Naming himself to the Senate is one thing that Scott almost certainly couldn’t do (not that there’s a SCOTUS case on point or anything). Scott could resign and have new Governor Carroll appoint, him, though, and perhaps he could travel out of state and have Carroll, as Acting Governor, appoint him.
But why would Scott want to get himself appointed to the Senate (the track record for governors who have done that is not good) and then have to face the voters in both 2014 and 2016 instead of just running for reelection as governor in 2014?
I just threw it out there is all.
The idea of Allan West is very exciting IMO.
