In Trayvon Martin shooting, background of George Zimmerman can confound, confuse (expelled from CC)
Tampa Bay - St. Petersburg Times ^ | March 24, 2012

..."[George] Zimmerman's life was not without difficulties. In 2001, when he was 17 or 18, he was the victim of a minor criminal assault, said Manassas police Sgt. Eddie Rivera. The city's computer records do not provide details of the crime.

In school, Zimmerman hinted at ambitions in the business world. He joined a Future Business Leaders of America club. And in his senior yearbook, he wrote: "I'm going to Florida to work with my godfather who just bought a $1 million business."

In Sanford, Zimmerman shifted his plans, with hopes of becoming a law enforcement officer. NPR reported that he had taken a 14-week class at the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, and he was enrolled at Seminole State College until the school kicked him out this week, citing safety concerns.

He became the self-appointed protector of the streets around his home, although his neighborhood watch organization was not officially registered. Over the past eight years, he called the Police Department at least 46 times with reports of various sightings. In 2005, according to police records obtained by the Orlando Sentinel and other media, Zimmerman was twice accused of either criminal misconduct or violence. He had a concealed-weapon permit and had a black Kel-Tec semiautomatic handgun and a holster the night Martin died.....

“Tray-von’s dad totally looks like Ray Nagin.”

Wow, for sure.

There are plenty of things for Obama to be concerned about, especially what you mentioned AND—

The commanding officer of Camp Pendleton said Thursday he is displeased at “incorrect and deeply hurtful” comments made about a Marine sergeant fatally shot by an Orange County sheriff’s deputy.

A suspected child rapist is on the loose and in a statement obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement accepts responsibility for releasing him.

The man is identified by ICE as Amado Espinoza-Ramirez. Chicago police arrested him last August, and he was ultimately charged with forty-two counts of predatory sexual acts.

I stll WANT to know why “little travone” had been suspended from school. My guess is assault. Not many kids get suspended for minor issues anymore.

ARLINGTON — Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Friday that the “stand your ground” self-defense law he signed while in office should not apply to the case of a teenager who was killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer in his home state. “This law does not apply to this particular circumstance,” Bush said after an education panel discussion at the University of Texas at Arlington. “Stand your ground means stand your ground. It doesn’t mean chase after somebody who’s turned their back.” Read more: http://nation.foxnews.com/jeb-bush/2012/03/24/jeb-bush-says-stand-your-ground-invalid-trayvon-martin-case#ixzz1q4NPO5sB

Thanks for your reasonable post. The Internet is exploding, false information is being spread, insults fly.

There is no witness report that Martin initiated the physical encounter. None. There is a report from a man named John of seeing the two of them on the ground. Martin was suspended from school for tardiness not violence. Zimmerman has a police record not for tardiness but for violence. The incident took place not at night but at 7PM, when sun was still over the horizon. Zimmerman made 46 911 calls in the past year not in the past several years, a couple each month, not a unreasonable number. His effectiveness as a self-appointed community protector? 40 burglaries in the past year (correct my arithmetic if you know better, that’s what I remember reading) and now the death of an innocent man who was not a stranger in the neighbourhood having visited it before, if not before that day, then earlier that day before he walked to the convenience store.

An experienced policeman would have initiated a conversation with the suspect instead of stalking him. A short fat Latino man with an earring stalking me on the street, I would have assumed based on my experience that he was a fag, and I wonder if that is what Martin assumed.

As I said, insults fly everywhere. Have you been called a Communist yet? I have. Have you been called a race hustler, a troll from DU, idiot, moron? Have you been generously offered free advice to seek spiritual and psychiatric help?

Your post is full of inaccuracies that have been fully disproven in multiple threads.

Please post the Florida statute that was violated by Zimmerman, and the evidence released to the public that supports probable cause Zimmerman violated that statute.

Otherwise, admit you are just a kneejerk emotional reactionary with no basis in fact for your assertions.

“tardiness”

Thanks for that info. Now, I can hardly wait to hear what the eyewitness has to say. I wonder if it will be enough to stop the race haters/baiters from continuing the lynchmob mentality at the hands of their black slavemasters, Jackson, Sharpton and the black panthers. God forbid that something like facts might come out before jumping to conclusions. Remember towanna brawley and the Duke Lacrosse fiascos?
