That sounds like an assault occurred prior to the shooting to me.

This is exactly why I’m not rushing to any kind of judgement. The evidence needs to come out before the verdict is passed down. There’s a reason the PD hasn’t filed charges against Zimmerman.
While I won’t exclude the idea that Zimmerman might be some class of racist who just wanted to target black folks, I’ll need some kind of evidence first.
Believe it or not, Al Sharpton and Imam Farrakhan’s bombast is not, in fact, evidence.
There is a lot of truth to that. I was in the NG in Memphis for the 1978 Fireman's Strike Riots. It was ten years after the MLK Riots. The TV stores were the first to get hit. Let them riot, the NG is better trained and equipped and many of them have served in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. It won't be pretty.

From reading the reports and listening to the 911 calls this is basically what happened.
Mr. Zimmerman was coming back or heading out to do so errands when he sees a suspicious Black guy walking in his gated community. There had been some recent burglaries in the community or in a neighborhood very close by so Mr. Zimmerman thought the suspicious Black guy might be one of them. Mr. Zimmerman follows him a bit and Trayvon notices and doesn’t like it and stares at Mr. Zimmerman. Trayvon then starts walking and Mr. Zimmerman gets out and follows him by foot. All this time Mr. Zimmerman is on the phone to 911 reporting what he is seeing.
Trayvon starts running and Mr. Zimmerman loses sight of him. Mr. Zimmerman ends his call with 911. At this point Mr. Zimmerman walks back to his truck but is jumped by Trayvon. Trayvon is on top of him beating the crap out of Mr. Zimmerman while Mr. Zimmerman is yelling help as loud as he can. On one of the 911 calls you can hear him yelling over and over. No one in the neighborhood goes to help Mr. Zimmerman because they are all too scared to do so.
Mr. Zimmerman realizes no one is coming to help so he does what he has to do to protect his life which is to pull his gun. He fires on round which turns out to be fatal and Trayvon dies. Cops show up shortly and secure the scene and process it.
Zimmerman was never arrested.

Yeah, I heard the tapes and it doesn’t seem like Travon is innocent at all. You have a neighborhood watch guy, trying to do his job, screaming HELP audibly in several 911 tapes, and then a gunshot. I don’t see how or why this is racism. I also don’t see why baby pictures represent the actions of a 17 year old.

If you see this as a fabrication, you must know the real story. Let’s have it.
Mr. Zimmerman reported to 911 that he was acting suspicious. From what Mr. Zimmerman said to the 911 dispatcher when Mr. Zimmerman was still in his truck Trayvon was staring at him. Then Trayvon started walking away. That’s when Mr. Zimmerman starting folliwing him on foot. Then Trayvon ran off and disappeared.
From the sat photo of the gated it looks like Trayvon ran around one of the condo buildings and disappeared. This was all taking place about 7:00-7:17 p.m. with sunset about 7:37pm. After Mr. Zimmerman lost sight of Trayvon he ended the call with 911 and started walking back to his truck. It looks like what happened is Trayvon ran around one of the condo buildings and doubled back to the point where Mr. Zimmerman’s truck was. When Mr. Zimmerman was approaching his truck Trayvon jumped him with Mr. Zimmerman landing on the grass with Trayvon on top of him beating the crap out of Mr. Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman yelled and yelled for help but no one would come to his aid.
From listening to all of the 911 calls from witnesses they were all women and one older female girl. I guess they were the only ones home with no men around at the time and they weren’t going out to help him. Most of the made that quite clear.
Mr. Zimmer realized his life was in jeopardy and did what he could to protect himself by firing one shoot. You could hear that single shot on one of the 911 calls and all of the witness who called in said they also heard one shot.
A fabrication of what? I am just giving a summary of the police reports and 911 calls.
Well then, it would seem to be an open and shut case....so, riddle me this....why hasn’t a warrant been issued for his arrest?
From listening to the way the media has reported it I was on the side of Trayvon. After reading the police reports and listening to the 911 calls I come down squarely on the side of Mr. Zimmerman.
Mr. Zimmerman was taken by surprise by Trayvon and attacked. Mr. Zimmerman’s firing his gun in self defense was completely justified.
I hope, I just hope that the Feds and media don’t continue to fed the frenzy with their lies and distortions and end up starting a race riot over this.

Everything else, including your story, which very good and plausible, is conjecture. All we know for sure are the contents of the 911 calls. Can Zimmerman's testimony be believed? Don't make me laugh. What did you expect him to say? That he, an unemployed husband of a licensed cosmetologists, woke up in the morning determined to kill a black kid? That he pulled the trigger NOT in self-defense? We'll never know, accept it.

I could just as easily say that Martin was being stalked by a stranger in a car while on the way home (true). He ran away and lost the guy (true). After a minute he started home again only to be confronted by the guy who was now looking for him on foot and who had a gun.
The stalking stranger with the gun accosted him. Martin defended himself and over-powered the stranger with the gun who had followed and stalked him.

It was a gated community. Did the kid live there? If not, then he was illegal right off the bat and would be obviously out of place to a community watcher. I guess you never heard of Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s comments that you are welcome to your own opinion but not your own set of facts.
BTW, this “simple black kid” was 200 pounds and 6’3” tall.
The bottom line is that the police see no reason to arrest Zimmerman.

Why do you say assault? Zimmerman says assault - is that evidence?
His story about getting out of the car to look at a street sign, in a small neighborhood he’d lived in for years, patrolled for years, is that believable?
I remembered that when I read that Obama top associate Van Jones said that "2012 will be a turbulent, exciting year. It's important for us to get together and get ready."
