President Obama’s remarks today about the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin drew scowls from GOP presidential contender New Gingrich, who called them “disgraceful” and divisive.
“What the president said in a sense is disgraceful. It’s not a question of who that young man looked like,” Gingrich said on Sean Hannity’s radio show.
President Obama today offered a personal reflection on the tragic shooting the Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, saying the incident requires all Americans to “do some soul searching.”
“When I think about this boy, I think about my own kids,” Obama told reporters....
Gingrich said on the radio show: ”Any young American of any ethnic background should be safe period. We should all be horrified no matter what the ethnic background. Is the president suggesting that if it had been a white who had been shot that would be ok because it didn’t look like him?”
He went added that it’s “just nonsense dividing this country up. It is a tragedy this young man was shot. It would have been a tragedy if he had been Puerto Rican or Cuban or if he had been white or if he had been Asian American of if he’d been a Native American. At some point we ought to talk about being Americans. When things go wrong to an American. It is sad for all Americans.”
Gingrich, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, said: “Trying to turn it into a racial issue is fundamentally wrong. I really find it appalling.”

Well, we kinda do. 26 yr old college student, wants to get a job as a cop, on neighborhood watch duty, follows a tough hombre wearing a hoodie, gets his butt whipped, is on the ground getting beaten severely about the head and shoulders, shoots the guy, politicians seize the moment.

Not only the race card, but the “I” card. Obama thinks it’s all about him. “I” is the first word that pops into his tiny mind.
“The police told him to stop following.”
I heard some of the 911 tapes today (2 calls from Zimmerman about this one incident). In the second call, the 911 operator states “we don’t need you to do that” when Zimmerman responded to the operator that yes he was indeed following Martin. I never heard that they told him directly not to follow him, just that they didn’t need him to follow. This was not the police, nor was he specifically told not to follow. If you have direct linkage to a reputable source that states otherwise, I’d like to read/hear it.

Hey BO how about discussing the Wichita massacre of 5,dare we say, white teenagers by two black thugs whose crime spree victims were always white. Most Americans have never heard of this crime because on MSM’s lack of coverage.
He told the operator “they always get away” and that Martin was eluding/running once he (Martin) noticed that Zimmerman was on the phone. I don’t know what I personally would do, but a statement like the operator gave is not an order that has to be followed - even if they directly told him not to.
Sometimes the police appreciate the help, other times they ask that you not follow or make chase because it can be a danger. Tough call, but it sounds like crime in the neighborhood was up and that increase in crime was driven mainly by one demographic if I’ve read the stories correctly.
Just because the amount of calls Zimmerman made were (seemingly) disproportionately about blacks doesn’t mean his intentions were racist. That fact may just point to the truth about who was committing crimes in the neighborhood - no matter how uncomfortable that truth might be for some to accept.
That's what the leader of this nation should have said.
But he has wanted and still wants race out there to rile up his black voters so they'll remain with him...which many aren't any longer. He knows how to push their "emotional" buttons.....so does Sharpton and Jesse....and that's the plan.
Our guys should not take their bait....and stick to the economy etc.

Christie....the media is foremost in pushing this...it sells airtime and they are fanning the flames first and foremost.....secondly the media is in full Obama campaign mode and anything they can create a story from to divert and distract the public they are going to do.
Obama’s been loosing the black vote....if he can stir them up and become their “savior” once more he has to create a situation where they need one.
It’s no secret Sharpton, Jackson and Farrachan were moe than happy to add fuel to Obamas agenda....and the media equally as happy to give these characters the face time they love.
So it’s ALL Media “Drama” to sell airtime and keep the public engaged....while they make Obama the hero of the hour....not to mention the political posturing of any candidate who will take the bait.
Santorum really blew it though...that’s his self-righteous ego standing tall and making the calls before the evidence is even determined.....plus by doing so he’s offended the Hispanic community....and the police and investigators working the case.....what an idiot!
Newt on the other hand handled this like the statesman he is....and beautifuly delivered as well..he spoke to ALL the people.

Makes me wonder if there were any recent polls that suggested he was falling in support among blacks. He’s totally counting on them to carry him in the election, if he allows there to be one.
But I think he also wants Latino voters so pitting the two demographics against each other isn’t the smartest thing to do - unless your goal is to create hatred and divisions and not just to get votes.
It's my understanding he did....what took place after and before the police arrived is what's in question. And I have no reason to not believe Zimmermans story as we know it currently, and that by the evidence that's been revealed.
the liberal Obama media only covers crimes that they feel they can make into a political issue. What happened here isn’t even a political issue, but of course the left sees it that way..actually they don’t, but they love milking stuff that they feel they can use so that a race war can happen and thus, no November elections. Don’t let the BS polls from the media fool you, Obama CAN lose in November, which terrifies the left, they have to stop the elections from happening
