Romney: Conservatives Who Don't Like Me Now Will Learn To When I'm The Nominee (video)
RealClearPolitics ^ | RealClearPolitics

Posted on 03/14/2012 4:00:22 PM PDT by i88schwartz

Mitt Romney talks to FOX News' Megyn Kelly about attracting support from conservative voters.

"When you ask in these prior elections, 'who as conservatives did you vote?,' I won the conservative vote. Some who are very conservative may not yet be in my camp, but they will be when I become the nominee, when I face Barack Obama. Because again, what the nation wants is someone who understands the economy, not, if you will, an economy lightweight. I mean, Senator Santorum is a nice guy but he does not understand how the economy works. He's never had a job in the real economy. You have to understand this economy in order to fix it," he said.

Most will vote for him. Or against Obama, who is the real villan in this little drama. Along with his henchmen Pelosi, Reed, Schumer, Bill & Hillary and that ugly, detestable FL woman with the three names.....Schultz.

The problem may not necessarily be the conservatives who vote third party or don’t wote for president at all. Although that will be a significant drag on Romney if he is the nominee.

The bigger problem seems to be Romney’s flip-flops on abortion, gay rights, and especially Obamacare. There is simply no plausible way to justify Romney’s support in Massachusetts of a state plan AND his touting that plan as a model for the nation.

When repeal is a very strong issue for the Republicans, how on Earth can they contemplate nominating someone with that record? Is there any other nationally prominent Republican who was MORE supportive of the President’s plan, rhetorically at least? I can’t think of one, unless Arlen Specter is counted. But he switched parties.

What credible answer will Romney have in the debates on this issue? (Or will it sound like Ralph Kramden’s “humina humina humina” answer when his wife caught him in one of his schemes?) And how long will it take for Democrats to say that the Republicans just want to replace Obama with a white guy, and there are no huge differences on policy?

Yeah, Romney’s a winner all right - conservatives will love him, and moderates will flock to him because he’s so different from Obama.

And if Romney treats the people he wants to support him so condescendingly now, how the h*ll will he act once he’s in office???!!!

Hello, Republican establishment, are you listening? Bueller? Bueller?

I apologize if this message is too pessimistic, but really what else can be said? I am doing what I can to help get a conservative nominated.

PS It is ironic to me that the choice in November might come down to they guy sho SUPPORTED the personal mandate in the past (Romney) and the guy who ran AGAINST the personal mandate in the 2008 primaries (Obama). It’s hard for me to be optimistic about the future sometimes.

Romney: Conservatives Who Don't Like Me Now Will Learn To When I'm The Nominee

You just keep telling yourself that, Mitt.

Let me be clear: It'll be that proverbial "cold day in Hell" when I vote for Mitt Romney. He's a ghoul and a monster with regard to abortion. He's a liar where it comes to the second amendment. Literally, it will never happen.

I don't vote for people who try to one-up their opponents where it comes to abortion advocacy.

More Democrats will actually vote for Romney in the general than conservatives will.....Romney certainly will get significant cross-over vote from Centrist Dems, but it won’t nearly be enough.

This is a terrible headline. It is not what Romney said, and it is written to sway people. Let the facts play themselves out, but dont result to NYT tactics. If they wanted to hit him for smarmyness, they should have gone aft his saying he won important states while discounting Ms and Al.

If we all don’t unite behind and vote for the GOP nominee, whomever it is, we’ll get another 4yrs of Bammy, and America’s finished for good. We’re getting close to halfway there now, I believe. I’d prefer Palin, DeMint, Gingrich, Bachmann, Santorum etc, but we’re only going to get one chance at this after the convention, so we’d better make it count for a win.

Are you going to stay home, if “your guy” doesn’t get the nod, and let Obummer waltz right back in for 4 more? This is the most important election in our lifetimes. 2008 was a disaster; this’ll be catastrophic if we don’t get that POS out of the WH.

Either is National suicide. Zero will lead to Revolution quicker, and that’s the ONLY thing that will save our Republic. It will take a series of Constitutional Conservative presidents in a row, with like-minded congresses, to reverse the rot 70 years of liberalism/socialism has lead this once-great Nation to.

Bring it.... I’d rather fight the battle myself than see my kids in slavery to a tyrannical government.

