Polls: Obama leads Romney by double digits nationally
Hotair ^ | 03/28/2012 | Tina Korbe

The outlook might be bleak for Obamacare, but the outlook for Obama himself is downright rosy. Two new polls show the president's approval rating and electoral prospects much improved from previous polls.

A CNN/ORC poll found that 56 percent of the public like Obama generally, 51 percent approve of his job performance and 54 percent would vote for him over Mitt Romney. More from Political Ticker's summary of the poll:

If the general election were held today instead of in early November, 54% of registered voters say they would back Obama, with 43% supporting former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the front-runner in the GOP nomination battle. That's up from a five-point 51%-46% advantage the president held over Romney in February.

And Obama would have a 55%-42% lead over Santorum, the former senator from Pennsylvania who's Romney's main rival right now for the nomination. The president led Santorum by a seven-point 52%-45% margin last month.

“President Obama currently wins majority support among groups that have been problematic for him in the past, including men, older voters, and suburbanites,” says CNN Poling Director Keating Holland. “He has a solid lead among independents as well.”

Importantly, the poll also showed a majority of voters still blame Bush and Republicans for the poor economy.

A new Quinnipiac poll of swing states also showed Obama on the uptick in crucial parts of the country:

In Florida: Mr. Obama bests Mr. Romney 49%-42%, and tops Mr. Santorum 50%-37%.

In Ohio: Mr. Obama leads Mr. Romney 47% – 41%, and Mr. Santorum 47%– 40%.

In Pennsylvania: Mr. Obama has about 45% support compared with Mr. Romney’s 42%, within the poll’s 2.8 percentage point margin of error. Mr. Obama bests Mr. Santorum 48%-41%.

The assistant director of polling for Quinnipiac says the results might be explained by voters’ views on the economy and gas prices: Six in 10 think the economy is improving and just one in six blame Obama for high gas prices. Instead, voters fault oil and gas companies and oil-producing countries.

A part of me is really burned up by these polls: It suggests to me that voters buy Obama’s blame-anybody-and-everything-around-me rhetoric without a second thought. By a number of measures, the economy is improving and, sure, Bush shares some of the blame for how weak the economy has been. But what were the Bush-era behaviors that were most problematic? Big spending. Yet, compared with Obama, Bush was a penny pincher! And Obama’s energy policies haven’t exactly helped to make energy costs more affordable.

Another part of me just thinks, “Oh well, the election isn’t today.” Much can and will still change before November.

Romney does better in the latest Rasmussen poll, which covered a later time but came out earlier.

RCP has the averages:
Obama +5.4% over Romney (Romney can’t win)
Obama +8.4% over Santorum (Santorum can’t win)
Obama +13.6% over Gingrich (Gingrich will crush Obama)

To you, who is “we” and who is “outnumbering” us?

Liberals only make up 14% of the US voting population. Conservatives are over 40%. The rest are “moderates.” Independents are rejecting Obama in the majority.

What will do us in is bringing on Romney who is no different from Obama and will not go after his far left actions and associations and offer something better. Romney is as dumb as a box of rocks and I don’t need to go to socialist web sites to know that.

These polls are probably pretty close to correct. The latest Rasmussen poll for Virginia shows 0bama destroying Romney by 9% and Santorum by 13%. If 0bama wins VA and FL again, it`ll be a VERY early night on Nov 6. Romney will be giving his concession speech by the time the the polls close in Mountain Time.

“Where on earth are you living now? Is it better than here over there?”

international traveling in 1999.
I first lived in central Europe and moved to Philippines in 2009.
Americans are fleeing the USSA in droves.
Many come here and many to central/south America.

Finding international living enjoyable is all in attitude, but I find it quite rewarding, not to mention much cheaper.
For example, I have no need or desire for a car here or in Europe.
That would be unthinkable in the states.

A couple here can live on as little as $750 per month, with no capital expenditures.

Any national poll giving Obama a 55% vote isn’t worth the toilet paper it was taken on. Obama is going to hit in the 48-50 at best.

No poll using “adults” as a sample is close to correct, period. The pollster knows that. So does CNN. Why the hell do you think they chose that sample?

This poll has done to you exactly what CNN and the outfit who did the poll wanted: depressed you. This is a push poll, not a legit opinion poll.

Besides, the campaign against Obama, sadly, has not begun. Mitt has preferred, and so has Santorum to a degree, to run against Newt for the majority of the time since November of 11.

That poll also assumes a 53-47% turn out advantage for Democrats.
What a joke.

"rove you magnificent...."
Maybe its time to take a page out of the Mayan handbook. Do away with all the "elites" and go back out into the countryside.

When America falls there is no place in the world you can go to escape the devastating worldwide depression. The thugs in the Philippines will find you and your death will not be pleasant. Those of us who took and oath to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic will at least die an honorable death.

Mittens has no contrast to offer voters.

This is an oft repeated thought here on FR, but I don't believe it to be completely true. Yes, Romney is not as conservative as I (and most of us here) would prefer, but he is infinitely better than Obama, if for no other reason than he LOVES America. Try to find anything, anywhere, with our Dear Leader extolling the goodness and virtues of this fine country. His thinly-veiled code words regarding race, American Imperialism, rich vs. poor, etc., might resonate with some, but there are still enough people who love this country and see it for what it is.

I don't know if Romney will win the nomination (I'm still a Rick guy), but if he does he certainly has my vote. Getting Obama out of the White House supersedes all this time around.

One last thought: Rick, Newt and Romney have all be scathing on Obama while on the campaign trail. In some cases, Romney has been scoring the most points on our Dear Leader. Whether he believes it, or can maintain it, remains to be seen.

“When America falls there is no place in the world you can go to escape the devastating worldwide depression.”
______________________________________________

In years past, I got my share of “dog in a manger” cracks, but they are now quite rare.
I now get many asking for more details on how they can escape.

The USSA is no longer the country that I was raised in, and it will get only worse.
It has past the point of no return.
I now live in a country where people know how to live on little or nothing. Most of the people live on fish, rice, and local vegies.
They have no need for supermarkets and Walmart.
I am not at all worried about my safety here. My lady is related to half the people in town.
If and when the worldwide depression and calamity hits, I will be far better off here on my beach, then you will be in your suburban neighborhood with your guns and freeze dried food that will be gone in a week.

I loved America. My great great great uncle was the Uncle Sam (Troy, New York, 1812).
It is, however, no longer my America, anymore then Britain
was for the founding fathers.

The USSA is now ruled by an illegal Marxist, and nobody sees
how he can be defeated !!!! That tells me all I need to know.

“The majority of this country are brain dead illiterate incompetent morons.”
________________________________________________

That is one of my main points.
The population is being dumbed down and subverted by a Marxist media and educational system at a very rapid pace.
I see no way it can turn back now.
All of the guns and bullets in the world will not stop stupidity.

Those on here that think their stock of bullets and freeze dried food is the answer are nothing short of crazy.

Not only that, but it also is beginning to appear that the Dems pick up 2 Senate seats and win the House back (or come really close to doing so). Our only recourse will be the fillabuster. And, you better believe that they will rework Obamacare and sneak the individual mandate through yet again.

Given the choice...most Americans will settle for the Real Thing..and vote Obama. Which is PRECISELY what our Oligarchy in DC anticipates.
