Suit Alleges Financial Fraud At TBN Ministry
By Christopher Goffard March 23, 2012
The Trinity Broadcasting Network, which bills itself as the world's largest Christian network, is embroiled in a legal battle involving allegations of massive financial fraud and lavish spending, including the purchase of a $100,000 motor home for family dogs.
Brittany Koper, a former high-ranking TBN official and the granddaughter of its co-founder, Paul Crouch Sr., was fired by the network in September after discovering "illegal financial schemes" amounting to tens of millions of dollars, according to a lawsuit filed in Orange County Superior Court.
"She blew the whistle and got terminated," said attorney Tymothy MacLeod, who filed the suit on behalf of Joseph McVeigh, the uncle of Koper's husband, Michael Koper, who was himself a high-ranking TBN officer.
(snip) The legal battle offers a rare glimpse into the private affairs of TBN, which is headquartered in an opulent compound near South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.
McVeigh's lawsuit alleges that Brittany Koper was promoted to the position of TBN's finance director in July because the network directors needed someone "within the family" to keep its financial "skeletons" hidden.
The lawsuit alleges that Paul Crouch Sr. obtained a $50-million Global Express luxury jet for his personal use through a "sham loan," and that TBN funds paid for a $100,000 motor home for dogs owned by his wife, Janice Crouch, a network director.
The suit also alleges that TBN bought residences across the country for its directors under the pretext that they were "guest homes" or "church parsonages." The properties include mansions used by the Crouch family in Newport Beach; side-by-side mansions in Windermere, Fla.; and homes in Nashville; Miami; and Irving, Texas, according to the suit.

Whenever I am exposed to any TV minister, I am reminded of this:
Philippians 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Philippians 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
WHat is it with televangelists and ridiculous expenses for their dogs?
Steelfish I read original OC register story boy they really living on the hog in original documents that I read in OC Register BOY!!!!
I have good reasons why I only give to the Salvation Army, that video is just hints at the tip of the iceberg of most televangelists.
Little known fact...
Paul Crouch Sr. (the homosexual) and his wife Janice Crouch have not lived together for years.
I’m shocked, just shocked!
And does anyone know Crouch Snr’s partner? Why all all televangelists crooks and thieves who end up enriching themselves and their families?
whatever takes the focus of the fact that trillions of taxpayer dollars are being used in fraudulent schemes by our own govt....
I just want to know why that woman has pink hair.
My sister use to pledge monthly payments to the 700 Club. When she fell into hard times and stopped sending payments they hounded her like a credit cart company would have done, and compounding the months missed into an amount she owed. Just amazing.
“The bigger the hair.....the closer to God.” *snort*
It well known fact in SO CAL that Paul and Jan may not live together also secretly divorce or separate for almost 30 years now
I been hearing rumors that Jan live in Texas or FLA for years now while Paul Sr live in OC
“Why all all televangelists crooks and thieves who end up enriching themselves and their families?”
It’s a Southern Killer Queen thing. They love to indulge themselves. That’s why they are so fastidious.
LOL great video / song. How very true for most (not all) TV evangelists. Have NEVER sent one dime to these phonies. Most are so obvious, I can’t believe people fall for it. I am a “born again” (is there any other kind?) Christian.
I knew TBN was a fraud when I saw Mrs. Crouch for the first time and the tacky buildings and sets.
One of my friends used to donate to Jan and Paul. They had two ministries. One was an international help fund, the other was a “Christian Disneyland”. One day he got letters from both “ministries”. The theme park letter was glowing about how well the project was going and could you continue to help. The helps ministry, on the other hand, was desperate for funds. He looked at both letters, side by side, trashed ‘em and never gave another cent.
I give to my church and locally. Period. Why walk past ten people in need that you may even know to give to someone in another state or country that you don’t know, and through people you don’t know.
It’s poor stewardship.
The make Jim and Tammy Faye look like petty crooks.
In this book was a picture, that I, as an amateur photographer immediately identified as a picture taken both with flash and high ambient light, and the camera being moved substantially during part of the exposure and freezing mostly in place during part of the exposure. It is why you see the artifacts above the speaker (caused by a spot of direct sunlight hitting the wall as well as the dark line next to it)
Here is the picture:
And here is the caption where he lied (lie bolded).
"This photograph was taken of Hal Lindsey while speaking in the upper room concerning the initial coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-40). Don Mollenberg snapped this photo at the moment Hal was explaining the Holy Spirit's appearance in the form of "tongues of fire." Several amazing details appear in the picture. First, the obvious tongue of fire arching up and over Hal's head. Second, the bright light in the form of an angel by the totally boarded-up window. Third, behind the tongue of fire is a figure like a hand holding a cross. Many experts examined the 35mm camera, the negative, and the print, but were unable to explain the phenomena logically."
His lie didn't shake my faith however. My faith is in the Lord, not Hal.
“Little known fact...

