Civilians dead, but at least no Korans were burned so it’s okay, right?
Oh yea, kinda like the Muslim Major down in Texes who opened fire on his fellow soldiers for no reason. I think the good Major was given a pass. Let us see what happens to our G.I. Bambi will probably turn him over to the local stone throwers...
10 Afghan Civilians Shot Dead By “Abnormal” US Soldier

(RTTNews) - An American soldier, who is said to have been suffering from a nervous breakdown, shot dead at least 10 civilians and wounded five others in a per-dawn incident in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar on Sunday.
The unnamed soldier reportedly walked out of his military base in Panjwai district by around 3 am local time and started shooting at civilians in neighboring houses in the village of Alkozai, reports said.
A local reporter who visited the site said he saw at least 16 bodies, including those of women and children, belonging to three families from the same village.
The rogue soldier then reportedly surrendered to US military authorities in his base, Western military officials said.
NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said the soldier was arrested, and that U.S. Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A), in cooperation with Afghan authorities, will investigate this incident. “This is a deeply regrettable incident and we extend our thoughts and concerns to the families involved,” ISAF said in a statement.
It referred requests for information regarding Afghan casualties to the Afghan Interior Ministry.
The US embassy in Kabul issued a travel alert advising against traveling near the military base, where local residents reportedly gathered to protest the killings.
After endless orders to bow down to Islamic sensitivities, excuses for Muslim savagery taught to our soldiers through reeducation training, ROEs that get us killed and stop us from killing the enemy, and threats to try our troops for burning already desecrated Korans ... expect more of this.
Hmm. Bet the Taliban thought they had the market locked up on that sort of stuff.
Being the parent of a Marine over there now, I see this as a truly devastating event.
THE SOLDIER MUST BE BROUGHT HOME and we must defend him.
How many Afghan citizens are murdered every week by the Taliban? Lets watch for the reaction of the Afghan people at this time.
If they riot and attack us for vengeance, if one of our military members is killed in vengeance,
I will say what I have not EVER said, Get them all out, because, if we are attacked in vengeance than in all justice the native Afghanistan people who riot should be rioting and avenging those murdered by the Taliban who should be tried as murderers according to Afghan law, if there a law against traitors to the Afghan Constitution.
Karzai, this is another test for you, and another test for all the people of Afghanistan.
Petraus, if this military campaign falls apart it is because of YOUR strategies and God help the US with you as the head of the CIA.
Look, we’re scheduled to withdraw, we trying to negotiate a surrender, and we’re forcing our soldier to obey Sharia Law. Isn’t it time we just pack up and the get out of the place. We can support those tribes who don’t want to be dominated by the Taliban, if there are any, from a distance. And, the next time they attack us, we can simply flatten the country from the sky. This is a case where mission creep, first under Bush and then under Obama, took over.
It would be interesting to know how many tours of combat that this soldier has pulled. The concept that you could continually put a guy through twelve months of war...then give them eighteen months off, and repeat the twelve months of war again...has never been really studied. I suspect that we will eventually find out that continuous war deployments probably aren’t that smart.
I totally agree with you. Furthermore, I heard Newt this morning on Face the Nation say we are not willing to be ruthless enough to win the war over there and we should reconsider what we are doing there.
I’d be suffering a breakdown to if I found out my fellow soldiers were being prosectuted for Koran destructions that had been defaced to start with.
Now our soldiers are suffering ‘workplace violence’ under Obama.
