ATLANTA - President Obama opened his Friday of fundraising with a rousing speech to 600 donors in Chicago and closed it with an intimate appeal before 40 "friends" that included talk-show host, business woman and American icon, Oprah Winfrey.

"There's my good friend Oprah, who very early on when I was still running, just decided that she would support this guy with a name that nobody could pronounce," Obama said as he addressed guests seated around five candle-lit tables adorned with bouquets of red roses inside the cavernous Chateau-style home of actor/producer Tyler Perry.

"And just like books, skin cream - whatever she says she likes, then other people like to," he said. "She continues to be not just a friend but somebody Michelle and I seek out in thinking about not just the day to day issues of the day but trying to keep our focus on the big picture. And what she's done for so many people not just in America but around the world is extraordinary. "

Oprah was flanked at her table by Perry, longtime friend and companion Gail King, Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett, and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

"We've had a good day," Obama continued. "It's warm every place. It gets you a little nervous about what's happening to global temperatures. But when it's 75 degrees in Chicago in the beginning of March it gets you thinking…"

"Something's wrong," Oprah interjected.

"Yeah," Obama said in passing. "On other hand we really have enjoyed the nice weather."

He wants to stop the rising of the oceans, and allow the planet to heal.

At the time of the Texas wildfires last year, he said that Rick Perry was “governor of a state on fire who denies global warming”.

Why does Obama continually talk about how people don’t know how to pronounce his name?

We know how to pronounce his name.

Now, Ted Kennedy once called him “Osama Obama”, but that was okay because Ted was a good Democrat, and all transgressions of good Democrats are forgiven. But I haven’t heard anyone else mispronounce it.

“Oprah and Friends” to teach course on New Age Christ

Oprah Winfrey will be letting out all the stops on her XM Satellite Radio program this coming year. Beginning January 1, 2008, “Oprah & Friends” will offer a year-long course on the New Age teachings of A Course in Miracles.1 A lesson a day throughout the year will completely cover the 365 lessons from the Course in Miracles “Workbook.”

For example, Lesson #29 asks you to go through your day affirming that “God is in everything I see.”2 Lesson #61 tells each person to repeat the affirmation “I am the light of the world.”3 Lesson #70 teaches the student to say and believe “My salvation comes from me.”4

By the end of the year, “Oprah & Friends” listeners will have completed all of the lessons laid out in the Course in Miracles Workbook. Those who finish the Course will have a wholly redefined spiritual mindset—a New Age worldview that includes the belief that there is no sin, no evil, no devil, and that God is “in” everyone and everything. A Course in Miracles teaches its students to rethink everything they believe about God and life. The Course Workbook bluntly states: “This is a course in mind training”5 and is dedicated to “thought reversal.”6

I think it's a shame socialists, like Oprah and Perry, can live in "cavernous" homes and have private jets when so many Americans have it so hard. If, Barry wins reelection, I think a movement should be started to pressure these people to put their money where their mouths are. They could be giving millions to all those programs they claim to care so much about. I know many of them do support some charities, but it's a drop in the bucket to what they could afford. I think their support of the poor is only pretense. They do just enough to keep the heat off them. They back President Obama, and say nothing against him calling for higher taxes on other people because they know their accountants will use every loophole to keep the higher taxes off them. I mean really, how many homes do these people need when there are so many people who are homeless? I'm tired of the hypocrisy.
