Police to ignore California impound law amid concern of fairness to illegal immigrants

By William Lajeunesse

Published March 22, 2012 | FoxNews.com

The Los Angeles Police Department will soon start ignoring California state law, which requires police to impound the vehicles of unlicensed drivers for 30 days.

The majority of unlicensed motorists in Los Angeles are immigrants who are in the country illegally and have low-income jobs. The LAPD says the state's impound law is unfair because it limits their ability to get to their jobs and imposes a steep fine to get their car back.

As long as drivers can produce some form of I.D., proof of insurance and vehicle registration, they'll be allowed to keep their car. Police Chief Charlie Beck insists that it's simply leveling the playing field.

"It's about fairness. It's about equal application of the law," Beck told a Los Angeles TV station earlier this month.

They will triple the cost of fines and impound fees for the sorry person who had the nerve to be legal; it’ll happen soon enough for the misfortunate one who can’t escape Lost Angel-Ass, CA.

Police to ignore California impound law amid concern of fairness to illegal immigrants.......

Welcome to the Third World.

You can bet vote-crazed US pols are behind this outrage---taking their orders from the Third World in exchange for votes.

"Fairness" for law breakers is the new norm.....what next? Giving 'em keys to the city?

====================================

It's sickening that citizens of every hellhole in the Third World can ignore our law......their interests supercede sacrosanct US laws.

US citizens are compelled to watch their country demeaned and marginalized.

US citizens must rise up and demand their country's laws be enforced.

Police to ignore California impound law amid concern of fairness to illegal immigrants. As long as illegals can produce some form of ID, proof of insurance and vehicle registration, they'll be allowed to keep their car.

Hmmmmm........this means fake document brokers will make a killing.

============================================== The federal ICE documents and benefits fraud task force" found: A common practice among "impoverished" illegals is to buy several faked identitues for several thousand dollars each----the illegal then votes and rides the US gravy train under several names. One latino stole $3.2 million UI benefits using several identities. Jose Madrigal---the Washington state rapist---had some 30 identities.

===========================================

July 21, 2006---BERGEN RECORD, NJ
Texans accused of selling counterfeit IDs
(impoverished illegals "here for a better life" pay several thousand $$$ for fake ID's)

Pelcastre brothers, Angel and Jorge, Dallas, Texas, were a walking threat to US national security, expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity, NJ L/E authorities said. The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses----for any state in the US------ passports and resident alien cards, said state police.

The Texas brothers turned a NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker. Officers happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in a NJ hotel parking lot. Authorities wouldn't identify the NJ hotel by name for fear it would spark retribution by savage South of the Border drug kingpins.

The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout. Authorities approached the Texas brothers when they returned to the NJ hotel and questioned them separately.

The Texas brothers consented to a search. Police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs.

All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street when sold to "impoverished illegals." Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 phony Social Security cards. ####

=========================================

THIS JUST IN A northern New Jersey man has admitted acting as a broker for a large black market ring that illegally sold digital driver licenses issued by the state. Forty-four-year-old Hildeberto Salinas of Carlstadt, NJ, pleaded guilty Monday to bribery and conspiracy charges. He faces a four-year prison sentence and a $20,000 fine when he’s sentenced April 27. Salinas says he brokered sales of licenses issued out of the state’s Motor Vehicle Agency in Lodi, NJ.

The fake licenses were sold to those who did not have the necessary identification to legally obtain a driver’s license. Salinas was among 40 people accused of roles in the widespread ring.

Officials have said the licenses were sold for $2,500 to $7,000 apiece to "impoverished" illegals, with the DMV clerks and the brokers splitting the money.

"If I get hit by an illegal alien in Los Angeles whose car was not towed because of this, I will sue the city."

There's a blast from the past. Good old Tom Tancredo had amassed much support for suing sanctuary cities when an Illegal had caused harm after coming into contact with local authorities. Never went anywhere though.....

You can be sure if you're black or white and driving without a license then your car will be impounded.

Hispanic: poor darling of the elites.

American: taxpaying serf.

Now I know how late 4th century Romans felt as they were taxed to death while the Emperor gave away huge tracts of land to Gothic invaders.

law is unfair because it limits their ability to get to their jobs and imposes a steep fine to get their car back.

