The fast food chain Chick-Fil-A, which has come under attack in the past for the conservative Christian values of its owners, is now fighting homosexual activists who want to see the restaurant kicked off college campuses across the country.
According to a Baptist Press report, the company has been at the center of controversy on at least nine campuses, including Duke University, Northeastern University, and New York University (NYU).
Students who want to see the restaurant kicked off campus or blocked from coming point to its donations to conservative Christian charities as evidence of its “anti-gay” agenda. According to IRS documents, WinShape, a charitable foundation funded by the company, funneled about $2 million to groups such as the Marriage & Family Legacy Fund, Focus on the Family, Exodus International, and the Family Research Council in 2009.
These donations, say NYU freshman Hillary Dworkoski, show that the restaurant is out of sync with her university’s “open and inclusive campus.”
“Maintaining a contract with an anti-gay vendor like Chick-fil-A undermines what makes this university so great,” she wrote, in a Change.org petition asking the school to give the fast food chain the boot.

If enough people avoid the establishment it will fold.

Chick-Fil-A has no business on a university’s “open and inclusive campus.” Does this bonehead not see the contradiction here?

People who claim to be “open and inclusive” are not, as is the case when seeking to shut down those they do not agree with.
Chik FilA’s policy is not to refuse service, but these colleges’ policies sure are. To paraphrase Pfr Sowell: I think they are confusing ‘diversity’ with ‘narrow ideological conformity’!
They'll have to to produce their own hope for the nation.

BTW, I found the rejection response from the student senate in the campus paper - here's a GREAT excerpt:
"As a general rule, the Student Senators Council believes that freedom of expression is the most important virtue of an institute devoted to education. The SSC also believes there is a fundamental difference between personal boycott and institutional prohibition. To ban any entity from campus for ideological reasons is, in most every case, to limit freedom of expression. It is because of this fact that the Council takes the weight of evidence very seriously when considering proposed bans."
Sounds like some of the kids there still have a little sense.
Just wait and see who replaces Chik-Fil-A on these campuses, and boycott them, spread the word that it’s gay chicken. 2% of the population with maybe 30% supporting their agenda on a good day, versus the rest of the country. I think I know who will win that confrontation.
"Open and inclusive" to all who agree with this female on every issue.
They could also feature the “DADT” Burger. You never know if it’s Halal meat or pink slime or what.

Plus, they probably like the food. Hubby is a college football nut, and he follows a bunch of college football players mostly at our alma mater. They love chick-fil-a. A lot. Our college aged children love chick-fil-a on their campuses.
Woman at work mentioned that Chick Fil A is “Christian” and “racist”. I swear liberals are disgustingly misinformed idiots.
Btw does this story ever get to the details? I believe CFA’s great sin is that the owner donated to some churches which among many other things believe homosexuality is counter to bible teaching. Isn’t that his absolute right?

In Philadelphia they drove a health club owner out of business. His crime was daring to donate to Santorum’s senate reelection campaign. The term “nazi’ was used repeatedly. These people are despicable.

As soon as any school kicks a business off campus for poltical speach - it needs to stop taking any government funding for anything. These schools function as government agents.

The owmer is a devout Southern Baptist who has the temerity to observe the Sabbath on Sunday. Everything spins off of that. I knew a fair number of leftist activist sorts years ago, and they were ranting about that even then. One even said they had no right to be closed when he wanted a Chik-Fil-A sandwich. Years ago.
Trying to remember (ever) hearing anyone described as a “heterosexual activist”.
Obviously a majority of people hold the opposite opinion of the gay lobby.
Those opposed to gays, are logically, heterosexual activists.
Demand to be described as such.
Hey, I say more power to Chik-Fil-A and I think this campus brouhaha about the nongay sympathies of the company is another exposure of campus activist hypocrisy.
I’m not so sure I can rave as much about the food. It’s okay, and it’s a little better than Burger King’s. But, McDonald’s and the Kentucky Colonel both do better fried chicken pieces. The peanut oil does not lend as good a flavor as more conventional soy, corn, or canola might, and there is some medical concern that frying in peanut oil releases irritants to blood vessels that frying in other fats and oils does not.
Our way or no way at all.

I started going to Chick Filet when the fruits started boycotting it.
I found it’s a damned good sandwich that the service is good and it’s people respectful and busy. Nobody sits around there, they are all busy.
I have grown to really like it, and the faggots are just hurting themselves and missing out on a good lunch. Well what I call lunch, what they call lunch is a bit different.

It also adds a slightly bitter, chemical aftertaste that becomes more and more noticable as the food cools. Fries from some fast food establishments are nearly inedible unless piping hot, for this reason. I seek out places that do not use Canola, actually rapeseed oil, because of it.
And here I thought it was because ‘chick’ was in the title.
Totally changes the importance and the saying “Where’s the beef?”
