He warned me that the next time his people rioted, they wouldn’t stay in their ghettos — they would invade the white communities.

He was just messin' with your head. Moreover, in the absence of any actual documentation, I would doubt his tall tales and figure he just got tossed in the slammer for beating up his girlfriend or robbing the QuikTrip. Real gang members (or ex gang members) don't talk.

And, of course, he is wrong. Our suburban community, though far from lily-white (plenty of middle class and professional black families live here), is right across the river from the wrong side of Atlanta. During the big Atlanta riots some years ago, the Atlanta P.D. (which is clueless at the best of times) informed the county sheriff that if the rioters decided to cross the river, the APD would be unable to stop them.

The community is full of veterans (at the time it was mostly Nam and Korea with a sprinkling of tough old WWII guys, including a former bird colonel of artillery. Now of course you'd have the Desert Storm and Afghanistan crew as well.) Within 3 hours they had a chain of command set up, radio communications established (including a courtesy contact in the county sheriff's office) and the bridgehead boxed tight as a drum with numerous experienced riflemen dug in along the railway embankment.

As it turned out, the rioters came up to the other end of the bridge and decided that nobody wanted to take that long walk down 50 yards of bare concrete.

While I did not live here at the time, I heard all about it from the guys involved, who thought it was great fun but (being realists) were glad it didn't get to the shooting stage.

Still, if a bunch of amateur part-time rioters encounter highly motivated veterans defending their homes, wives, and children -- I know who is going to lose that one.

He’s referring to the blogger calling himself “Ulsterman” and his series of interviews with an anonymous source he calls the “White House Insider”. Both of them are Democrats, but the conversations are all decidely anti-Obama. A lot of people think or thought there was no “Insider”, but some of the things he has predicted turned out to be true (others, not so much).

Personally, I think the “Insider”, if he exists, might be James Carville.

I read that into this attack on Palin, too, but don't want to pin too much hope on what she might or might not do in this election cycle. The lady holds her cards so closely, I doubt that anyone can read her intentions.

I will say though, watching her CPAC speech brought everything back to me, about what an excellent leader she is, how inspiring she is, and how effortlessly she could step in and capture the support of the people, if she wanted to.

Tell you what, Sarah runs TEA Party and I vote for her without reservation. Say goodbye to the Republican Party- they left us and any real opposition to Marxist Liberalism but, worse than that, they forgot what America stands for and wouldn't stand up to defend her. Or Sarah, who has withstood attacks that have steeled her for a battle with the Left they'll soon regret.

You fight fire with fire, not sponges. Obama has lit the Left's bonfires as no other in our history, and we're supposed to extinguish it all by squeezing a wet-sponge conservative like Romney? We're up against a community organizer who's been running for re-election since the swearing-in ceremony in '09. We have to throw our best at their best and it ain't the current field.

Google Sarah's 2012 CPAC speech and watch a mother of five define conservatism like none of those currently in the running ever could. Forty minutes long, but worth every minute. Besides, voting third party is getting old, ie the Republican ticket. The Second Party is the TEA Party folks. When some command, "Wake up People!" I must admit the slumber has been extensive but I awoke a while back to the reality that Republicans no longer represent who they say they do and should make way for the real conservative party.

That’s me, too. I thought after the Tea Party successes of 2010, the country was ripe for a full-force, Palinesque anti-corruption/reformist movement, coincided with a return to constitutional conservatism. Especially after all the unparalleled, mind-boggling sleaze and graft of Obama’s Porkulus, the statist Obamacare nightmare, Solyndra and green-energy kickbacks, etc.

But, it seems as though the establishment “GOP proper” had no interest whatsoever going in this kind of direction, prefering instead a desire to just shift the sleazy governmental pig-trough of cash back into their direction. The GOP poured cold water on all that intense energy that was just waiting in reserve, ready to flame up, while doing everything they could to grease the skids for damp-squib, zero-conviction Romney.

So, yeah, the country is looking pretty unsalvageable at this point, with preparations of a post-America situation something to sincerely calculate.

Its possible. I just finished watching The Undefeated, if you can watch it I really suggest you see it. Its very powerful, and I think that she could still run, especially if there is a brokered convention, which is exactly what the left is terrified of, that she can still run and if she does run that she will win. Julianna Smoot is the Deputy Manager of Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential reelection campaign having previously served as White House Social Secretary, Deputy Assistant to the President., and Chief of Staff to United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk. Smoot previously served as a professional fundraiser for the Democratic Party. She was the national finance director for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama.

Under Smoot’s direction, the campaign raised $32.5 million during the second quarter of 2007 and by election day, more money than any campaign in American history. She was named Social Secretary after her predecessor, Desiree Rogers resigned on February 26, 2010.

Smoot was born in North Carolina. She graduated from Smith College in 1989. Smoot served as finance director for then Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle and as finance director for Senator John Edwards’s Senate race in 1998. She has also held positions with Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois and Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia.

During the 2006 election cycle, she served as finance director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Smoot was, according to a press report, declared “MVP for the first fundraising quarter” due to her success in raising money for the Obama presidential campaign in 2007.

Thanks for the eye-opening anecdote. Interestingly enough, many of the Koreans in the picture you posted had gone through 2-1/2 years of military training as draftees, and some were ex-professional military in the South Korean armed forces.