However, it's OK to take an individual's drivers license for not paying enough child support and it's OK to take their car after it is impounded for thirty days. How does that individual get to their job?

"A low-income person doesn't have the ability to pay the fees after 30 days to get their car back," said Cardinal Roger Mahony.

Same argument as above.

I don’t know about this law.

Over a decade ago California voters passed an initiative which had cars driven by anyone without insurance impounded if they were stopped by a cop or were in a wreck.

It was a great law, but in a short time the PCers went nuts worrying that JoseJuanRicardoMaria whatever would lose their car, and our initiative died.

The left wing legislature passed a law which made insurance companies have uninsured motorist coverage in case your vehicle or you were damaged by uninsured motorists.

So as our number of illegas increased so did our illegal and uninsured drivers. We all pay higher insurance bills to cover the uninsured drivers.

That was a typical liberal way to handle any severe problem. Use OPM to cover the blatant violation of the law by uninsured drivers and nothing to lower the % of uninsured drivers.

Liberal legislators never handle or solve a big problem, they just pass more laws which cost us more while they waste the money looking at the growing problem.

The state’s new impound law has pretty much eliminated impounds for unlicensed drivers anyway. Any illegal caught at a checkpoint just needs to call a licensed friend and the vehicle will be released. Some of the “activists” are showing up as volunteer “friends”.

Most of the money goes to tow companies and the courts. The majority of the auctions are by the tow companies for unpaid impound costs. The illegals often just leave the car behind and buy another one at a curbside used car lot.

I wonder how much they’re increasing their liability coverage by? How many new attorney’s are they hiring to deal with the increased lawsuits by not only victims of these scum, but any legal, licensed driver who gets pulled over and isn’t given EQUAL due process?

A so-called “law enforcement officer” $hitting on this country and its laws, pandering to a group of law breakers that are $hitting on this country and what it USED to stand for.

I wonder who gets thrown under the bus when the first victim’s family of this treason wins their lawsuit against the LAPD, LA and the mayor?

No? Why not?

And isn’t it “racist” that I have to follow the law and they don’t?

The Los Angeles Police Department is not much on law
enforcement. If a legal citizen is driving without a
license, they will use all the brute force necessary and then some to bring the evil perp down. But when it comes
to criminal aliens, you can see the yellow run up their
spines. Every yellow cop, every pandering mayor and every
spineless governor that provide sanctuary for these criminal aliens should be held directly and personally
accountable for the crimes, death and destruction caused
by these criminal aliens.

I wonder how the officer on the scene thinks of this? Surely not everyone subscribes to this wacky liberalism.

American citizens are held to a higher standard than non-citizens? We are compelled by threat of penalty to abide by the law yet illegals get a pass?

Consider this. To come into this country and remain for ump-teen years you would need to do certain things to ensure you are able to elude, evade and avoid being discovered as an illegal.

Commit fraud, forgery and perjury on state, municipal and or federal documents.

If one has acquired a fake social security card, green card, fake birth certificate, placing incorrect statements on government assistance applications, HUD documents for housing/rental properties, get the lil bambino into school, medical care documents when visiting the emergency room, giving false information when involved in a traffic accident.

In the state of Texas, there is so much tied to your auto insurance. One cannot obtain registration on a vehicle w/o insurance. You cannot get the vehicle inspected w/o insurance. So how is it that hundreds of thousands of illegals are able to drive around in the state of Texas undetected? Answer: They get ahold of stolen stickers, forged insurance cards, apply for lic with forged birth certificates. This has been going on for decades. The list goes on and on and on. An illegal first crosses a federal boundary, then state boundaries knowing full well they've broken the law...should in all common sense add to the mountain of charges that could be levied against an illegal living in this country.

If you or I, the average Joe or Joelette six pack did these things, we'd be thrown in jail and penalized heavily.

Our country is SO broken.

Further proof that the rule of law is collapsing. Selective enforcement will only be exercised against those who challenge the right of the State to do as they please—conservatives and those who oppose the totalitarian overlords will be the targets for enforcement, not foreign criminals who invade and tear down our borders.

no licence = no insurance. Who pays when an unlicensed, uninsured illegal kills them in an accident or in hot pursuit by the police?