I don’t think I could live with a woman who has pink hair...let alone one that weeps at the drop of hat
The pink hair and the faux oppulence of the set designs begin to point to ambiguity, divided minds and cross purposes between faith and m-o-n-e-y, as the tension in the stewardship effort.
While any and all Christian forms of media and internet communications are coming under a grand attack, it’s woe to the ones who are actually bad apples. There are so many innocent others who get the same blame.
TBN played a role for awhile with me though I never considered them a destination for my cash. I attribute to a TBN guest, a “Messianic Jew” for launching me onto a research study of Church history, the Early Fathers of the Church, and the practices and beliefs held in the early fledgling, suffering Church. It was all there, alright.
Naturally, I wound up Catholic! :)
Since entering menopause, I have terrible insomnia sometimes and often turn on the TV in the middle of the night.
Very early one Sunday morning about 4 AM, I turned on the TV and there was nothing on but infomercials and televangelists (I have only basic cable). So I started toggling in rapid succession between the infomercials for various diet and exercise programs and skin care products, magic bras, make quick money in real estate etc., and all the televangelists selling miracle spring water and pitching how God will bring you riches if you sow a seed by sending them money.
I noticed there was no really no difference in all the various pitches. I was all the same format and all about how to separate gullible fools from their money.
Well, I’m not Catholic, but I’m glad for you that the Messianic Jew you saw on TBN helped you find the right path to Christianity. (Did that sound New Agey? I did NOT mean for it to be)!
I don’t know, the pink hair thing has always been inexplicable for me, the few times I’ve had that channel on. Inexplicable, and disturbing, LOL.
Naturally “Catholic” is right. Can’t have 32,000 different versions of Christianity. One Church, One God, One Creed, One Path of Destiny.
Robert Tilton aka: Smilin’ Bob.
Success in Life was the name of his television show and his church was located in Carrollton, Texas. He was shown to be a complete fraud by a local TV reporter based on his multiple homes and lavish lifestyle.
One of my greatest joys used to be going to Ben’s Half Yard House on Greenville Avenue in Dallas (which is sadly no longer around) to watch the Cowboy games on Sunday afternoons with several friends. In between the plays, if the bartender was in a decent mood and the ‘Boys were winning, he would filp the station over to the VCR (yes this was several years before Youtube and the internet) and he would play a minute or two of the good reverend praising God with the flatulence he spewed from both ends of his body. Good times.
Thank you. I am a proud convert. I was a devoted Protestant at the time.
Use to watch plenty of TBN but always felt a little sorry for Jan. Something odd there. Lots of money came to TBN. A shame for such corrupt spending. It’s insidious now, as the enemy is into even good things.
Very true. I agree that there’s something wrong where she’s concerned, and I don’t say that flippantly.
Bottom line, if you look at this kind of thing and it doesn’t feel right, trust that feeling. The Holy Spirit is blessing you with discernment.

as a Catholic, I warn there are anti-Catholic musings in there but relatively minor.
Site appears to be largely ex-Pentecostal “Heresy Hunters”.
