Israel. The fact that we have USA politicians pushing for open USA borders while closed in Israel doesn’t make any sense. Why would they not care about the USA?
