I originally watched it 2x and then the subsequent TV report, but still can’t get a better angle on the 2 girls’ legs/feet getting tangled-up. There were also black girl/girls falling during prior play, but that’s just the nature of that soccer/rugby scrimmage, I guess. I played HS football that had physical action 10,000,000x worse than that. If one of them can’t stand the heat, get them the hell out of the kitchen. It ruins things for everyone.
The black girl’s violence was totally uncalled for, IMO. She should be banned from all sports; legal action is probably not going to go anywhere on a minor/minority, but I hope her parent(s) take her to task for it. The probability is that they won’t.
In this case, there is a slight brushing of calf and foot while the White girl maintains and does not alter stride. The Black girl cannot recover control of her foot direction quickly enough to prevent tripping herself.
It is important to note the White girl did not alter stride, indicating the contact was accidental and she did not direct her leg in a manner to deliberately interfere with the Black girl's foot.
The reaction of the Black girl shows prejudice in her evaluation of the White girl and her motivation in the game, in addition to simple unprovoked assault. and battery.
Banning from sports, criminal conviction, a period of incarceration, expulsion from school, and mandatory anger management and racial sensitivity counseling should be required.
