"According to analysts, the mine would have brought with it well over 500 jobs and eventually more than 2,000 — not including other jobs in manufacturing and services from Milwaukee in the southeast to small towns in the region in the north. The investment would have injected at least $1.5 billion into the local economy, too."

Democrats being Democrats.

and many of those jobs would be going to hardscrabble towns in the north, where currently a part-time gig at Dollar General is considered a pretty good job.

Nothing, NOTHING, matters to Democrats except defeating Walker in the recall election, and using it as propaganda momentum to propel Obama in to reelection.

If you monitor Daily Kos, the whackos are VERY CLEAR about what this means, and the more misery they can create in Wisconsin between now and then, the better.

The Democrat allies in the media are willingly playing along with this meme, too.

A part-time Dollar General on Foodstamps and WIC is a Sure-fire Democrat voter.
A well-paid conservative is not.

Liberals are all it takes to destroy a community

This needs to be repeated often and loudly. ALL of America's ills are caused by Liberals.

Liberals, Progressives, Socialists, Marxists, Communists. All the same, just different names.

There are several examples of very upset private union leaders speaking out very strongly against this action by the public union-controlled Legislature down in Madistan.

While the Pacific Northwest gets all the press concerning lib/sems destroying the logging industry, The Adirondacks of northern NY are filled with towns that barely subsist now thanks to what lib environmentalism and Dem politics did to the logging industry there.

Go to Google or whatever and look up the Tri-Lakes area. Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid (of Olympic fame) along with other area communities/and their businesses.. Read up on their history over the last 30-40 years. There, you see Wisc’s future.

The liberals who follow them off the cliff like lemmings are simply useful idiots. I have a difficult time understanding stupid.

Underlying the main story, is the realization of of future reality in Wisconsin. After every contentious partisan vote, there will be an effort to recall someone.

This is the Democrats contribution to “civil” political discourse.

I would argue that this is actually going to help Walker in the recall election and any others up in a recall or the general 2012 election. I think the Dems shot themselves in their collectivist feet on this one.

A well-paid conservative is not.

That is an obnoxious statement. Did it ever enter your mind that there are conservatives that because of circumstances have had to break down and seek government assistance?

Obviously not. Conservatives who do find themselves in that place seek to get out of it as quickly as possible, but do remain conservatives.

The Liberals, and the RINO, in voting down the mine also upset the union as the mine would have been a union mine. The only reason they voted against the mine is that they could not have a job-creating, successful enterprise start up in Wisconsin while Gov. Walker was in office as it would be a feather in his cap. They rejected the mine, gambling that Walker would be recalled in June, a Liberal Democrat governor would be seated, and then they would vote in favor of the mine to show the new governor was a job-creator. To their surprise, when they voted no and the mine company immedately announed, “see ya later, we’re done here,” the Liberals were stunned by that reaction and are now treading water.

Isn't it amazing that, no matter where it happens, Democrats are ALWAYS able to pick off one crucial Republican vote, but it seems that Republicans are NEVER able to pick off the one crucial Democrat vote?

Maybe that’s what should be happening. Until those we elected decide that they are there to do what we the people want done, maybe we should have more recall elections. You would certainly get a “cause and effect” scenario that perhaps they would begin to understand.

That’s why “The Bobsy Twins” from Maine need to go. They have “hinges on their heels” when it comes to “giving it up” for the RATs. Rather have a RAT in a seat than a RINO. At least you know going in that you are not going to have their vote.

Ironically, those same private-sector unions had no problem last year backing the public-sector unions (AFSCME, SEIU, et al) when they spent tens of millions of dollars recalling TWO of our senators. Those two senators would have voted in favor of those mining jobs.

Karma sucks. Deal with it, jackasses. (Not referring to you, bigbob.)

My strong guess is that Schultz was black mailed, bribed or threatened. He was given a ton of concessions, but obviously irrational, nothing would budge him. Was he afraid for the safety of himself or his family? Something was going on and it would be very interesting if we could get to the bottom of it. I hope he doesn’t end up dead, as a loose end needing to be cut off.
