Santorum Suggests Obama Preferable to "Etch-A-Sketch" Romney.

Rick Santorum's latest attempt to use a Mitt Romney aide's "Etch-A-Sketch" remark against the Republican front-runner instead gave his rival a chance to fire back on Thursday, after Santorum seemed to say he'd rather see President Obama reelected than send Romney to the White House.

Speaking at an event in Texas, Santorum again made the case that Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom's comments Wednesday on CNN about a "reset" of the campaign if Romney clinched the nomination showed the former Massachusetts governor's efforts to appeal to conservatives were insincere.

"You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there," Santorum told a crowd in San Antonio, according to NBC News. "If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch-A-Sketch candidate of the future."

“If he does not get this nomination, he is next in line.”

That comment alone IF TRUE proves he is part of the GOP-e and will take one for the team.

I thought the GOP-e was who we were trying to get rid of.

"The system stinks but at least next round we will have an even better Rick Santorum."

Likely, but he'll have to back out soon to get the E endorsement.

Otherwise he'd have to be a real conservative like Reagan...and he's NOT.

He's a true believer in the power of the state. There's no arguing that.

Nope. This site has already announced absolutely no support or positive discussion about Romney. You are on a thin line of getting the zot if you don’t stop your obsession with wanting Romney as our President. It is over. The GOPe has chosen again and I won’t support them this time. I am 100 percent serious.

Any reasoning conservative agrees with you and understands that a conservative republican-controlled Congress is essential, regardless of who wins the White House.

That is the way to end run the establishment GOP, and to render Romney's lack of moral compass benign.

He won't veto conservative laws if we can get them to his desk. Why would he? Like Bush, he appears to have no ideological ax to grind. When in liberal Taxachusetts he was a liberal. If elected with a conservative Congress, he'll be a conservative. No big deal to him either way. That can cut in our favor if we do our jobs with the Congress. What's so hard about that?

the anti-Santorum contingent of the GOP is now larger than the anti-Romney contingent.

Damn right!!! And, you can now count me in that anti-Santorum contingent.

Well that MIGHT change my mind, but it didn’t do much good for McCain. I don’t think that would work either. Romney will lose to Obama. I am almost 100 percent sure of it. My last post to you is sarcastic.

That was before santorum gave Obama an endorsement tonight.
Can you say damage-people will be offended as well.

“I want someone who can put some wings on the car before it goes over the cliff. Crazy times, but I just don’t see a solution with Mitt.”

To quote a well-known Democrat pipe-layer, IT’S THE ECONOMY, STUPID

When you take an HONEST look at what Romney has accomplished, he’s strong on economics, and has the moral background to do things RIGHT. He has the money, resources, and the connections to pull this off.

My biggest fear, and primary reason for supporting NEWT with both money and time, has been that it’s going to take a REAL SONOFABITCH to both do what needs to be done to overcome the Obama/Gay Media propaganda complex, and to do the hard things it’s going to take to put this country back on the path to prosperity.

Romney hasn’t proven to me he has the stainless steel cajones that are going to be required to stand up against the queer/media/Democrat complex. (Though he has shown brief hints of growing a pair in recent days.)

Winston Churchill was the right man, at the right time, for the crisis his people faced. Newt could be, too.

You fail to realize that the anti-Santorum contingent of the GOP is now larger than the anti-Romney contingent.

Based on what logic?

Everyone says the same thing here, but then when Santorum says it, it’s terrible.

You have to take this one back. Neither I nor hundreds of others have ever said anything remotely like the Santorum statement. As far as I can discern, the only ones who have are --gasp--already members of the Santorum clique.

How would you limit Romney? As president he is the head of the party....who would oppose his leftist platform? The Democrats will push him further to the left and the Republicans will pass what the president pushes...just look at free meds for the old folks bush passed or no child left behind.

“Give us another chance to get this thing right.”

That is our prayers. Course the Delegates could get real stupid in Tampa. The RNC will be promising them the world on a silver plater.

Well, nobody’s accusing them of being the “brightest bulb” in the pack. So, they may well be slow in learning the lesson that we’re tired of having the establishment’s choice crammed down our throats. But, speaking for myself, I’m tired of being used. No more!

If the establishment wants to continue to lose elections, just keep sending up wishy washy moderates to get their heads handed to them. After all, that plan has worked so well in the past. (Dole, McCain...Romney would fit right in with that pair.)

I thought the GOP-e was who we were trying to get rid of.

Well we certainly are failing badly and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Look at who is going to be our nominee? We had a great 2010 because we put the Tea Party front and center. 2 little years later and we have another GOPe candidate. I don’t know if it is possible to beat the GOPe quite frankly (at least in a Presidential primary).

"This site has already announced absolutely no support or positive discussion about Romney. You are on a thin line of getting the zot if you don’t stop your obsession with wanting Romney as our President."

Naps.

I have clearly stated that I would vote for Romney over the idiot Santorum.

I believe Santorum would absolutely ascertain the re-election of Obama.

And YES, I would openly advocate for Romney over Santorum in all and every case.

But for now I advocate for Gingrich/Palin and AGAINST Santorum.

That's because I believe Santorum is a malicious idiot.

So, take your oblique threats to somebody who gives a sh!t.

Agree, Santos really is a terrible public speaker, I know what he meant, but he did not clearly clarify his position. I agree that the GOP must have a candidate that motivates the voters to go with the GOP choice instead of Obama..Romney will not do that.
