Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday laughed at Democrats for having tried to use the radio host’s now-infamous “slut” comment to their political advantage, gloating about recent polls showing President Barack Obama’s approval numbers tanking while taunting, “They thought I was finished.”
“Remember, one week ago, they thought it was over. One week ago, they thought for one day, there was a Santa Claus. Normally, they don’t believe in Santa Claus, but they did,” Limbaugh said at the beginning of his three-hour afternoon show. “They thought I was finished. They thought you [the listeners] were vanquished, and Obama was elevated to heights that would make him unbeatable.
He added, “And don’t doubt me when I tell you they are in shell shock.”
As he played a series of audio clips of media commentators suggesting a few weeks ago that Limbaugh calling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” was a “gift” and political “opportunity” for the president, Limbaugh said, “One week after launching this all-out attack on your host — a sure winner! Going to launch Obama and the Democrats back to electorate success! What happened?”

Lets see Limbaugh’s grandpa practiced law till he was 100, i am sure that Rush will be on the air as long as there is radio......or for another 40 years what ever comes first.
I started listening to Rush back in the 80’s when he first became syndicated. From the beginning they thought he was a looser and would amount to nothing. Several million dollars later, they are still saying the same thing. Fools never learn.

My Rush days also go pretty far back...before Dan’s bake sale.
I would have been listening even earlier, but I lived out in the country where daytime AM radio reception was almost impossible.
One time I tuned my Collins shortwave receiver to the Armed Forces Radio System to hear Rush.
Now I am in Asia and record him while asleep via DAR.fm service.
I go back to when Rush was a lone wolf in Sacramento, CA.
Boy, he was raw back then. LOL!
He toned it down a bit for the national audience.
Ho Chi Fonda and that NAG, Steinhem, didn’t help when they started flapping their lips and decided to pile on. They took the wind right out of the commie libs’ sails. Fonda really needs to shut up and just go away. REAL Americans still hate her for her treason against our country. Fonda and Steinhem were a gift to our side.

I don’t think they understand. Rush listeners would pay to listen. I am sad that I will probably outlive rush and thus miss him terribly for that part of my life. He is one of the greatest gifts this country has been given. He is a national treasure. He taught many of us far more about America than these schools ever did or dared.
I think Rush was fortuitus to have bounced back after his poor choice of words to describe that lib bimbo as he could have made his point without giving them air time. Fortunately her message was so insane to be a non starter. All the furor raised over discussing what is and what is not a slut or prostitute almost took all the air out of the argument against her and the dems position. Fortunately for him and the country, the lunacy of her ideas shown through.
In other words, Rush should quit while he is ahead. He is definitely correct on a collateral front, the Turd and his people will be looking for another subject to tie up the news to keep the spotlight away from the real issues: the economy, gas prices, illegal aliens, foreign relations and related disasters; and Obamacare.
Allred et all likely want every conservative arrested.
Many, many millions later. Used to get him in 1988 on a very weak Springfield AM station...think it was WSPR 1270. He came through on a Promo tour and charged 12.70 to go along with the call letters. When I first heard him, all I could think after listening to Boston talkmasters for many years ( and calling in to debate them)that...OMG...this guy sounds like me!!! I was blown away....I am not alone... Still a fan although I don’t get to listen as often.
I don’t know about the longevity prognostication, golfers tend to last a long time...look at Bob Hope or Paul Harvey!
Could someone put up a list of companies that have decided to stick with Rush?? I can’t find anything on the Internet except the companies (140, I think) that have ditched him— companies I will NEVER do business with again.
I’d like to support those companies that are not a part of this witch hunt and believe in the First Amendment.

I’m not a Rush bot ... meaning that I don’t agree with everything Rush says, just 95%. I listened to the program wherein he made his “supposed” offending remarks and have yet to find anything wrong with what he said.
If I were to speak in the forum of radio, I would have called her a whore and a slut as well. From her remarks, that is just what she is.

The words were incindiary and took away from his on the mark commentary IMO. I agree with his position 100% just not the method he chose to employ. I guess we will have to agree to disagree about this but just like in sports, the referee should not be the story.
I bought a pillow from TemperPedic instead of Select Comfort, and am buying a part for my stove from a local appliance dealer rather than directly from SEARS.

What station do you use to record Rush on Dar.fm? I recently started using Dar and not once have I been able to record his show. Dar always says “station unavailable”. Frustrating...

No, they didn't. When an astonished audience saw itself lectured to by the likes of Gloria Steinem on the topic of civility toward the opposite sex, and by Jane Fonda on the topic of avoiding divisiveness, we found ourselves in a grotesque, parody-defying alternate universe of hypocrisy. You can't even make that stuff up - nobody would believe it.

Rush explained how the ads work. Most are local, some 18,000
of them. He has either replaced, or in the process of replacing the few he lost. No harm.

I found Rush in May of '89 and have been listening ever since. He's like family.
Regarding the above mentioned quote, I'm always fascinated when Rush says that, because he's never wrong. I recall him talking about Fast and Furious months before it ever got legs and he said, "This whole thing is about undermining the 2nd Amendment. Don't doubt me." Lo and behold, a few months later that is where the conversation pointed. He doesn't use that phrase too often, but when he does it's purposeful and he knows he's right.

IIRC, I selected by the program, not the station, but I see that they record my Rush from KFBK.
I have never missed a beat.
My little business along with a dozen other little businesses sponsored his 2 Rush to Excellence speaking engagements here on the far north coast of Calif. It entitled us to 2 private receptions with him. He flew the Red Eye commercial airlines to Sacramento where he was picked up and flown up here by private aircraft...

Well, Collins is famous for stability and selectivity, but a bit weak on sensitivity.
As a ham I had Drake, but I was in the radio communications business and had the old Collins 51J3 rack mount receiver
in my business shop for some test and calibration procedures, but mostly as a novelty.
There was some Black Guy from Politico going on and on about Rush, implying that his comments somehow unmasked the evil that the Liberals always knew existed in Rush's soul.
He was giddy about Rush losing sponsors along with some empty headed brunette nodding her approval. Of course we all know that Rush is easily replacing the sponsors that bailed, but these people were acting like all this is new.
To top it off, the brunette was salivating about the fact that the FCC might boot Rush off the air. Bashir couldn't contain himself. He sounded like a cheerleader for that happening, not a host looking to get factual information.
They should call the show, The Useful Idiot Hour. It was downright amazing to watch, not that I ever will again. Two minutes is all I could stand. The TV would be a smoldering hunk if I watched any longer. My Remington would need a good cleaning after I picked up the the remains of the TV. This did prove one thing, Rush was right and I don't doubt him.
Used to pick him up out of AFRS Heidelberg, 1143 on your dial.
First hour only, and I think it was in real time, coming on in the early evening.
