Santorum Pronounces Zimmerman Guilty Before Trial, or Charge
Big Government ^ | March 25, 2012 | Joel B. Pollak

Republican presidential contender Sen. Rick Santorum appeared on CBS' Face the Nation this morning and pronounced George Zimmerman guilty of murder in the first degree.

Admitting that he was "not privy to what’s going on in someone’s mind," Santorum nevertheless said that Zimmerman, who shot and killed teenager Trayvon Martin while participating in a neighborhood watch last month, "has a very sick mind who would pursue someone like this." He added that Zimmerman's motive had been "malicious."

The mental state of the alleged perpetrator, the motive, and the question of whether he pursued the alleged victim, are both critical in determining guilt. Santorum's conclusions are consistent with first-degree murder under Florida law....

Seriously now, the difference between Romney and Obama is as clear as the difference between Trotsy and Stalin.

And for the same reasons, and therein lies the problem.

I watched the interview and he was going by what information he had at the moment and lets face it, it didn't look good for Mr Zimmerman—but the story is still developing.

But regardless, I am amazed at how fast the Romney people have grabbed this story and disingenuously hyped it into a major Santorum smear campaign.

Read my tag line cuz it is the facts on the ground the real realpolitik and Mitt has many covert operatives here disguised as Newt people (if Gingrich had a snowball's chance I could understand the attacks) you can tell them by the mean-spirited glee when they hate on Rick.

Santorum’s idiocy is beyond belief. It would have been SO easy to say, lets wait till all the evidence is in, or lets wait till the trial before making a judgement. He is definitley not ready to be Prez.... he is not even ready for dog catcher yet.

Maybe we need a brokered convention and forget primary season.

I've already forgotten the primary. Center-right voters have shown me that they haven't learned a damn thing from being ground under Comrade Obama's boot heel.

Like you, I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe a brokered convention will somehow produce a worthy candidate. If not, I'm writing in Sarah Palin and telling the world to FOAD.

I supported Santorum in the Iowa caucuses, just because he had the fewest negatives. I’ve always thought it is a gamble for conservatives to support a staunch Roman Catholic. No telling when Christian compassion will express itself completely inappropriately. Just say I’m disappointed and angry about Santo conviction of Zimmerman, but not surprised. At least it’s before he’s the nominee.

Interesting that a killing like this could show the divisions among Republican voters.

Tells us a lot about you.

So it’s everyone elses fault that Santorum can’t keep his pie-hole shut? Wasn’t he a lawyer? Shouldn’t he know better?

Newt said we all had to wait and let the investigation proceed. Newt Never said that Zimmerman was guilty before his rights were even given to him. Big difference.

You need to unlock your lips from Santorum's butt just long enough to see how utterly stupid that comment from Santorum was.

And if you keep your head up for a little while longer, I'm sure Santorum will come up with another inane remark about something he knows nothing about.

I watched the interview and he was going by what information he had at the moment...

No adult who is worthy to be president would jump to the conclusion that Santorum did. Much less, on national television. The man does not have the judgment required to handle the biggest job on earth.

Neither does Obama, but that's beside the point. We need a real leader in the White House again, and Santo ain't it. Not even close.

right track, wrong track, who gives a damn? All Rick did was give his OPINION, which last I checked was a 1st Amendment Right. Nothing he said today will have any bearing on what or how the Sanford Police Department conducts their investigation. It will be according to pre-established rules. Since Rick is not a resident of FL, he has 0% chance of sitting on the jury and wouldn’t be selected anyway.

Look at the Casey Anthony case. Grounded and Pounded for years by Nancy Grace, yet the jury acquitted her. People’s OPINIONS have no bearing, but there is no rule that says there can’t be a court of public opinion.

People here are just being stupid because they have an agenda to push Newt and bash Rick for whatever and whenver. Rick didn’t play the race card like some want to pretend he comments implied. He focused on the mental history of Zimmerman that has been reported as a guy who’s had a history with police and watching too many CSI/COPS drama shows.

It isn’t working. The REAL people that are voting for Rick still support him, and we represent a whole lot of more people than the Newt ankle-biters. Rick will finish no worse than 2nd in WI and MD, well ahead of Newt. So the only logical explanation for continuing to bash Rick is to prop up Romney.

Also find it interesting there were no witnesses to Zimmerman chasing Martin down the street, except the ones on the internet who claim Zimmerman is a lying racist.

And Newt declared that Zimmerman had stepped outside the law.

I’ve gotta agree with you. Rick Perry may get tongue-tied and slip gears once in a while, but his mind and heart are (mostly) in the right place.

Some of Santorum’s recent statements show that he’s a different animal altogether. He’s not slipping gears. This is who he is.

Personal opinions aren’t admissible evidence in a court of law. Neither is hearsay.

-- At the end of the day, Santorum's popularity with the voters will STILL exceed that of Newt. --

The best help Santorum supporters can provide their candidate is to alert him that his conclusions are premature; and that it would benefit him to notice that fact, and back down from them.

Digging in and justifying making conclusions on bad and/or incomplete information is a sign of immaturity.

So... if the Black Panthers begin patrolling areas of Florida and provoking confrontations with unarmed people... any resistance can be met with deadly force in the name of self-defense?

Zimmerman needs to be arrested.
