Whenever I’m close to the Grand Canyon, my GF and I just sit there at 5 am and wait for the sunrise to hit the mountains.

It's a thing of incredible beauty. I brought my mom for a stay on the grounds there for her first visit. She was thrilled at 75 to see and experience it.

All that plus you stand a pretty good chance of survival...

My uncle started that tradition. He was a long haul trucker for many years and if he’s on the NV, CO borders and within range, he would do it. Park his rig, with his coffee and have his breakfast while the sun peaked slowly over the range.

I don’t know about you, but everyone was quiet when the sun hits your face. Everyone knew to shut up and enjoy the feeling of being alive..(even my talkative GF)
