Newt is far more conservative than Santorum
03/14/2012 | Entropy12

Posted on 03/14/2012 11:39:08 AM PDT by entropy12

Newt was the force behind Contract with America. That resulted in GOP win after 40 years of losses. Newt helped president Reagan balance budgets and create millions of new jobs, as Speaker of the House.

You failed to mention that the remainder of his campaign will serve no purpose other than to assure Mitt Romney the nomination.

Herman Cain was my first choice.
Then I switched to Newt.

However?

Newt sat on the couch with Nancy.

Newt said FDR was among our “greatest Presidents”

Newt attacked Paul Ryan's plan

Newt has HIS troubles and problems, just like any candidate.

Try the “Serenity Prayer” as there is little hope, now, for Gingrich to pull off a clear-cut victory. Even Newt, himself, calls Santorum a “Conservative” ! (Or were you listening to Newt, last night?)

I would prefer that Santorum drops out and clears the path for the real conservative, Newt Gingrich, with a proven record of big accomplishments.

No particular fan of any of the three... But I get a kick out of Santorum being transformed into a Jim DeMint type Republican.

The guy was a one trick pony as a Senator. He was a leader of the social conservative wing. Other than that he was pretty much a run of the mill Bush (semi)big government republican.

I wouldn’t put him in the class of a RINO or a Mitt Romney, but Gingrich was a much more fiscally conservative rep.

Newt has admitted sitting on the couch with Nancy was a mistake. It takes a big man to admit his mistakes, correct them and move on.

But Newtbelieves in man-caused global warming, a complete leftist fantasy, and should have been smart and principled enough to know better

Santorum has never pushed this point of view.

Like it or not, Gingrich has a huge problem with women, conservative women being no exception. There are those, Mrs. Lucky comes to mind, who have loved, honored and obeyed their husbands, through sickness and in health who will no more abide by serial adultery in a Republican candidate than they did in Bill Clinton.

I was going to post that you are going to be attacked for any reference that Santorum is not “Fiscally” Conservative, too late. But we do know there is a “Fiscally” Conserative in the race that also has an excellant voting record on “Socially” Conservative issues. I also believe Newt is responsible for obama’s drop in the polls because of Newt’s energy policy and obama’s weak responses to him, the White House reduced to saying he lied then having to retract that. Newt is the one we need to beat obama.

We all know this is how it works, how conservative he is has no bearing on anything.

Please read what else was attached to many of Santorum’s actual votes sometime. It would be fairly simple to go back to Newt’s votes as well and cherry pick things that would make him look bad. How many budget items, for example, did he vote for that would not pass his own tests?

“Newt is NOT convinced the global warming is man made. He is keeping his mind open. The fact is no one knows for sure if man is contributing to increase in global warming.”

that’s NOT what he said from the couch with Pelosi.

Anyone with a speck of common sense should have noticed the rush to judgment back then in favor of man-made global warming. When you start wanting to try skeptics as people akin to “holocaust deniers,” you’re no longer doing science.

You can say whatever you like about how Newt would be the better man. It matters not. The hour is late. Newt can't make up ANYTHING and will not be the nominee.

Pushing for him to get more delegates does not hurt Romney.

There is nothing good about actively campaigning for Newt any more.

If he had won decisively last night over Santorum I'd have begun supporting Newt today, reluctantly. I know it will be hard to realize this.

John King at CNN put forth on his delightfully easy to follow electronic delegate counting graphic various scenarios last night, and I happened to catch that segment twice. There is no way around it:

If Santorum does his best reasonably imaginable from here on. with Romney winning all the predicted Romney win battles, Santorum catches up to Mitt and can win. If Gingrich steps out now. With Gingrich still in the race, most likely Romney gets them all in enough time to win. Or is missing a tiny amount by the convention. He WILL be the nominee.

It is crystal clear.
