Former Vice President Dick Cheney received a heart transplant on Saturday, his office announced.

A statement from the former vice president's office said Cheney is now recovering in the Intensive Care Unit of Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., outside of Washington.

Reminds me of Ronald Reagan’s line as he was being put under for surgery after the Hinckley assassination attempt:
“I hope all of you are Republicans”.

And the little known response from the chief surgeon (who happened to be a Democrat) was "we are today, Mr. President."

Can anyone imagine how the sterling years of the Reagan Administration could have been improved had Dick Cheney been working for the Gipper in the capacity of VP?

It will be interesting to see if anyone on the left offers any kind of wishes for a full recovery (I won't hold me breath.) Most likely, they'll spin this situation as an argument in favor of Obamacare.

Great great news! My husband received a heart transplant 20 months ago. We always felt a comraderie with the Cheney family, because their heart issues mirrored each other. We pray for a full and complete recovery. The six months after transplant is “interesting” but after that it is nothing but net! Prayers to the donor family.

They can’t spin it in favor of Obamacare because in reality if Obamacare were in effect right now Cheney would already be dead. They would never have given a man of his age a new heart. This is why in Obamacare they have “Death Panels” to prevent the elderly from being able to get the treatment they need to live longer
