PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The city must pay nearly $900,000 after a failed effort to evict the Boy Scouts of America because of the group's ban on gays, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.
The post-trial ruling is just the latest twist in a decade-long legal dispute over the Boy Scout oath, which requires members to be "morally straight."
The two sides have sought a compromise that would let the local Boy Scouts chapter keep its rent-free, city-owned headquarters without violating the national Scout policy.
However, a tentative deal struck since the city lost a court case last year has fallen apart. U.S. District Judge Ronald Buckwalter therefore said the city must pay $877,000 for the Scouts' legal fees.

It seems the artist/author is trying to say that the boy scouts (and Christians) are using bigotry and discrimination as a weapon.
This piece of political propaganda is not meant to be flattering to the scouts or Christians.

The Democrats running the place tried to intimidate and browbeat and extort the Boy Scouts into signing up homos to take little boys off into the woods, and the Boy Scouts, figuring this was not a good idea, told the Philthadelphia Democrats to go play in the street. And now Philthadelphia must pay, big.
It’s always nice to see a sunbeam of sanity in today’s America.

In 2003, it enacted its own nondiscrimination policy but was forced to repeal it when the Boy Scouts of America ordered it to conform to national rules. The chapter later enacted a statement that says it doesn't tolerate illegal discrimination.
But it does tolerate illegal discrimination against the Boy Scouts of America 1st Admendment to the tune of $800,000.00. Ouch!

On the other hand, at the Southern Region Banquet, I sat back-to-back with a Scoutmaster from Tennessee who had just completed 75 years as Scoutmaster with the same Troop. My table included the curator of the Norman Rockwell works at the BSA National Museum, and the Eagle Scout about to go to the South Pole as part of the bi-annual London Geographic Society program that always takes an Eagle Scout. One of the speakers was the Eagle Scout helicopter pilot shot down in Iraq and kept as a POW, whose badly beaten face had been on the cover of TIME or Newsweek. One of the Scouts awarded a heroism medal had been on a houseboat that exploded, and despite shattered legs and a broken arm, swam to shore and back several times, dragging unconscious people from the burning wreck (fuel had leaked on the water).
Scouting will survive. It's not a program; it's a movement. A world-wide movement.
That is indeed the least bloody option, but if we can't whip up a respectable third party, I don't think we can find it in ourselves to secede.

Buckwalter is as corrupt as they come. I'm very surpised by this ruling, but I suppose the law must be clear and there was no way around it without further exposing his sympathies.
Haven’t followed the case closely, other than when it started way back, the sheer audacity an organization builds you a building and donates it to the city and all it asks for is to be allowed the use the space,and some petty worthless [BLEEP] who cant figure out how genders are designed to work together for procreation decides to run them out.
Abjectly shameful. Far as I’m concerned the Scouts should take the building back in its entirety.
better yet, force them to secede... Move them to the big cities, cordon them off and leave them to the rats, bacteria and sewer people.

Sorry bout that, meant to say “right flight” but was in a hurry between running here and running there...and skipped a few revolutions to the comparison I intended to make to “white flight,” which DID happen in many areas. Like white flight, right flight will not result in meaningful improvement. Where the righteous go, they will not build, they will merely survive for a time and then be harvested by the Lord.
Unless you know of some far-thinking, organized nation-building types who are young, strong and determined?
