Is Mitt Romney an Etch a Sketch?

No way, say Romney’s aides. They insist that when Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom went on CNN Wednesday morning and compared the campaign to an Etch a Sketch, he was talking strictly about the mechanics of general elections, not about Romney’s malleability. But before you buy that explanation, look at what Fehrnstrom has said in previous years. He’s been erasing his candidates’ positions for a long time.

In 1994, Romney ran for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts. He had been a pro-life abortion counselor in the Mormon Church, but a private campaign poll warned him that he’d lose the election unless he ran as a pro-choicer. And that’s exactly what he did.

At the time, Eric Fehrnstrom was the spokesman for Massachusetts Treasurer Joe Malone. Malone, a longtime pro-lifer, had just received the endorsement of a pro-life group in his bid for re-election. But in June 1994, Fehrnstrom announced that Malone, facing a difficult challenge from a pro-choice opponent, had changed his position.

The #EtchaSketch Candidate’s campaign is having a tough time back peddling and fast peddling, all at once. Fun to watch, tho :)

To prove your point, here is a video of Romney calling himself a RINO. Rick is spot on with his comment.

Maybe we should offer Hillary Clinton the GOP nomination. She is a much more effective campaigner than the Mittwit and when she takes a position she tends not to etch-a-sketch later. If she were elected the results would be just as bad but at least she is honest.

OTOH, if we figure that "moderation" (i.e. social revolutionary beliefs and action) is a political winner AND that real world business experience is an important qualification, Romney is a minor leaguer on business experience compared to George Soros. Whoops, Georgie is not a natural born citizen. How about Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, both much more distinguished businessmen and as accomplished supporters of the mass murder of babies as Margaret Sanger herself. Why settle for an inferior like Romney when you can nominate the first string?

If we cross-endorse Obozo, he is a sure winner for those who seek victory however hollow and meaningless. Muffy and Skipper down at the polo club would be ecstatic.

Maybe, if we were willing to nominate Charles Manson, Obozo would pardon him to make him eligible and available. John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy. Jeffrey Dahlmer and Richard Speck are no longer available, we better nominate Manson before it is loo late. Would he promise credibly to protect Muffy's and Skipper's trust funds in exchange for becoming commander in chief? Bernie Madoff for Secretary of the Treasury. Dennis Cuckoocinich for Secretary of "Peace." Janet Waco in a return engagement as AG. Secretary of State Cindy Sheehan. David Duke as Secretary of Ethnic Cleansing. Ron Paul as Secretary of Fantasy. The possibilities are endless. All we right wingers have to do is loosen up a bit. Not be sooooo judgmental.

If we settle for Myth Etch-a-Sketch Romney, we get a Margaret Sanger/Attila the Hun Memorial on the National Mall, but is that really enough?
