Santorum Suggests Obama Preferable to "Etch-A-Sketch" Romney.

Rick Santorum's latest attempt to use a Mitt Romney aide's "Etch-A-Sketch" remark against the Republican front-runner instead gave his rival a chance to fire back on Thursday, after Santorum seemed to say he'd rather see President Obama reelected than send Romney to the White House.

Speaking at an event in Texas, Santorum again made the case that Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom's comments Wednesday on CNN about a "reset" of the campaign if Romney clinched the nomination showed the former Massachusetts governor's efforts to appeal to conservatives were insincere.

"You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there," Santorum told a crowd in San Antonio, according to NBC News. "If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch-A-Sketch candidate of the future."

I agree with dfwgator 100 percent. He is right. From the beginning we have been saying “No to Romney”. I am not going to change my principles and vote for that creep. It is not our fault that the GOPe wants him to be the nominee. They can have him. I am writing in Santorum, Palin, Cain, or Bachmann. I have not decided which yet, but I will before November.

This is the Dean’s Scream equivalent that we were anticipating from Rick. It was one reason that we wanted Newt to stay in the race. Thank god he did. Another candidate is needed, however, fast.

S.A.R.A.H.

And, also, Newt has said he is relying on Obama's miserable records, and events... I would consider this a bit of an event for Newt supporters.

And we just started our new outreach to Santorum supporters yesterday...

GO BACK TO NEWT AND STAY THERE!!

True. People may be sick enough of obama in the fall that my cat could win against him. But our best choice would be to have a clear conservative alternative to obama

Take that back?

I wasn't aware that Rick could scrub every Website, every Server, every Hard Drive, every Human memory and “take that back”.

The Cat is out of the bag, along with Rick's other silly comments, out of context or not.

Media Matters is having a great day along with Obama. And to think, Obama’s Reelection Campaign hasn't spent a red penny yet, except for Nail Polish of course.

“Scott Walker should be ready by then. Which is why it is so important that he prevails in Wisconsin.”

If there is any Republican, anywhere, who has demonstrated that he has “the stuff” for the Oval Office, it’s Governor Walker.

No other Republican in D.C. is close. Name one.

Hopefully we are all more loyal to our God than our country, but how is that a bad thing?
I don’t have a problem with being loyal to God, except I’m afraid that Obama is being loyal to the Muslim god.

- - - —
But his loyalty isn’t to his god, it is to his CHURCH.

I put God before Country, but I would never put an organization or church first. Mormons do.

And Mitt doesn’t worship the same God as Christians do.

Concur; Santorum is out of his league. It is an anomaly he is still in the race. Santorum does not seem presidential,

This is a clear unbiased statement about reality. You will now be smeared by the santorum clique as a "romney-bot." They don't understand that normal adults can see reality without necessarily liking it.

If Santorum wasn’t a Conservative during his tenure, there never were any Conservative Senators ever.

I can't....I just hope Walker doesn't go wobbly on us. He just can't count on the rest of the GOP to have his back, however.

If he said that...he isn’t worth a tinker’s dam. His investment in the presidency is more for his own vanity than for the good of the nation.

"But some of you think Romney is better than Obama"

Romney sucks.

But he's better than Obama, by a great degree.

Pull your head out of your ass and vote the GOP candidate, whomever it may be, in November.

Or find yourself in a concentration camp...or worse.

“As long as there was any chance that anyone but Romney could possibly go up against Obama, I supported anyone but Romney. But anything, even Romney, is better than Obama in my opinion. I don’t know how anyone could let Obama win by not voting for the Republican nominee. I mean, I hate Romney, but Romney did go through the process and he is going to be the nominee. The alternative is much, much worse. And Conservatives that can let Obama waltz back into the White House, I almost understand them, but I can’t really understand them.”

I agree completely. Santorum is unhinged. He needs to get out, and take Newt with him. At this point, they’re simply weakening Romney and, much as I dislike HIM, I DO NOT WANT TO SEE OBAMA WIN. **THAT** would be catastrophic. Whatever else he is or isn’t, I don’t think Romney is out to destroy the country the way Obama is, and there’s some hope the right can push him into line. Certainly, whoever he would nominate for the Supreme Court would be better than whatever gutter-dwelling loser Obama might come up with.

At a certain point, you have to just say.. “Okay. The elites won. What do I do NOW...?!” and the right answer is “do whatever you CAN to defeat that disaster of a President who’s in office right now.”

The other thing that happened today, is DeMint semi-endorsed romney, and maybe Demint will feel like his conservative bona fides are on the line, and help keep Mitt's feet to the fire, IF he turns out to be the nominee. I fully expect Newt to be... he's going to tampa to make a mess of things for the elites... I plan to be there to see it up close...

Don’t worry. After he wins Louisiana tomorrow, this will all be forgotten and on to the next Primary.

I hate to inform you people, but Santorum has a point. . .

_________________________________________________________

Santorum does not have a point, his comment was over the top stupid. He is running in a “Republican” primary. It is about Republicans”. If he were a Libertarian saying he would vote for Obama before Romney I would say OK but so far the majority of the Republican Party has voted for Romney and he is the likely nominee. To be running for the head of a party and say you will vote for someone in another party is just stupidity. He'll be luck to win LA now. What a way to win friends.

I’m with you. I think a lot of people will be writting in a candidate if romney wins. Someone will run third party I bet.