So magic Mitt is going to bring the babies who died via the $50 and free abortions back to life?
He's going to wave his fairy wand and make gay marriage disappear?
He's going to roll back time and undo Romneycare and Obamacare?
He'g going to drop his mandates and fees and his love for them as well?
He's going to remove the knives he's placed in conservative backs for years, apologize to Reagan for smearing him after his death, and repay every conservative he's trashed?

OH NO?!

Then he's doing another round of begging for support.

Mitt Romney: Oh please please support me. I'll do or say anything to get elected. Just please tell me what it is you want. I can pay you.

NO! I will never support him.

No. F*cking. Way.

Mitt, I’d rather have the real liberal kill the country and let the D’s take the hit than vote for you, have the same thing occur, and have the R’s take the hit.

This is the same calculus the rest of conservatives had when they wrote somebody in during the 2008 idiocy.

If the American people really intend to destroy the place, and the Republicans INSIST on hiring a liberal to run for the job, then I’ll write in Gingrich, watch Obama get reelected, and get ready for the relocation camp.

You’re not up to the job Mitt. It’s really that simple.

No way am I going to like him. Vote for him I might, but that is because he is the least odious choice and the only guy left standing between America and sure destruction.

Another thing. Romney is fond of saying "0bama is a nice guy but he is just in over his head". Anybody who really thinks that is in over his head and cannot lead this nation out of the wilderness!

Romney may be a loser, but he may be the only one left in the ring to stand between us and catastrophe. The thought of it almost makes me want to weep.

I disagree with you concerning the Democratic Party pushing Romney.

There is a reason Romney is backed by the likes of the Bush Family. And yes, neither the Bush’s nor Romney are conservative.

Exit polls in Ohio indicated that Romney is getting moderates and dissatisfied Democrats, liberals who will not vote for a do-over by BHO2.

I suspect that is why the GOPe have been promoting Romney. As he was a liberal-governing Massachusetts, he can attract liberal Democrats away from BHO2.

For Romney, and Wall Street in particular, are Globalists who care not a wit for conservative values.

First and foremost, they see themselves as world citizens, responsible for maintaining peace and security world-wide through commerce. And of course, getting rich is important, too, as it keeps the military ‘machine’ primed and ready to maintain the all important security overseas.

Unfortunately, that military is paid for by tax revenue and staffed by the sons and daughters of people who no longer have jobs, as those have all been moved offshore by the above mentioned “world citizens”.

For those who do not know what I’m talking about, here’s a quick primer.

This election in 2012 is all about money, power, and who will eventually wield both here at home and internationally.
Gov.Mitt Romney is the candidate for the elitist Republicans who are, in essense, supporters of Globalism.

Wall Street elitist’s business model is international in scope and must have security overseas in order for commerce to thrive. In an attempt to dominate international commerce AND the monetary structure, the U.S.A. must project military strength world wide. This is neither conservative nor liberal in orientation and both Democrats and Republicans have been involved over the decades.

Until Obama. He’s all about Global Social Justice (communism) which means redistributing wealth.

The only thing that matters to Republican Globalists is making money for themselves and getting back in power. They don’t give a damn about the rights of individuals.

The common man or woman on the street is just a “unit” to be taxed or obliterated, it matters not to them.

The last thing they want is for conservatives with Bibles and guns asserting their God-given rights and demanding that Washington, D.C., changes how it does business.

Senator Rick Santorum made big bucks selling his ability to get legislation passed for the Globalists above. For the past month I’ve been researching this man and he is not the staunch conservative he wants all of us to believe.

Ron Paul is a shill for Romney. Many Texans are embarrassed now, as they believed Paul’s lies.

The Bush family has been wrapped up in this scenario for a long time. G.W.Bush (POTUS #41) invoked the new world order at several critical junctures. On September 9, 1991, he told Gorbachev in Helsinki that each crisis is “an opportunity to develop out of this tragedy a new world order”. Two days later, Bush added: “Out of these troubled times, our fifth objective - a new world order - can emerge...We are now in sight of a United Nations that performs as envisioned by its founders.”

Progressives? Who would’ve guessed!

On October 1, 1990, President Bush told the General Assembly of the United Nations: “The United Nations can help bring about a new day...a new world order, and a long era of peace.”
